If you wear black clothing, which I am sure you all do from time to time, chances are you have fallen victim to annoying deodorant marks on your favorite top or dress. In this How-To Lounge, I am going to share some tips that I find helpful when I notice white streaks up and down my clothing!

- Although most deodorants advertise "goes on clear", don't be fooled, you still need to be careful with your application before hitting the streets
- If you are wearing a tank top or an open necked top, put your deodorant on after you have gotten dressed, obviously deodorant marks on the inside of your garment aren't the end of the world, just make sure not to forget it all together!
- Depending on how you put on your clothing, deodorant marks could be hard to see, so make sure you take a good look in the mirror
- Try rubbing the fabric of your top against itself. Using the same fabric tends to take the stain right out
- Another trick that has been successful for me is using the foam protectors found on your dry cleaner's hanger. Rubbing that blue foam on the stain quickly removes any white streaks. If you are looking for a more chic eraser, try Gal Pal Garment Deodorant Remover Pads. They are reusable and come in adorable packaging!
- I have heard that a nylon stocking is a great fast and easy way to wipe the mark clean off your clothes
- If you don't mind having a wet spot on your outfit before you go out, dampen a washcloth, add a bit of mild soap, Ivory or Dove, wash the streaks off, and rinse. Repeat if necessary
If you have any other home remedies that I have not touched upon, please share them in the comments below.

I usually put it on after I get dressed.
1I always put it on after getting dressed, not just when wearing a tank or sleeveless top. It's the only sure-thing in the deodrant mark game!
2I do the washcloth one. I put my deodorant on before getting dressed and try to let it dry, but I still sometimes end up with stains when I wear tank tops. Humph.
3great tips! i wasn't aware of some of them. Thanks Dear.
4the rubbing the fabric against it self works everytime! I have done this forever!
5For me, it's all about the right deodorant and putting it on after you put your clothes on. (As some have already stated.) After I found my "stick" of choice and I started putting on later, I haven't had any problems. Dear's tips work too!
6I always put my deod on after I get dressed. One tip is to never us a tissue or any paper product. I had this happen one time and I got to work and realized and tried to get it out. I had papery mess all over my clothes. It looked worse than the mark.
7agreed cravinsugar - a friend of mine told me about it in 7th grade and i've been doing it ever since!
8rubbing the fabric against each other is the easiest and best way to get it out! i've used this trick since i was 11!
9I'm with the fabric crowd. It works every time, and no special equipment necessary!
10i usually put it on after i get dressed but sometimes if i change my shirt it gets on it so i'll have to try rubbing the fabric together next time.
11baby wipes work really well!
12The best thing that ever happened to my life ... Shout Wipes

13I have found that a lint brush (the fabric kind, not the "tape" kind) works everytime!!
14Very simple: I fold up the bottom of the shirt, then put on the shirt as normal. All the deodorant marks end up on the inside.
15the inside of a sock works well too!
16I have nasty whihe marks on my favourite black top and NOTHING helps.
