Or perhaps the exposed area is just a shadow? For one 16-year-old junior from Tampa, FL, it doesn't matter. She's regretting her decision to avoid visible panty lines one day by eschewing underwear altogether — and then getting a yearbook photo taken in a short dress. Ruh roh. School administrators have refused to confiscate the yearbook, continuing to hand it out because they don't think you can see anything. This poor teen has to return to school next year, and I hope she gets past this embarrassment. The moral of the story? Wear underwear, people!

ladies please wear your underpants no matter what. they have plenty of choices now so there will be no VPL.
so she didnt want panty lines, but there are clearly ways out there to still wear underwear and not have those. She also decided to go commando in a short skirt? Something tells me that panty lines werent the main thing on her mind. I am happy she is embarassed, she should be.
this is silly. oh the stupid things people do in high school (myself included!)
I think the mother is trying to make a huge deal out of this because she wants to sue the school for $$$. If she was really concerned about her daughter's privacy, she wouldn't be doing interviews with the news station or making this a bigger story than it needs to be. Now it's all over the internet and WAY more people know this girl didn't wear underwear with her skirt that day than just the other kids at the school.
This was in Cosmo, Tres. Cosmo, which was delivered three weeks ago.
Go Chaton! HA HA.
Umm....this girl sure did make a TON of stupid mistakes. Whether it's a shadow or not, she's going to have to live it down for the rest of her life.
I kinda feel bad for the girl because of all the embarrassment. But think about it, only tight pants cause vpl not skirts. What was she thinking?
no way those kids are going to give back that yearbook. the girl made a mistake and she has to live with it.
that's what she gets for being a skank.
I don't see how not wearing chonies makes her a skank. Sometimes I don't wear them either. *shrug* That said, if she's embarrassed it's her own fault. And whoever the yearbook editors are should be reprimanded for not catching it to begin with.
This story totally makes me think of the social etiquette training scene in A League of Their Own, when she teaches them to cross legs at the ankles. "Remember, a lady reveals nothing!"
I'm wondering why, if she's so embarassed, she let her mom go on the news and talk about her idiocy. Sure, they blurred her face and omitted her name, but people are resourceful. Come on. Oh, well, she has a nice future ahead of her, joining the likes of Lohan and Spears.
Maybe her mother should have taught her some etiquette. I mean even in the interview both of them are not sitting very lady-like.
I would never wear a dress or a skirt without wearing undies! She is crazy. What would happen if their was a breeze?
You can't fix stupid.
Short Skirt + No Panties = Asking for it.
THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR WEARING NO UNDERWEAR. lets not praise her for her stupidity
what an idiot, the mother and daughter are the ones making a huge deal of this. no one would have cared.
Haha. Back when I was in high school if you did something stupid the whole school knew about it. These days I guess the whole world wide web gets in on it too.
If I did something dumb like that I would make sure that it didn't end up on TV or the internet.
she could have dealt with this a lot better instead of letting the whole world know about it. sheesh... i agree with everyone before me... it's her fault
Yes, she did something stupid but she is 16! Sixteen year olds do stupid things! Doesn't make her a skank or anything else. Jeesh!
Mama always said wear clean underwear when you leave the house in case your in a accident. I would bet she has went out without underwear before, she may only be 16 but she was old enough to know better.
I feel bad for her, and I don't believe in 'slut-shaming' her. Plus if she's 16 isn't the picture potentially classified as child pornography?? :S
Poor kid. Yes, she should have worn underwear or crossed her legs. However, yearbooks are edited. I worked on a yearbook when I was in school, and we poured over every picture to make sure everything was okay. The yearbook editors should have done the same. The girl was not able to preview the picture, but plenty of people were. It's unacceptable that they did not notice it and it's unacceptable that the school and yearbook company will not recall the yearbooks and hand out new ones, as ultimately it falls on them. The mother is right - these pictures will follow her and that is so unfair to her because it's not like she purposely took a revealing photo and put it up on facebook (btw, don't do that if you want a job at any point, kids!!).
I think everyone just needs to remember that she's a kid. We've all made stupid mistakes as teenagers, and probably wouldn't have appreciated being called slutty or trashy over them. Somebody needs to talk to her, maybe raise her self esteem a bit so she doesn't feel like skipping underwear is a good idea. Instead of just calling her names, maybe people should think about why she did it and what that says about the pressures girls are under.
