Wow. Talk about your alltime bad transliterations. The Hebrew word is "chardon" (the ch is pronounced like a really "rough" sounding h, not like a regular English h, although many Hebrew
speakers nowadays pronounce it in a horrible sounding kh like the ch in German "Bach") and it means a kind of lizard. Even funnier, when you consider that "that certain member of the male
anatomy" is sometimes referred to as a lizard... As for the
ham sandwich, uh...probably not on "Lizard Lane"...
is this an English road sign?
Unfortunate that they're on the same pole, but Ham is 1/2 a mile (or whatever their measurement is) and Sandwich is 3, not Ham Sandwich 3 1/2, in the same direction.

I'll take the ham sandwich
1Me too, Catarina! I'm hungry!
2hahaha I would love to tell people "My address? 118 Hardon Lane."
3Same here. Imagine the look on peoples' faceswhen somebody says "I live at 124 Ham Sandwich 3 1/2."
"You live at a sandwich?"
