i won't be watching it, i will be in class.
1I won't be..I'll be asleep...
2I usually don't watch speeches anyway, my mind does not focus on them. I read the recaps and news stories about it later.
i'm not sure.
3How many press conferences does this man need already? I hope the teleprompter can keep up with him this time...
4Obama is like the country's carrying mom: eat your chicken soup and get some rest if you're not feeling well!
5Wow. Obama sounds really reasonable about swine flu. Treat like regular flu, but extra precautions because it's a new strain.
6i'm watching right now, this guy seems to have it together!
7Obama: IMHO waterboarding is torture.
8He is a great speaker
9OMG, how many news conferences does one man need in 100 days? Are we at five yet? If I was a network with popular shows, I'd charge him to preempt them. How much ad revenue are they losing per conference? Does anyone know?
10He's an empty suit. Without a teleprompter he is nothing. I wish America had discovered this BEFORE they voted him to office, not after. Now we're stuck with a presidency which seems to lack direction, except of course for turning America into a socialist country.
11Yeah he was great.Thank goodness we have a calm one who doesn't freak out and misspeak.
12Obama is the bomb! He's great. Not perfect, but then what president has been?
13TOTUS (Teleprompter of The United States) has been fortunate to have a fantastic education at some of the best schools; but as a legislator, has been a complete and utter failure. He's going to keep spending your money while you drink the kool aid and become a mind numbing co-dependent supporter. For the rest of us who have read his voting record and what he has done to this wonderful country the last 100 days, we see what's coming full throttle.
14O, please all he is doing is guaranteeing the decline of America, what President in American history brought a first budget that doubles and then triples the national debt, none ( a debt that took 200 hundred years to make and Obama purposes in his budget to double it in 5 years and triple it in 10 and not a peep from the American people, in 3 months he has spent more then Iraq, Vietnam and the New Deal combined, he keeps saying he inherited a 1.2 trillion dollar deficit , no actually it was 700 hundred billion including the TARP the congress and the Bush administration signed, and democrats controlled congress since 2006 and congress controls the purse strings, and since he was a democratic senator he actually gave himself that deficit. and he has now in 3 months brought it to 1.8 trillion dollars. In 1993 the deficit were 4 % of GDP and democrats screamed that they had to raise taxes because that was unsustainable for a country, now under Obama with all his new spending the deficit is an astounding 14% of GDP and you hear not a word from the democrats or the corrupt media, not only do you not hear not a word besides republicans screaming the alarm, Obama wants to just keep adding to the debt with massive new government programs even though Medicare and Social Security and both broke and in need of major cuts he wants to add a national health care which will in ten year literally bankrupt America, and he wants to add a massive tax on everything Americans buy from groceries, to a car, to gas, to home heating with his Cap and Trade tax.I can go on but America will just have to learn the hard way especially because they keep giving democrats more more power now with a 60 proof majority , no checks and balances, in 4 yeas America will even more in debt to China and the world, burdened with higher taxes, higher unemployment and no growth, much like the late 70'S the last time democrats had this much power, America the New Banana Republic, now that's change you can believe in.
15I was watching Lie to Me, on Fox. Tim Roth is much easier on the eyes and ears.
16uh, he isnt a great ,uh speaker, uh....thats all i hear is the UH's
17Yes because "Uh's" are worse than him stumbling over his own words and not making any sense.
18Momma, we are not talking about GW we are talking about Obama so dont bring your old hatred into this, this isnt a poll about past presidents is it?
Why does it always have to be "here is my opinion on BO" and the reaction "oh yea, well GW sucked" get another arguement that one is retired.....
19I thought it was a great speech! I really liked the part about telling the Republicans that they've got to start meeting him halfway.

20I'm also really surprised to read so many people on TresSugar that don't like him. I respect everyone's views, but it's really hard for me to understand why women would be against their best interests. That was one of the the most unequivocal pro-choice answers I've ever heard a politician give.
21Spacekat-
That's really cool of you to say. Thanks!
As for knowing about my best interests--Like it or not, we women have the primary share of responsibility for birth control and/or having kids. I did not have sex until I was married at age 25. (It's generally frowned upon to take one's baby on a tornado chase.)
It was also my responsibility to choose a suitable mate for marriage. Does it take two to tango? Absolutely!!! But, I am ultimately responsible for my body and the potential life that it can create. I know what my best interests are. I don't need Obambi to tell me.
(And yes, I'm still VERY bitter about my tax bill this year--$12,000. So, I really cannot look at Congress or the President right now. The president had the chance to be the hero. Cut the top tax rates and watch the money pour in to the treasury. But, he wasted his chance. And I'll stop here. Really bitter, I am.)
22Um space, I am Pro Life not all women are the same, just fyi.
23No thanks.
24I guess "I respect everyone's views" means "I respect the views of those who think like me."
25Good thing TOTUS was on good behavior.
26Yes, I get that all women are not pro-choice. But I'm speaking from my opinion, and my own point of view - which you may feel free to disagree with. That's why we have democracy.
it just feels to me that, very generally speaking, Obama is fighting to restore the economy, end two pointless wars and to restore our nations credibility. It also seems to me, very generally speaking, the Republicans are fighting for the interests of the very rich and the corporations. They just seem so irrationally angry to me.
My parents are conservative Southerners, so I spent a lot of time around this mindset. It's just my opinion, but I think Howard Dean was correct when he said that "The problem with the Republicans party is they care more about their party than the country." I feel Obama will be criticized no matter what he does.
27I wasn't impressed because it wasn't a real press conference! Obama (as per usual) was spoon fed by the media. He had a list of 13 people he wanted to talk to and called on them, with no deviation from that list. One question was so ridiculous- it asked what has "enchanted" him about being President!! With nuclear bombs in korea, 2 wars going on, and STILL no explanation as to how we are going to PAY for the stimulus bill, Im just waiting for 2012.....I'd rather have bush and reality than obama with the media covering his every mistake!
28I love when people (who quite obviously haven't read a thing about what they are talking about) try to sound like pundits, and base their decisions on 2 minute news clips. When your grandchildren are indentured slaves to pay off this debt, remember you drank the Change Koolaid and voted for TOTUS. It is a shame people have to learn it the excrutiatingly hard way. Please, people: I implore you to educate yourselves on these issues with more than CNN, MSNBC, Fox, CBS or ABC. It is your responsibility. And Tres: your comments are a disappointment lacking in any substance.
