VH1 has ordered eight episodes of a Celebrity Rehab spinoff that will attempt to clarify sex addiction, an oft-misunderstood illness. Much like the original, Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew will follow a group of people in Los Angeles who struggle with the very real addiction and its destructive side effects. VH1 really sells it with this seductive promo:
For addicts, sex isn’t even pleasurable, but rather a way to escape the pain of past loss, childhood trauma, abuse, and abandonment. Like many other addictions, their habits can cost them their jobs, their marriages, even their lives.

i liked his other shows,so maybe i'll watch this one too,to have a better understanding of sex addiction, and stuff
1Nope. For one thing, I'm sure it's real for many people, but recently the whole "I'm a sex addict" thing has struck me as something that high profile people say when they get caught cheating on their spouses. For another, I don't watch Intervention or Celebrity Rehab anyway.
2Just in reference to the "why are people listening to Dr. Drew" option- sure he wants attention, he's on reality shows, but what he is pushing for people to try is quite in line with what most rehab facilities and substance- abuse programs promote. Just for everyone's awareness, he isn't giving these people bad advice at ALL.
3Yeah, I didn't pick "no" because I disagree with or don't like Dr. Drew.
