K, I thought this was getting old (what with this and this and, oh, that's it) and that Funny or Die's take on the gay-marriage storm was more deadly than funny. But then a Connecticut weatherman comes on and says "there's a cold front coming in and it's gay people," and gay people start falling from the sky, and I laughed. OK, I laughed. But, really, Internet, this is it; the storm is over.

Repetto
Fiorelli
Alexander McQueen
i thought the non-celebrity one was funnier
1I think the part about teaching children that gay marriage is okay in schools is likely a real concern with people...
This commercial and the spoof are lame.
2i guess some people were hard up for cash or something....
3I enjoyed this but the Colbert spoof was funnier.
4i knew i liked sophia bush.
5it got boring near the end~does not compare to the one with neil patrick harris!
6Why did they turn this into a gay site? I have no problems with gay people, and it seems like Tres herself is gay or bi at least, but this used to be a site where women could go and read about/discuss relationships with men. Since the new format has come in, all we've had are posts on gay marriage and advice from gay guys on relationships. No posts about love, romance, or even plain old sex between a guy and a girl.
Why didn't sugar just start a GaySugar site and let Tres post there? This is such a weird, random switch. Is there a place for straight women here anymore?
7^GaySugar?? ha ha. "plain old sex between a guy and a girl", LOL!
8I'm pretty sure all the gay marriage posts - which is a recent and contentious current affairs issue - have to do with the "Portion Formerly Known As Citizen" part of Tres, and that the "Portion Formerly Known as Dear" has sort of disappeared. I miss Dear a lot.
Though I do definitely believe that the original commercial deserved to be mocked... I'm a straight woman who has gay friends, and I don't have to be gay to support their rights.
9I am shocked by that kind of ad.
10Is it ironic or true ?
My computer must be homophobic, because it won't play the sound on this video. I've tried viewing it on 3 different websites without success.
11Oh lord, I'm already sick of this whole Miss Cali thing. Am I accepting of whatever anyone wants to do and support gay marriage but good lord I admire her for being honest.
12Wait, what DID happen to DearSugar? I miss it...
13There were definite parts of that, that I found funny but the whole thing not as funny as some of the spoof things I've seen.
14I like the Colbert one better
15Allyell, TrèsSugar seeks to be inclusive. There will be content about the whole spectrum of sexuality. (Well, as much as we can.) As for the Conventional Wisdom post you refer to — a gay man answered a straight woman's question — quite well — about her love life. Straight, gay, bi, transgendered — we hope to talk to everyone.
16No one is arguing against inclusion. That was one of Dear's strong suits. You've seemed to go the other way so far, with almost no posts covering what Dear Sugar was all about. So really, when we see nothing but posts about gays and from gay guys, I start to wonder if you'll ever include straight ladies in your content. We seem to be the ones excluded from your site right now.
Like I said, I have no problem if you're gay or bi, Tres, and even if you address that a lot here in your posts. But I would like to see SOME connection to the old site, Dear, where straight women could read about stuff affecting us every day. So far, very, very little of that.
17Bring Dear back! I don't like this new version ;-(
18I think that this video is somewhat attacking what Miss Cali's religious beliefs are and I think thats wrong. I understand that it's a joke and everything but, I mean, come on. She is getting slammed for her religious beliefs which isn't right. I think this video is rude to her and everyone else that has her same beliefs.
19im more concerned about it rainin MEN....Hallelujah!
20Honestly, I could go either way on gay marriage. I'm not gay so I feel like it doesn't really effect me either way HOWEVER I have a huge problem with poking fun at parents who don't want their kids taught in school how to feel about gay marriage.
21I don't have children but if I did I wouldn't want them to be indoctrinated with liberal beliefs in school. Like it or not gay marriage is directly linked to most peoples religious beliefs. If I'm supposed to be "tolerant" of radical Muslims then I expect tolerance for my beliefs!
By the way, Tres Sugar sucks. Bring the old format back!
Sorry, but this video is AWESOME!
22I liked both spoofs. I enjoy anything that takes the piss out of right wing religious freaks who try to take away rights of other human beings. By all means let's have more of this!
