OMG. This little guy is really going to town on that carrot! He's like a cartoon. The quills on his tiny forehead are moving around, and it looks like he's smiling. Good lord he's cute. But one question: where the heck do people get hedgehog pets?!

4In answer to your question Giggle, I believe people get hedgehogs from breeders and pet stores, BUT they are illegal to keep as pets in some states. I know that California is VERY strict about it. When considering getting a hedgehog, make sure that you will not be moving to a state that does not allow them within its lifetime. Not only could your little spiny friend be taken from you and possibly euthanized if discovered; but you may also find it very challenging to find veterinary care for it if you decided to smuggle it in to the state. At least that is what I have read. I have never known anyone who had one, but I got curious one day and did some research, soooo... there ya go!
