Want to know who voted in Indonesia's elections today? Just look for blue ink on pinkie fingers, and maybe actually be in Indonesia. Details! Voters are asked to dip their pinkies in blue dye, which lasts for days, before leaving. It acts as a security measure (like Iraq's purple fingers) to ensure nobody votes twice. Archaic but efficient! This would never work in the United States; people would complain and complain about finding blue on their white Volvos and silver MacBooks for days — at least until it wore off. Instead we should all get our nails done in festive American flags, like this. Yes. Yes we should.

No. No we shouldn't.
You're in a delightfully whimsical mood today Citizen.
I am ALL for this. Election fraud ran rampant in this last election. A died purple finger would PROVE you hadn't already voted.sh*t, since we can't even ask for an ID at the election booth, I can register numerous times and just "say" I am angelina jolie and have the right to vote.
Hmmm... pretty sure I brought ID to my voting both... and when it didn't match my current address (I'd moved two weeks before) I had to dig an old cable bill out of my car...
Me too Monday! I had to give proof of my new address since I had an old ID.
Hainan57, I would think that a "died" purple finger would indicate circulation problems.

In the 10 years I have been voting I have never once been asked for my ID. The only thing I am asked is my name and my address. Courts have ruled that requiring an id to vote is unconstitutional (I think they consider it a poll tax since you have to pay to get a DL) Also if you vote by absentee, no proof of ID is required. People have registered their dogs name and mickey mouse and have been able to vote in elections. it is really absurd. I have even offered my ID at the polling station, every time they shake their head. I am 28 years old, you would think that they'd know this was not my first time. I am trying to send them a message, not that it ever works, UGHH
HAHA fuzzles, dyed....

comment #10 is uncalled for and rude, I have reported your comment. there is no room for personal attacks like that. It is very sad that you have to stoop to that level.
By the way, I'm all for voting security or showing ID. I just hated those nails.
Agreed, Star.
Maybe if they painted just one nail...
Could I get my toes painted?
Only if you wear sandles
I wore sandals for a week when my daughter last did my toenails. She was soo proud.
Awww how cute! How old is your daughter? (and if you say 32, I'm going to take back my "how cute" statement)
lol, carrie!
She's 5. She was 4 (almost) when mommy painted her toenails, and then wanted to paint mine as well.
I've never had to show proof of my previous address either. Really stupid but I would wear the dye with pride just like I wear the sticker.
Lol! Great post. Love it.
i never liked the i voted sticker. it's too plain looking for me. i do like color, so i think that should be an option : D "This would never work in the United States; people would complain and complain about finding blue on their white Volvos and silver MacBooks for days" lol
