President Obama might dream of a nuclear-free world, but companies that manufacture nuclear fallout shelters are counting on the bombs' existence. Japanese company Shelter Co saw a sharp increase in sales over the last two months, when it became increasingly obvious that North Korea would test-launch an intercontinental ballistic missile.
All right, so Shelter Co only received 12 orders, but that's still double the number they typically sell in a year. And the shelters are not cheap. Each costs $28,000. But that's a small price to pay for surviving a nuclear attack!
Let's hope the day doesn't come when we all seriously consider buying bomb shelters.

This kinda reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode where only one family on this street has a bomb shelter but after the threat of an attack suddenly everyone that was friends becomes vicious and violent enemies because they are all trying to get inside the one little bomb shelter. Freaky.
1people should just buy one anyway, in case of a zombie attack.
2Doesn't surprise me.
3CP, your picture along with your comment had me rolling.
4Meant CG, sorry
5CG I'm suddenly more afraid of bunnies than zombies
6there is an old movie called "Night of the Lepus" made in 1972 and its about giant killer rabbits. What they did was make little model town and just set a bunch of plain old rabbits free in the model and put scary music on and made it slow motion. Its hilarious. highly recommend. We are watching it on easter. they also put fake blood on the bunnies mouths, and there are some bunny puppets attacking people.
7My grandparents have a fall out shelter in their basement, sometimes after holiday dinners we all go down there and talk and look at all their old army memorabilia. Good times in the bomb shelter!
8well apparently after the nuclear holocaust it will be up to the japanese to repopulate the earth
9Of course, if you manage to survive a nuclear blast in your bomb shelter, it will be some time before it would be safe to come out - and what you find won't be pleasant.
10Hmm. I'm moderately prepared for zombie invasion, but not at all for nuclear attack. Then again, this building was built in 45. I wonder if we have a built in one downstairs... Maybe that's what the creepy door in one our the basements is!
11its just now dawned on me why the japanese are so cautious when it comes to a nuclear threat...im so slow today
12I'm going to watch "Night of the Lepus" now
13Can't say i blame them... and it is not ONLY nuclear weapons they are worried about. Maybe that is just what we should do here. Obama should promise everyone a bomb shelter, since when he gets done with his agenda we won't be able to protect ourselves, all we will be able to do is run and hide....
