Did any of you see Saturday Night Live this weekend? If not, you missed a hilarious skit all about "girlfriend voice." Three guys gave each other a hard time about the way their tone changed when talking to their significant other, yet it didn't seem to prevent them from doing it every time their phone rang. I know that most of you think baby talk is worse than hearing a couple fight, but tell me, do you do it anyway? Do you talk to your boyfriend in a different way than you talk to everyone else?

I think I do/did. I think my voice softens a bit, you know?
1I think this phenom is a bit inevitable. I love the language my boyfriend and I use w/ each other - it's different and special and just for us and our relationship, you know?
2I also think I soften my voice a bit...
but I am also always wary of men who change their voices/patterns of speech significantly when they're with me. I think it shows that he's being insincere. Having two different voices and speech patters is like being two different people. One of them has to be fake. I dated a guy for a long time who did this and it took me a year to figure that out.
3i dont think it does when i just answer the phone and chat about our day etc. but we definitely do a little bit like "oookaaay...well i misssss you.....okayyyy talk to you later.....looove yuouuuuu....okkaaayyyy byyyyeeeee"
maybe that part
but i don't really do that in front of other people and neither
does he
4I think my tone changes, but more so on the phone than during face-to-face conversations.
5My ex had a special voice for his mom and sister... and I guess me too. I could always tell when he was on the phone with him.
6oops... with them
7I definitely did- it was higher and softer. I couldn't help it though- he brought that side out in me!
8Definitely an automatic change of tone when I'm talking on the phone with a boyfriend. "Oh, hey" is completely different than when just a friend calls.
9he talks in a very loud voice around everyone else... definitely a much softer tone to me. I know I speak differently when I talk to him because I always speak with a smile on my face with him which makes my voice more pleasant. With others I don't always have the smile and therefore sound a bit more harsh.
10Sweeter, more lovingly, gentle. Even when pissed at her.
11I think it's a very funny and strange phenomenon. My voice is definitely softer with him, and so is his. I've noticed that he usually talks to his mom, his sister and me with the same voice. Very gentle and sweet. With anybody else, he's just loud.
12His voice is not as "harsh" with me. Definitely lighter. Mine's stays the same strangely enough.
I loved the part in the SNL bit when the guy started talking like Gizmo!
13my ex-boyfriend would always soften hsi voice for me and then as SOON as one of his guy friends would hang out or call on the phone he'd put on his 'guy voice' - a deeper 'hey, man' sort of thing. i always got a kick out of it. my current boyfriend doesn't really do anything differently.
14We do talk differently to each other. Our voices definitely take on a softer, more intimate quality. We don't speak like that to anyone else. What a strange phenomenon!
15Hmmmmm if anything most of the time I have more of a loving tone with him...if that makes sense. But my voice doesn't change and how I engage in a convo isn't much different. I'm just more happy to talk to him than anyone else so I tend to sound that way too.
16I sure do.
17I used to cringe when my roommates boyfriend would call and her voice would change. Now that I have a boyfriend I understand the whole voice change thing. Still definitely not as bad as she was though.
18Hmm...not really. Maybe in the bedroom, but otherwise no. We've been together for 5 years; I think we've stopped being cutesy with each other by now.
19It's probably a little softer, but I have a bad habit of calling everyone sweetheart, honey, etc so the nickname part isn't that different.
20Thank goodness that at least I'm not alone having baby talk moment with my fiancee LMAO.
21And yeah, my fiancee doesn't even hesitate to use the baby talk when we talk on the phone too although his friends are around.
My voice changes. Its more of a happy voice.
22Yes I absolutely do.....
23Yes, absolutely!!
24My boyfriend called while I was with my friends and they were like "oh it must be Bobby your voice changed" so i guess it does
