I know this is a happy occasion and all, but don't you think the photo is a bit silly! Could't they do something more....umm...military-like?
1Woo hoo! Positive news for a change.
2Are those two men seriously holding hands?
3Yeah, I'm with zeze here.
4Nice.
5It's so bad, but on this day.. I assumed this was an April Fool's joke as well..
ditto pinkmystic.
6Different cultures have different customs.
7IDK - I think the fact that they're holding hands is kind of cool. I'm just thinking of all the positive things that holding hands signifies.
8Now, if they started skipping....
9I am pretty sure in Iraq, it is not the usual culture for 2 military leaders to hold hands.
And I came back to this after I noticed it was April 1st...but I guess they're serious.
10total photo op and little more.
11UnDave -
It should be more about the fact that the US is handing over the camp, a very good thing, than two guys holding hands.
Here's a question: Would those of you thinking it's an April Fool's Day joke feel the same if it were a picture of two gay men holding hands?
12If they were gay military leaders in a military setting, I would feel the same way and I would also wonder why the article/picture would mention they were gay.
13This is adorable.
14uhh... for the record, i thought it was a joke before i even saw the picture and the picture didn't even really stand out to me.
