I am so happy to hear that most of you are with the man you describe as Mr. Right, but now I'm curious to hear about where you found him! Of course there are the obvious places to meet an eligible bachelor — the gym, through mutual friends, or at a bar — but I want to hear about the obscure, random stories, so do tell, where is the strangest place you've ever met a guy?

We met because we were both in the school play. We didn't start dating until a year or so after when I randomly showed up at a party that was his going away party, because he was moving across the country. He moved the next day, but 2 weeks later moved back to be with me and we've been together for over 3.5 years and we're as happy as could be
1my bf: a beach
2my ex: a ski hill
other guys were bars, mutual friends, my cousin, work, school...nothing too weird
I met my ex because I put a typo in my friend's email address and emailed him instead. We started chatting and ended up living together for over a year.
3The internet.
4I met my boyfriend at a restaurant. We were sitting at adjacent tables and ended up completely ignoring the friends we were with, were immersed in conversation, and almost two years later are happier than ever.
5Internet... Craigslist twice
first in apartments for rent... he interviewed to be a roomate and I let the other roomate make the final pick. she went for an aspiring male modle.
second in tickets... I wanted one ticket to a Kraftwerk show... he was selling anonymously... I got the ticket and we consider that our first date
6i met my boyfriend at a keg. i met my ex while we were both working on a parade float.
7I met one of my exes because he TA-d a class I took. Another one I met because we saw each others tattoos.
8In Target, browsing for a trash can. He gave me a recommendation, then helped me get my selection un-stuck, and offered to help me carry it to my car (I declined, 'cause I'm paranoid about strangers walking me anywhere in the dark!). Anyway, he was cute & quirky & charming, and asked me to have coffee with him the following morning. I declined this as well since I was dating someone, but we agreed it would have made a fun story!
9Twitter...haha. He started following me after he saw me on the public timeline and it's been heaven ever since. Funny how things work out sometimes.
10The guy I'm with currently I met at a party while dating his friend. We must have hit it off because later that night people thought we dating instead of me and the guy I was actually with. That wasn't good, but there's no bad feelings between any of us.
I did once meet a guy while giving blood before though, so I loved the recent episode of The Office where Michael flirted with the girl in the blood donation trailer.
11The internet. Though, I did meet this one guy at the Philippine Consulate hahah
It was freaking quiet and boring in there so all the little old ladies were just looking at him funny. I didn't know wtf to do; chat him up and get scorned by a
thousand women or be rude and be safe haha
12He was the bus driver for the route i take to work.... it was fun sometimes, but it got awkward after we stopped seeing each other.
13on a train while studying abroad- the only seat left
14I had a membership for an online dating service and had been emailing him for 3 weeks. I met him for dinner at his hotel since he was staying there for work reasons. I choked down bad spaghetti he cooked but still had fun. He still laughs about my bravery to do that. I already had done my research about him since I know the hotel manager. I couldn't ask for a better man.
15Probably the most obscure place I met a guy was at a video game convention. It was called Game Developers Convention, actually. I was walking by a booth and stopped in just to see what it was. Of course, it was some for like enterprise companies, and I was just a student then, and I walked away. It wasn't anything special, I didn't say much other than some geeky quip about Star Trek or something and he followed me (kind of stalkerish, I know) and tapped my shoulder. By that time I had moved down to the next aisle and totally forgot who he was. He asked me to coffee and we talked on the phone for hours later that night as he waited in his hotel for his flight the next morning. We were together for about almost 2 years flying back and forth from Northern California to Southern California, and ultimately that was the strain that ended it.
16I met this guy in college that was in the school's IT department. I was having computer issues and I called the IT department and he was the one that I talked to. He had to get into my computer to fix the problem and I was really reluctant to let him do it, but he did fix the problem really quickly and he asked me for my phone number and we went out a few times. It was definitely random, that's for sure.
17at the dog park
we've been together ever since.
18Some cute stories here!
I'm boring... I've only met men through school, friends and
work.
19At a meeting for volunteers. He was 29 and I was 17. Yes, it still seems creepy now.
We dated for 3.5 yrs and are still good friends. He just couldn't act his age ! =)
I met my current boyfriend through my ex... they're best friends. Nobody cares.
20Jury Duty... we both got picked for the same case. We dated a for a month or so... just didn't work out.
21I met my fiance at my ex-boyfriend's house. My ex-boyfriend and I were already broken up for 8 months when I went over there. His mom actually told me to come over with the excuse that I left some things at their house and her son wasn't going to be home that night so if I can come over to pick it up and stay to chat. I was there for 10 minutes when my ex-boyfriend, his friend, and my fiance walks through the door. We hit it off immediately and talked the whole night. We've been together for almost six years now.
22I met this guy while I was vacationing in Spain. I was rather shocked when I met him at my local grocery two weeks later. We forgot to talk about where we were from. It was just so funny.
23I met a guy during Zombie Pub Crawl, an annual event that happens in my city where people dress up and act like zombies and pub crawl. He was standing behind me at a bar and I saw him and thought "he's the cutest zombie I've seen tonight!" LOL. He started talking to me and we ended up having the best conversation ,while taking "blood and brain shots" haha, and this wasn't the typical meet a guy at a bar thing, I don't know-we were dressed as zombies (I was a punk rocker one!) for this fun event, and he was really cool. He got my number, which surprised me because of how I looked -fake blood all over and crazy makeup..it was so much fun!
24I met him at a walking home tour. It was his house and he never even had to leave his house to meet me.
Another guy I met at a party then found him on eharmony.
25Um... we haven't/we're not really going out, but my current 'boy toy' as I (adoringly) call him met at Church... I guess it isn't that special. I was going to a Youth Group thing that I didn't want to go to, and probably looked scared to death. He introduced himself and pointed out the other leadership (He's a year older than me), and was nice to me the whole weekend. It took a few years before we hooked up for the first time though.
26University Library...I used to run into this guy and play the 'catch each other's eye' game at the library during our breaks between classes. I'd go there to study and so would he, and we were in totally different majors and different years. Didn't work out...but it was kind of amazing how often we ran into each other.
27At the train station. The train was twenty minutes delayed; I was bored, so I went up to talk to him. We talked on the train as well, but we didn't keep in touch.
28At a gynecologist's office. Yes, really. We are both medical sales professionals from different companies and were there to meet with clients (doctors). We have been together for 3 and a half years and just got engaged in January. I think this wins for the strangest place to meet!
29he was driving the sag wagon on my bike trip
30spring break lol
we had been introduced 3 months before at a sorority function but he was with another girl and then ran into each other the first night of spring break. We hung out everynight and everyday once getting back to school. we just celebrated our 1 year
31In a video game.
We were both playing a Star Wars video game (an ex of mine had forced me into it, and some co-workers/friends of his talked him into it). Even though we lived 4000 miles apart, we ended up meeting after about a year of talking every day, online and on the phone. After 3 years, a lot of love, a lot of insanity, and several thousands of dollars in plane tickets, we had one fight too many, and that was that.
32It would have made a cute story to tell our kids that we met in a Star Wars video game, fell madly in love, and then had them.
I was the lead in a musical for a festival at the local university, and he was in the band. He had a girlfriend at the time, but we got along very well then and after the musical had finished we met up a few months later and hit it off straight away. We are absoloutely, disgusting perfect for each other.
33Fencing Tournament!! Still going 2 years later!
34Hmmmmm strange? I wouldn't say strange but online.
35Through a mass email we both received
36Through a mass email we both received
37I met my guy the first year I ever lived in the dorms. It was an upperclassman dorm and I was a transfer. He swears he talked before I actually remember meeting him but I don't count! We met in the laundry room of the dorm on Super Bowl Sunday. I needed quarters really bad and we talked for about an hour or two that night. We have been together a little over two years.
38i met one guy at a bed, bath and beyond my second day at college. it didn't work out.
39i met another guy on a school sponsored cruise; he was a chef there, and i asked him to dance. we exchanged numbers and a month later, and i'm still seeing him
