The Republicans have called in their star Sarah Palin to headline a major fund-raising event in June. Fabulous! — think Democratic fundraisers.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is asking supporters to contribute some cash, so they can stop Sarah Palin and Republicans from blocking President Obama's agenda.
Democrats and Republicans have different opinions about whether Sarah Palin would make a good national leader. But both parties agree that she makes a good national fundraiser. Who's side do you think she helps more?

Definitely the Democrats, what's not to like. Her little kooky, wink wink nudge nudge act is stale and does nothing especially for me as a woman. I'd rather have a b*tch who knows what the heck she's doing than one who acts like she's clueless.
1I don't know if she helps one side more than the other, but I'm a Democrat and she sure scares the hell out of me. I would give money to almost anything that went against her and her beliefs. The idea of people backing her to lead our country is absolutely horrifying. As far as I'm concerned she is the female George Bush, one of the average people who does not know enough about politics or the world and could easily be manipulated. I believe John Cleese called her a very lovely parrot, sounds right to me.
2I wouldn't rush to contribute to the Dems because of Palin -I expect her glow to fade as people see her in action more over the next couple of years.
3I'd say Democrats simply because there seems to be a significant group of Republicans who either don't like her or even hate her, so I can't say she would rally all or close to all Republicans. And us Democrats seemed to be rallied just by Rush so Sarah Palin would probably do the trick too.
4I think both, she is a love it or hate it character and for all the people she inspires to vote for her there will be an equal number of people who will be inspired to vote against her.
I know for me, she made Obama look a lot better.
5At this point, I think it may be a toss up so I didn't vote.
6For now with the campaign still fresh enough in our minds and the jokes still having some relevance she helps the Dems. But look Sarah Palin was picked from the obscurity of Alaska and dropped into the middle of a global media fire storm. You have to admire any person who can take that on with out so much as a flinch and learn as much as she learned.
My word of advise to the Democrats do not get too wrapped up in Palin jokes because one day she just may make you the butt of them.
7I don't know anyone would could have stood up so well under the 24/7 carpet bombing she went through. Matter of fact the attacks from the media, and bloggers continues to this day.
I donate on a regular basis to SarahPAC, Gov. Palin's Political Action Committee www.sarahpac.com
In the first 3 days after her selection as McCain's running mate, over $10 million was donated to the campaign, whereas before donations were just trickling in. You can bet that when she appears at the upcoming GOP Senate and House fundraiser, there will be a full house, and lots of donations.
8Sarah is one of the better things to happen to the Republican party. The left folks are scared spitless of her, as they are of anyone they feel threatens their hero, BO. The continous attacks on her are a good sign someone has their boxers in a twist and want to see her go down in flames.
I am proud of my Governor!
9sarah is the best governor and the most dynamic politician in america--she is real--not a washington lawyer politician
10She is still around?
11Well I think Gingrich, Limbaugh, or Hannity would work just as well as a fund raiser.
12Absolutely, she is the future of America. Everywhere she goes she draws standing room only crowds, who absolutely support her.
Governor Palin is a true fiscal conservative, with almost 20 years of executive and business experience. She owns her own business, and has for a couple of decades.
Former city councilwoman.
Former two term Mayor
Former President of the Alaska Conference of Mayors
Former Chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. The largest regulatory body of it's kind.
Currently, Governor of Alaska
Currently, Chairman of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission. A multi state agency that deals with oil and natural gas issues, conservation, and environmental issues.
Currently, Chairman National Governor Association's Natural Resources Committee. (voted in unanimously by the 49 other Governors)
Governor Palin is a recognized authority on energy and environmental issues.
Currently, Co-Chair, National Republican Governors Association.
Governor Palin is a highly ethical politician, who isn't afraid to take on corruption where she finds it.
While she was running the AOGCC, she took on big oil, and beat them down. She also found corruption in her agency.
The end result?
She took down the entire leadership of the Republican party in Alaska! Then, she took down the sitting Republican Governor, beating him in a landslide!
Made the Republicans up there mad as hell! It wasn't until this year that they even featured her on their website!
This is the kind of person we want in DC. While she was tearing her party down, and creating sweeping ethics reforms, Barack Obama was cozying up to the biggest slime balls in Chicago. And, he's taken that ethic with him to Washington.
Palin, is simply America's Governor (c). Starting in 2013, she will be America's President.
13Looks like SarahPalin2012 got a hold of this thread. Scary...
14If this woman goes any further in politics is just shows how "silly" some Americans can truly be.

Oh you are so right Brandy, why would someone who supports Governor Palin EVER comment on a story devoted to Governor Sarah Palin? Doesn't make sense, does it.
Now that the sarcasm is out of the way, please tell me, in detail, why you think people who support Governor Palin are silly. Just what brings you to that conclusion? On what do you base that claim.
I 'm waiting.
15It'd be easier to take you seriously if you didn't play with the truth:
"Governor Palin is a true fiscal conservative, with almost 20 years of executive and business experience. She owns her own business, and has for a couple of decades."
Palin helps out with the family fishing business. She’s been in local and state politics since 1992.
"Governor Palin is a recognized authority on energy and environmental issues."
By certain oil companies maybe, but not by environmentalists, not by alternative energy experts…
“Governor Palin is a highly ethical politician, who isn't afraid to take on corruption where she finds it.”
Depends how you define ethical. She’s not above lying about her opponent or using hate speech to demean the positions of people with whom she disagrees. She’s not above misrepresenting her actions on the bridge to nowhere or earmarks. She’s not above billing the state of Alaska for reimbursements that she’s not actually entitled to. Oh, who built her house and who paid them?
“While she was running the AOGCC, she took on big oil, and beat them down. She also found corruption in her agency.”
She found corruption in people who stood in her way politically.
“She took down the entire leadership of the Republican party in Alaska! Then, she took down the sitting Republican Governor, beating him in a landslide!”
I think the Republicans in Alaska would take issue with whether she ‘took down the entire leadership’.
16STEPHLEY, I love you!!! You're awesome when it comes to knowledge of politics. I am not so strong. All I could say is that Sarah Palin's morals seem to be a bit off-kilter. Not to say that other politicians aren't, she just seems abnormal to me. I can't quite put my finger on it but I get a bad vibe about her. And it seems sad that people can't express their opinions on here without some Palin supporter DEMANDING to know why someone feels the way that they do. It's my opinion, if you don't like it who cares. Ladies, there is no need to justify anything to anyone if that's the way you feel. Bottom line!
17"STEPHLEY, I love you!!! You're awesome when it comes to knowledge of politics. I am not so strong."
Obviously not so strong, or you wouldn't be taking Stephley's word as gospel. Back up your statements with evidence, Steph. You can't claim the person you're debating is playing with the truth and then shoot back at him without citing sources for your "facts".
18good point Carrie Sue.
19ladeemahog, following your line of reasoning a cop could stop anyone , or pull over any car he got "bad vibes" from. Bad vibes can be used to dig deeper, but not in and of itself cause for action.
20So now you want a dissertation G'pa?
Information on Palin's career definitely falls under the 'her supporters should know this' and if you don't then why are you supporting her?
Her energy expertise is a matter of opinion and again, if you aren't aware that environmentalists don't think Palin's an authority, why are you supporting her?
As to her ethics, you know that Palin repeatedly referred to Obama's "socialism", and accused him of associating with a terrorist - claims you may approve but because Obama is not a socialist and his 'association' with Ayers was hyped by his opponents they raise questions about Palin's ethical standards. The questions about her house simply are questions.
Silly me - I totally forgot the whole thing about her brother in law and Palin's abuse of power!
The Alaska Republican party's leadership was not taken down by Palin and claims like that aren't going to endear her to them, which works for me.
21I was responding to ladeemahog. I prefer a society that makes decisions based on facts, as opposed to emotion. Emotion is volatile, and folks act who emotionally, when on sufficient reflection find they regret their emotional response.
22First, Governor Palin's energy and environmental bonafides are WELL documented, and except for the absolute fringe enviro-crazies, she is very well respected.
Not only do actual wildlife management experts applaud her efforts, the numbers prove she has a clue. Through positive predator management, the herds of dear, moose, caribou, and other game, all of which were in serious trouble, have are now thriving.
Now, energy and the environment run together. Not only did she have to deal with environmental issues at the AOGCC, but as Chairman of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (made up of other state Governors) she continually deals with environmentally sound ways of producing energy. It's what they do.
Currently, Alaska gets a full 25 percent of it's energy from renewable sources. That is Obama's goal for the nation. Palin has the goal of 50 percent of all of Alaska's energy coming from renewables by 2025. DOUBLE what the greenies want.
But her biggest contribution is FINALLY getting the natural gas pipeline on track. Alaska has wanted that deal for 30 years. Politicians have fought the oil companies and fought each other for 30 years over it.
She came in and got it done! Now of course, the usual suspects of Obama loyalists in Alaska, no doubt looking for the kind of payoff Kim Elton got from Obama (more on that in a minute), are trying to start trouble.
The difference is Sarah Palin isn't taking the bait. She's a hell of a lot stronger than those Obama lackeys.
Now, why is this natural gas line HUGE?
Well for one, NG is the cleanest fossil fuel there is. It's almost emissions free, which is why we cook with it indoors. And when burned in an automobile, it reduces emissions as much as 90 percent. Which makes it cleaner, net-net than an electric vehicle. (most electricity comes from coal fired plants)
The US automakers have been making cars, trucks, and buses that run on compressed natural gas (CNG) for decades! So this is an absolute no brainer. And makes more sense than chasing idiotic, and costly "green" technologies, that just don't work.
Even better, diesel engines particularly run well when converted to run on CNG. And we need diesel engines, because no electric motor is going to power a long haul rig.
Even better, in Alaska alone, there is an estimated 400 trillion cubic feet of recoverable natural gas. That is more than all of the oil reserves in the world. Now, America has vast pockets of NG all over. It would solve our energy needs, but it's Governor Palin's efforts that will get it done. She's the only one doing anything realistic on energy, clean, or otherwise!
As far as calling Obama a socialist, I agree, she erred.
Obama is a COMMUNIST! Plain and simple. Obama's mother and father were communist activists. His white grandparents, the Dunhams were well known communists.
When Obama Sr left Obama's mother, for the wife he already had in Kenya, she remarried Lolo Soetoro, and they went to Indonesia. Soetoro was a communist leader over there.
After a while, mama sent Obama back to Hawaii to live with her parents. There his mentor was well known communist (and admitted pedophile) Frank Marshal Davis.
Obama is a devotee of Saul Alinsky, the Chicago communist, who devoted his life to the overthrow of America. Alinsky is the "father of community organizing" Alinsky also wrote the book "Rules for Radicals" it is the bible that Obama uses to live by, as does all of the radical left.
So yes, Governor Palin was wrong. Obama is not a socialist, he is an all out COMMUNIST.
As Ronald Reagan was fond of saying: "A communist is someone who reads Marx. An anti-communist is someone who UNDERSTANDS Marx."
My guess is you don't understand communism, or you would see what Obama and his minions are doing and recognize it.
As for Obama's knowledge of Bill Ayers, give me a break! Their front doors in Chicago are about 1000 ft apart!
Obama launched his political career in Bill Ayers and his convinced felon cop killing second wife's living room!
Ayers and Obama met while Obama was in NY, and Michelle worked with Ayers convicted felon cop killing wife in Chicago.
It's common knowledge that Obama was an ACORN thug, and trained other ACORN thugs to go out and be thugs, so Obama's next deal worked out fine.
Obama worked daily with Bill Ayers at two different "foundations" devoted to overthrowing the government. Both were front groups to funnel money to ACORN as well as his racist church, Trinity United, and the radical Father Pfleager's little subversive enterprise.
For more on this, read what Dr Stanley Kurtz from the Ethics and Public Policy Center has put together, not only on Obama and Ayers very close contact, but his ACORN thug days, and how Obama and ACORN together played a HUGE part in causing the financial mess we are in.
http://www.eppc.org/scholars/scholarID.81,type.1/pub_list.asp
Too bad democrats were too lazy, or dumb to check this guy out before hand, like conservatives did. Only a fool would have voted for Obama knowing his ultra-radical friends and background.
Oh, And Bill Ayers.. He is a killer, whose rich father was able to get him out of trouble. Ayers founded the Weather Underground. A group that declared war on America.
The Underground bombed the United States Capitol building, The Pentagon, and NY City Police headquarters, just to name a few. Read their history. The bombed homes and businesses and recruiting centers, as well as many police stations. They didn't care who got hurt or killed.
And to this day, Ayers is totally unrepentant.
Now his second wife is a real piece of work. I mention second wife, because his first wife blew herself up along with two other Underground members, while she was making a firebomb to set off at a military dance!
Anyhow, Ayers' wife Bernadine Dohrn was convicted, after being on the FBI's 10 most wanted list, when she was involved in another Weather Underground caper involving the robbery of a Brinks truck. Two police officers and a security guard were killed.
Currently, the San Fransisco Police Union is trying to go after Ayers and Dohrn for a 1970 bombing of a San Fran police station where a police sargent was killed and several officers were severely injured.
THESE are Obama's good friends. And they may be some of the nicer ones!
Now, back to Governor Palin.
You have brought a subject I have really been into. And that's the so called "troopergate"
First off, that was a plot hatched by Barack Obama and some flunkies in Alaska. It ended up as a play for pay deal, when Obama rewarded Alaska Senator, Kim Elton a make work job at the Dept of Interior, for a job "well done"
Kim Elton, Hollis French, and Steven Branchflower put this whole BS deal together as an "October surprise" to hurt the Republican ticket. Typical dirt Chicago politics.
And NO, Sarah Palin wasn't found guilty of anything. In fact, upon review by the actual body responsible for looking into these kinda things, it was found that Stephen Branchflower's report was based on the wrong statute!
You can read it all for yourself:
http://hotrodsnitroandconservatism.blogtownhall.com/2009/03/10/with_sarah_palin,_barack_obama_shows_rod_blagojevich_how_pay_-for-play_is_done!.thtml
Here is the part that points out that Sarah Palin did NOTHING wrong, but the democrat thugs did.
"Within days of the election, the Juneau Empire, the capitol city’s newspaper, reported that a separate report by the personnel board cleared Governor Palin of any ethics violations, stating: "There is no probable cause to believe that the governor, or any other state official, violated the Alaska Executive Ethics Act in connection with these matters"
As if to punctuate the point further, Timothy Petumenos, an independent investigator for the Alaska Personnel Board, further said this: “Branchflower used a wrong statute as the basis for his conclusions, misconstrued the available evidence and did not consider or obtain all the material evidence to reach a proper finding.”
He went on further to state that his investigation included much more data, including additional e-mails of state personnel, including Palin.
Petumenos concluded that Palin did not seek the trooper's firing after she became Governor.
He stated: "Also absent from the evidence reviewed is any assertion that the Governor directed anyone in the Department of Public Safety to terminate Trooper Wooten, or directed anyone on her staff to seek the termination of Trooper Wooten,"
Of course, and again, the best evidence of this is the fact that Trooper Wooten, is still, Trooper Wooten!
Now even though Governor Palin was cleared of all charges, the deed was done. Her reputation, 4 days before the election of a US President, had been tarnished.
And obviously, the newly elected President of the United States, Barack Obama is very pleased with the good work that Kim Elton, Hollis French, Stephen Branchflower, and Beth Kerttula performed.
As a reward for his part, Senator Kim Elton was rewarded by the Obama administration with a plum assignment in the US Interior Department, where he will serve as Director of Alaska Affairs under Secretary Ken Salazar. Obviously, this is of concern, because in his position Elton will be able to interfere with many environmental and energy initiatives that Governor Palin, and the Alaskan people want, as many of these do not fit well with the left wing of the democrat party’s agenda.
The bottom line is this. Barack Obama has clearly paid off Kim Elton for “services rendered”
On the behalf of Mr. Obama, Mr Elton, with his cast of co-conspirators clearly succeeded in interfering with the election of a United States President."
As far as taking down the Alaskan Republican Party, yup, she sure did.
Palin filed a formal complaint against Oil and Gas Conservation Commissioner Randy Ruedrich, also the chair of the state Republican Party, accusing him of doing work for the party on public time and of working closely with a company he was supposed to be regulating.
She also joined with Democratic legislator Eric Croft to file a complaint against Gregg Renkes, a former Alaskan Attorney General, accusing him of having a financial conflict of interest in negotiating a coal exporting trade agreement, while Renkes was the subject of investigation and after records suggesting a possible conflict of interest had been released to the public.
Ruedrich and Renkes both resigned and Ruedrich paid a record $12,000 fine.
Others were involved, but you get the point.
I respect the hell out of someone who doesn't care who is doing something wrong, they still go after them!
Sarah Palin is that kind of person. And yeah, she made some enemies on both sides. That just means she's doing something RIGHT.
23HOLY COW! This is the first time I have seen a horizontal scroll on this site!
24But sadly, not the first looney rant. Sounds like Auntie Cooza's back.
25"looney rant", where is that paragon of reason we know and love, Steph?
26She ran screaming from the room at "Obama is a communist" - the ridiculousness was just too much to bear.
27Well, I assume this Gary person won't be on sugar for very long, what with all the attacks and name calling. Just shows a typical Palin supporter's attitude. When someone points out your fallacies and misinformation, attack them.
28No...BrandyNico, I'm right here.
Point out one single lie I have told. And be prepared to back it up.
I have provided proof for every single thing I have posted.
You and Steph are typical haters. You don't care about the facts, just the hate. And then when someone challenges your lies or irrational hate, you'd rather attack that person, that prove your point.
I would think you two would be the ones skating on thin ice.
Now I can't help it if you can't handle the truth. But reality is setting in very fast. Every day Barack Obama is moving closer to his goal of destroying America.
Maybe you need to go and learn some history. I'd say Germany from 1925 to 1939. This would be a very good primer for what is about to happen here.
The only good news is more and more people are waking up. Again, the latest Zogby poll has Obama at 50 percent approval the lowest ever for a new president and 50 disapprove, the highest ever.
I trust Rasmussen a tad more, and they have Obama at 54 approve and 46 disapprove.
Either way, people are waking up and coming out from under the either.
Look around you. Every weekends 10's of thousands are coming together all over the nation, conservatives, moderates. Republicans, independents and blue dog democrats. They are having massive tea parties. They are networking. They are getting ready to act.
Come 2010, if we still have elections, the democrats and moderate republicans (or as we call them, democrat light) will be done. The backlash will be harsh. There will be a conservative majority in both houses.
And Obama already knows he is a one term president. That's why he and the rest of the dems are trying so hard to destroy America before 2012, hoping to create that communist utopia.
Well, thankfully, we have Sarah Palin warming up.
She has already confronted corruption, stood up to big oil, and actually ran a government.
Now, if have anything else to say, try backing it up with some facts.
29If Sarah Palin is so irrelevant like the Dems want everyone to believe, then why even use Palin's name in fundraising. They should take a lesson from what they tried to do to Rush Limbaugh. Now more people are listening to him.For someone who is supposed to be so stupid, at least she doesn't have to take a teleprompter with her everywhere she goes.
30becpt...You said it!
I love John Ziegler's lasted column about the Governor over at Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood:
http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/jziegler/2009/03/26/sarah-palin-proves...
31With all the buyers remorse setting in, and 0bama's job approval rating dropping down to just over 50 percent, he may well reach Bush's level by the end of the summer.
Impeach 0bama, NOW
Palin 2012
32I think Gov. Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air compared to the stale, socialist politics of BO and his gang of tax cheats and thugs from Chicago. Gov. Palin is one of the most fiscally responsible and popular governors in the country. She may not be perfect, but she is the real deal. I think people who voted for BO are still trying to figure out what he is, including BO himself.
33Judging from their profiles here, Palin's staff has found a new past time.
34I know! All of these "members" coming out of nowhere, not one of them with more than 6 points. Screams Palin staff to me.
35Or linked article.
36The Democrats dismiss Sarah Palin at their own risk
37I rather like this site, you all seem to be so friendly and kind to each other. It feels like a neighborhood I lived in, eons ago!
I don't like the snide comments about my Governor, though. She has done a lot of good for Alaska and Alaskans. In fact, until the spin machine of the left started invading us to look for gossip, rumors, lies and folks willing to provide these, the majority of Alaskans had nothing bad to say about her. She is the Governor of the largest state of the United States. Our state is so wide-spread, with folks found hither and yon all over the state, is was quite easy for corruption and selfish spending to occur with no one available to provide oversight. Sarah has set things straight since coming into office.
Since it appears Grandpa has the graciousness to interact with folks (new or not, Palin supporters or not) I suggest you all gather at his knee and soak up some learnin'!
38Oh, and BRANDYNICOLE730, I could only wish to be on Sarah's staff. With the current national admin, my retirement funds are half of what they were a year ago, with over 1/3 lost since 'the one' took office.
I'm just a proud Alaskan, not paid one thin dime!
39Yea! we need more people here to recommend etiquette lessons to people while calling them "liars" and "typical haters".
40I think the term was "liberal troll."
41Alaske may be the largest state, but the population is less than that of the city I live in.
42Doh! Alaska
43Is Sarah a better rallying tool for the dems or republicans?
Hmmm, seems like she is better for the republicans to me.
The liberal-slanted media scream anything she speaks, the lib-slanted media blow out of proportion anything she does, even when it's something that normally would be viewed as COMENDABLE.
So, it looks like the dems are kinda scared of her to me.
If they weren't, we wouldn't be seeing these "loaded" questions.
44I am a conservative, and I can say I was initially motivated by Sarah Palin. Since then, I can definately say that the biggest motivation is Obama, and he is quickly spurring a huge revival among conservatives. Obama has awaken the sleeping dragon. There could be no better way to promote conservatism that the current situation of a liberal pres. and congress, and the horrendous havoc they are reeking on the country. The liberals are quickly alienating many democrats, and enraging conservatives, and there will be no one else to blame for the mess that liberals are causing. Liberals will be forced to take responsibility. Unfortunately, we all have to live with the consequences and pay off the debt. Atleat many are seeing the true side of Obama, Pelosi, Frank, Dodd, Reid and the rest of them, and not liking what they see, are already trying to distance themselves. This is great for the republicans. Obama is the best weapon ever against the party that elected him.
45What's with all the new avatar-less members commenting? Did a bunch of people join this site just to comment on this?
46genesisrocks
Is that some sort of problem for you?
47It's a little strange. I didn't think Sarah was such a controversial topic. I mean compared to other politicians and issues she's pretty new on the scene, it doesn't seem like there should be this much strong loyalty to her.
48Golly Gary, try reading another thread here - you're clearly not as familiar with the site as you think.
49I wonder what else you haven't studied carefully enough before broadcasting your thoughts.
Steph, I think Gary has made some salient points with regards to Sarah Palin, and her actual accomplishments. I do believe the smear machine that attacked Sarah Palin and HER FAMILY, encouraged and supported by the MSM was about the worst I have ever seen in trying to destroy her. I have not seen any on the side of the left, ever present documentation of her mismanagement as a governor. Lots of innuendo though
Since we have people here now that are from Alaska, and knowledgeable, might I suggest that the case against Sarah Palin be limited to documented acts, and let her defenders defend.
I think attacks on POTUS, and his administration is not useful here and is a distraction.
Let’s not attack each others integrity or intelligence.
