In an extensive interview with WWD, Suze Orman spreads her usual antidebt message. But she also gets political, taking on George W. Bush. She says:
Commander in chief? You blew up every single financial vessel we had and if you think you aren't personally responsible, well, the blame starts at the top. There is no higher top than you, SIR! If I were you, I would feel so absolutely horrific that I would take every penny I had and distribute it to anybody and everybody to help them in whatever way I could. You owe the American people every penny of your fortune and your family's fortune.
Instead, Bush will be making a reported $7 million to write about his decision-making process, which Suze's obviously not a fan of.
Do you agree that the buck stops with Bush? Would you take his money?

Manoush
and Suze doesn't owe any of her fortune to the American people? I'm very confused.
1I think for the sake of fixing things and preventing repetition in the future, the mistakes and bad policies of the Bush Adminstration have to be acknowledged and studied.
But Orman can't blame Bush when - considering how she makes her living - she says something as idiotic as this:
"She does acknowledge she failed to see rampant corruption in the financial system but says it wasn’t completely her fault. “How do you call a market when the people that are running the banks and the brokerage firms are lying to you through their teeth?” Orman says. “How do you call anything? I WAS NAIVE ENOUGH enough that I just believed them all.”
Of course, there were a number of people — from economists like Joseph Stiglitz and Nouriel Roubini to financial writers like William Greider — who predicted the financial crisis would unfold almost exactly as it did. “YEAH, BUT I WASN'T LISTENING TO THEM,” Orman says."
2Wow. Just wow.
3Suze Orman is a joke.
4susan lynn orman, please Shush it. youre a fake.
5Yeah, much like the 90% bonus tax, wishful thinking but not remotely realistic.
6I wouldn't take anyone's money.
7CRAZY
8I like that she's calling him out for what he is, very gutsy.
9Well, aside from her political beliefs, can't we all agree that she's kickass at financial advice?
10"can't we all agree that she's kickass at financial advice?"
Um, no. If she would like to give all of her money to people, that is fine, but that is not good financial advice.
11I don't think super was saying that giving money to people is good financial advise. I'm making the assumption that she was speaking about Miss Orman telling people how to save. For example, I like how she told people the best investment we can make right now is to pay off our credit cards. Amazing how a person can make a statement about 2 seperate issues in one sentence, seperated by a comma, huh?
12Exactly, Brandy.
