When you're dating or in a relationship, it's always fun to treat each other to little gifts. You can surprise him or her with something small to make them smile, like a pint of their favorite ice cream, or you can give a more meaningful gift, like that BBQ he had his eye on. Presents that make you laugh out loud are always fun too, like these hilarious bacon bandages, but the amount of money spent doesn't really matter. So tell me, what's the best gift you've ever received in a relationship?

My favorite gift is not really a gift -- letters he writes me are my favorite, because he expresses himself better in writing than in words. I always appreciate those. Next is a hand made gift, he's made me oragami flowers in my favorite colors which I adore.
As for bought gifts -- Vera Wang flowers in my favorite colors, which I love more than the standard red, and of course, the beautiful tiffany's necklace he bought me Christmas of '07. It has a white gold heart, and a pearl that goes through it and drops. It's absolutely beautiful.
1Since I was little I wanted a ring with my birth stone. On our anniversary he got me a ring with a matching necklace and I was so touched. It made me feel like a little kid on Christmas morning.
2My Wacom tablet. He drove around on my every whim on my birthday and let me look at any store I wanted, and even drove and forth so I could decide what I wanted. I finally found the tablet...and was estatic!
3But more than the tablet, he didn't give me any attitude for wanting to go in every store, press buttons, ooh and aah over girl things... look at puppies in the pet store window...lol. A wonderful day.
A big stuffed unicorn. I was just kidding when I told him to bring me a unicorn for my birthday. But he found one.
4I suppose I gotta keep my vintage platinum wedding set out of this decision... so I'll go with an awesome hot pink beach cruiser with white wall tires and white basket that we found at a thrift store after we had been dating for 2 months.
5A pair of jeans out of the blue- I hate buying pants more than anything in the world and to just have a pair show up unexpectedly was the best! I've appointed him my personal shopper.
6Tickets to Matchbox 20 concert ... and his favorite is the Burt's Bees shaving kit I got him.
7Well....
My boyfriend got me a car lol. So that was pretty nice!!!
And he also bought me gorgeous diamond earrings which I cherish.
8Besides his love, a beautiful promise ring, and a couple journey diamond necklaces. He bought me alot of jewelry over the years, but those are my favourites.
9A locket with our daughter's initials on the back for my first Mother's Day. I wasn't expecting anything so it was very surprising. Besides my ring it's my favorite piece of jewelry.
10I love when my husband makes me silly little things, like flowers made of tissue paper, or an xmas ornament with our names on it. Of course I also love my diamond and platinum engagment ring!

12Sewing table. I knew I was getting a sewing machine for Christmas because I told him to buy it, but I didn't know he even knew what a sewing table was so I was very surprised when he brought it in. He's not very creative when it comes to gifts (if anyone remembers my peanut butter and apple juice story...) so the table was a nice surprise. I liked it more than the sewing machine!
13I feel pretty luck everyday is usually a gift. I wake up to my coffee made and my note for the day. I will get an email or text if he doesn't leave me note. I get flowers randomly but he usually buys me things I collect or need. We're home remodeling so that's our currnet present to each other. I got us a dog the other day just couldn't resist.
14It's tough, but I think my favorite present was actually something he sent me via snail mail only a month after we had started dating: a collection of cds he burned me with all of his favorite salsa (and other latin) music. It was accompanied by a beautiful handwritten letter. It was just so thoughtful... not to mention the time it must have taken him to burn all that music! Plus, I am really into music and dance, so it was a perfect gift. Ahhh, memories =)
15My boyfriend lives in England and he was vacationing at Majorca one summer so I was totally bummed.. but halfway through the week I hear a knock on my door and the nice delivery guy is like "From Mr. Alex?" The boy sent me flowers
Hee. Next to that I'd say this ring he'd
been wearing non-stop since he was 13. I've been wearing it for two years and a half years.
16-years
We soo need an edit button!
17He made me blueberry infused vodka which I thought was so sweet esp. since it required some forethought. His fave gift from me was a beer brewing kit. Ha! This post makes us sound like drunkards!
18My daughter:)
19A simple necklace with a single diamond that I never take off.
20My sons
21The best gifts were always handmade and creative. One sweetie recorded "Wonderwall" for me, another recorded my favorite Promise Ring song. One of the great loves of my life used to make little collages and what-have-you. I'd rather have these things than fancy jewelry any day.
22Not long after we met, my fiance made me a mixed cd of a songs that he thought I would like. Its the best cd I have ever owned.
23A homemade recipe book filled with all of the recipes we have cooked together and we keep adding to it.
24For Valentine's Day last year he surprised me with a beautiful 22" LG lcd computer monitor. I wasn't expecting it and plus I'm a huge geek, so it was amazing. On our first anniversary he bought me a promise ring which I haven't taken off since
25My boyfriend likes surprising me with gifts when I do well at school such as pajamas and a cute handbag. He has really good taste.
However, my favorite gift was the snowboarding trip he took me on for Valentine's Day where he spent hours patiently teaching me how to snowboard and pulling me up when I kept falling. I thought it was really sweet how he stayed on the bunny slopes with me all day when he's an expert.
26A PUPPY!
27my frenchie Bruno!!
28When I was 18 my then boyfriend gave me a personalized copy of "Oh the Places You Will Go" by Dr. Seuss. He had it printed up with information about my future plans before I headed to college. It was special because it took time and because my mother had given me one when I was little that was partially destroyed in a fire. Even though we broke up long ago I still have it.
29my amazing puppy! we saw Babar on an email from his breeder, and he came with me on the two hour flight there for moral support... when I was playing with my new little guy, he paid for him! i was so touched
30For our anniversary, my boyfriend wrote me a poem. Poetry's really not his cup of tea, and I love it, so I know he worked really, really hard on it. I cried my eyes out over it =] He's also a big fan of small silly gifts .. like surprising me with flowers, and stuff. He's a sweetie
31Since guys I have dated have never been romantic or anything I don't really have anything handmade or thoughtful. SAD BUT TRUE!
The message my boyfriend wrote in my valentines card was cute&nice but it wasn't really a gift. The guys I have dated have made up for being emotionally stunted by buying me stupidly expensive gifts. My ex gave me an iPhone, a 12" Powerbook, a digital camera, a bike, a heart rate monitor... All I wanted was his affection and he just bought me expensive stuff instead.
My boyfriend gave me a samsung monitor for my birthday and a tiffanys necklace for christmas. He also spent a ton of money on sexy lingerie for me.
This time though I have the affection&love AND the material gifts. I'd be OK with just the love&affection or a dirty weekend away though.
32We've been together for about 1 and a half years. He's already given me everything like half carat diamond studs, pearl studs, and a strand of pearls, but the best thing I've received is the feeling I get when I'm with him. He knows how to make me smile when I'm down and smile even bigger when I'm happy. Sorry for sounding so cliche.
33I appreciate and love everything my husband has ever given me, from the bouquet of daisies he picked for me behind his workplace to the gold unicorn pendant necklace that I wear all the time. As long as it's from him, it means something to me!
34One time my boyfriend sent me a mix cd out of the blue. I had no idea so it was just awesome. He also surprised me one day with a really nice make up kit. He tried so hard to buy something that would match my skin color. It was adorable. He does so many wonderful things for me!
35He made me a mixtape of all the jazz songs that I love. An ex boyfriend also gave me a ring with my birth stone.
36A then boyfriend in college who surprised me at a class break with two dozen red roses. No reason, just because. Sweet and unexpected.
37diamond earrings. but there is a back story. everytime my husband went on a business trip he would bring me a magnet for the fridge. i hate them
i kept telling him NOT to bring them to me and he just kept
bringing them. and they were stupid, not creative or cute, which he got the biggest kick out of
so anyway, one time he comes home and hands me a bag from an airport gift store and says "for YOUR collection" and laughs. i threw the bag back at him and told him to keep her stupid
magnet
"no, no. THIS is a special addition" he says. so i opened the bag and there was a
little blue box, and inside were my diamond earrings. i like that story
38When we had been dating for a few months, my cat got really sick and needed very expensive (like, thousands of dollars) surgery. I was so upset b/c I was in grad school and couldn't figure out how I was going to afford it, when I called into the vet and they told me that it "had been taken care of."
Turns out my now-husband called every cat clinic in the area (he didn't know where I took her) and paid for the surgery, plus her follow-up care. I have never been so touched by a single act in my life. We and our other pets are one big happy family now.
39I know this sounds kinda weird but the best gift from my bf now ex was just him being there for me all the time. I think that's the best gift any girl could want. A guy that cares for you and listens to you all the time especially when you need him the most.
40a handmade card (read: piece of printer paper folded into quarters) with a really crooked, badly-drawn heart on the front. he did it in ballpoint pen and there are ink smudges, but it was the sweetest gesture and i'm never ever throwing it away.
41Lickety, that's really cute!!
An ex once got me a box of Cadbury chocolate chip cookies when I was stuck in my room with a nasty flu. It doesn't sound that impressive, but we'd started dating fairly recently, and it was the first time we were seeing each other in about 10 days because I was too weak to even open my eyes - and he showed up with that box of cookies. It was so sweet I stood there not knowing what to say, and literally teared up.
42I always get to decide on my gifts which I love cause I get what I want, I also got my girls which top them all, but besides that my husband and I have been together 7 years total and I would always tell him I'm glad we have girls cause I will be able to buy them all the barbies in the world which says a lot cause I still cry about the huge barbie collection that my grandmother stole from me to give to my cousin. yeah, she was special like that. After that I stoped collecting but a week ago my husband shows up with the first edition "before and after 50th anniversay barbie along with a bunch others and told me I can have my very own collection again, but I am not allowed to let the girls touch them
which I can do. it was so sweet and I LOVE them! so now I'm a 27 year old mother and wife
with a brand new barbie collection. LOL. I am going to keep the collection growing this time for sure, now that grandma's gone. Oh and Lickety your story is so funny.
43the time spent... the love & care he shows.. the songs he sings for me.. just by being near - they were all gifts that nothing can compare.
44shoes
45When I was in the States last summer my fiance sent me this tiny trinket box with a small metal pebble like shape that had "love" written on it. I loved it so much because it was so out of the blue and it made my day.

47Beside love, jewelry, and how hard he works for us...I would have to say our doggie...who brings me joy every single day.
48A pair of beautiful, custom made for me (and self designed) moccasin boots, my kitten, and my Nikon. I have an amazing husband-everything he gives me is perfect.
49Materialistically speaking: one week in a suite at the Broadmoor in CO (we live in Cali).
50What really counts: afternoons at the park, just relaxing. Usually for hours and hours.
