I am so embarrassed!! I was at my best friend's housewarming party on Friday night and excused myself to go to the restroom. Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling that great and let's just say nature called!! I am not sure if it was her new plumbing or just a sensitive flusher, but I overflowed her toilet!!!

Instead of copping up to what could easily be fixed, I snuck around through the kitchen and pretended like I was fixing myself a drink instead of being in the bathroom and didn't say a word, to anyone. I thought I was going to get away with my disgusting accident Scot free until my best friend grabbed me in horror to tell me she just saw toilet water coming out of the bathroom!!
I of course helped her clean up the mess, but never owned up to being the culprit. I know what I did was despicable, but is it forgivable? I still feel terrible two days later!

no harm no foul-you ended up cleaning it up anyway-actually, it is very funny.
1I voted forgive, but seriously honey, learn how to stop a toilet when it begins to overflow and next time, make a pre-emptive strike by cleaning/stopping the overflow before it becomes of epic proportions!
2forgive.. its not such a big deal
3That's one of those things that's not a big deal, but so embarrassing!! I understand your desire to run for it. You wound up cleaning it up anyway.
4o sick lollol, its forgiving tho, dont ever tell a soul
5This is sort of gross and funny, and definitely forgiveable!
Danni, how _do_ you stop an overflowing toilet? I've never been in this predicament but it would certainly be a good thing to know just in case!
6Actually it didnt overflow but I forgot to flush this morning.
7How mortifying! Definitely forgivible. I wouldn't mention it b/c your friend might get upset that you didn't own up to begin with.
popgoestheworld - Most toilets have a water valve in the wall right below the toilet tank. You can turn the knob and the water going to the tank will shut off & it won't overflow
8Forgivable. I would stay have told her when she came to you but I can see why you would have been embarassed.
9forgiveable. there wasnt much you could have done and its not like you overflowed it deliberatly
10as long as you helped clean it up, forgivable. i don't know why you'd be so embarrassed by this as to not tell your friend about it. if she ends up hating you for it, then she's not a good friend. a good friend would laugh with you (not at you), and hand you a plunger.
11forgive.
12Totally forgivable. I understand that some people are shy about that sort of thing, and you cleaned it up anyway!
13Oh, forgivable. I think we all do things like this at some point when we're embarrassed. And besides, you helped her clean it up. Just handle it next time, that's all.
14Not gonna lie. I probably would have done the same thing. Well... not to my bf... but that's not the point. Totally forgiven.
15Come on-no one wants to confess to something like that-forgiveable.
16Definitely forgivable....... Give yourself a break it's not like you did it intentionally. I think most people would have done the same thing and not admitted to it.Besides you ended up having to clean it anyway and IMO that's the lesser of the two evils.
17I have done this before. it didn't overflow but I stopped it up. haha. i was babysitting for the first time and couldn't find the plunger. well, i was neer asked back hahaha
18Forgive, accidents do happen. Don't be so hard on yourself. *hugs*
19Forgive... Never tell though
20Forgive! It happens to EVERYONE at least once in their life...maybe twice...
21you cleaned it so youre ok... haha ha that is like my biggest feat.
22at least she helped clean it up at the end.
23no big deal...you helped her clean it up, so that counts for something. next time just make sure you know how to turn the water off. it's something i had to learn the hard way!!! and i agree that you shouldn't tell her it was you! hahaha
24oh that's funny! just keep it to yourself. definitely forgivable. i just am amazed at how many people don't know you can turn the water off at the wall.
25and courtesy flush!
Popgoestheworld- to stop an overflowing toilet, the fastest thing to do is to take the lid off the back and lift up the plastic or metal arm that leads to the round balloon looking globe. That globe is what tells the toilet it is full, and when you lift it, the water will stop running. Then you can either do a one handed plunge, or reach behind the stool and turn the water valve to the off position.
26Forgive. LOL You helped clean it up! Next time, ummm, flush throughout nature's call so...things don't get backed up. LOL
27OMG! How embarrassing!! I say forgive because you ended up helping to clean it and nobody else got blamed for it. I probably would have done the same thing!
28lololol - totally forgive
29i think that this story is hilarious. my best friend would laugh her ass off. Its kind of embarrassing but stuff happens! dont sweat it too much. I can see why you didnt want everyone at the freakin housewarming party to know though. LOL
this is one of those things that just happens to everybody, if it hasnt yet, it totally will. ha ha
30Who hasn't this happened to? It happened to me on my first day at a new job- horribly embarrassing, but no one ever found out!
31forgive! accidents and embarassing moments happen.
32Totally forgivable! I'm sure she doesn't really want to know who caused it either, just wants to clean it up and forget about it!! You'll look back on this and chuckle to yourself.
33Next time...don't use too much toilet paper at one time then try to flush it.
It's kind of funny and embarassing. I forgive you because you actually help the clean up..PLUS, has it ever occurred to you that someone/everyone may suspect that it's YOU, but they're keeping mum because it IS quite an embarassing thing to discuss.
34I would have done the same because OMG that is embarassing!!!!
35Ha Ha Ha! That must have been some dump! I can't stop laughing. Oh you poor thing. I would forgive you when I stopped laughing about it! HA HA
36forgive. you helped clean it up so you did your duty but thats so funny!
37hehe this is kinda funny to me!! haha totally forgiveable tho!! maybe a little embarassing but hey we all have our moments!
38r you shure she didnt know, maybee she was embaressed for you, id be, next time look for a plunger, forgive, of course.
39aww, poor thing. i'm sorry that happened. =(
40definitely forgive!!
It's nothing! You should just have a good laugh about it!
41[:
It's kinda funny...own up to it and you both will probably laugh about it!
42forgiven!!
43so forgiven...don't worry about it! i would have done the same thing, haha
44Omg that is Halarious!!! Totally forgiveable because I would have done the same thing. And you did have to clean it up anyways so....no harm done.
45It's funny. I say forgive. I did the same thing except mine was in a church!!
46forgive definitely!
hun, you helped clean it up so don't worry!
think of it this way: maybe she's glad she doesn't know who the culprit was anyway... it's not like it'll make a huge difference if you had owned up to it
47It happens. Some toilets are crappy like that... hehe. But next time this happens, before the water has a chance to flow out of the toilet take some and just push the poop back inside the toilet. Sometimes the poop is too large to get through and just needs a little push. I'm not kidding. It works like a charm.
P.S. don't tell your friend. It's too late for that, just learn your lesson for the next time.
48forgive - it happens to the best of us
49Good times
