Well, I've never been married....but a friend of mine got married last summer and while she and the groom were lighting the unity candle, she dripped the wax all the way down the front of her dress. It looked horrible, but she didn't even notice until halfway through the reception!

My ex's brother got married to this totally snobby control freak. She had her wedding at an arboretum in late October (it was on a pond, freezing cold, and because of the wind nobody could hear anything, and she was an hour late after freaking out on the whole wedding party about sticking to her 15 minute increment schedule.), and then she did her receiving line at the same place, still freezing, but now we were standing in a huge line. (i get that it's her day, but would a little consideration for the comfort of the guests be too much to ask?)

It was so satisfying to tell her that the shuttles from the ceremony to the reception weren't dropping people off in front of the very expensive (she made sure we all knew the cost) flower arch, but at the service entrance so all of the guests had to go through the kitchen.

And then she was 4 hours late for the reception breakfast the next day, making more than a dozen people who had flown in from Australia miss their flights. Bear in mind that for months she had been freaking out on the whole wedding party about sticking to her 15 minute increment schedule for the weekend.

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding 2 summers ago...the bride was running late to the rehersal dinner, so I picked up her dress for her and brought it to the church the night before the ceremony. Half an hour before she was set to walk down the aisle, we shimmy her into her dress to find it had been altered about 3 inches too small! We tried absolutely everything we could think of (for future reference...have the bride remove her bra, take a big deep breath in, and let it all out...and yank that zipper!). The ceremony started 15 minutes late and she couldn't breathe, but we got her in it!

My chauffer left with the mens boutannieres and my throw away bouquet in the limousine, so some of my wedding photos that had the guys in it to be taken without them until he returned (about 20 minutes later). Thank god there really was no harm done......

my friends wedding morning, she woke up with 4 large cold sores on her lips. She was so sad and they tried to cover them up with lipstick but...she was beautiful anyway!

This happened at my cousins wedding over a year ago. The DJ announces it is time for the bouquet toss in five minutes. My cousin forgot to order a second bouquet! She didn’t want to give up hers and the other bridesmaids didn’t want to give up theirs either. So I took the long white ribbon from around my waist and started to yank flowers from the little arrangements on the head table. It was a short stemmed bouquet, but with the long white ribbon, no one would tell and it looked great. So I gave it to my cousin to throw, and as soon as she did, it landed on the floor and went in every direction! But the best part was everyone got a piece of the bouquet. No one knew I had just put it together two minutes earlier.

The wedding and the reception all went fine, but I started my period that morning, so the wedding night and honeymoon were not as productive as I would have liked!

I feel for you rubialala, the same thing happened to me the morning of my wedding. You would think we would have planned around this. LOL

my wedding day was actually quite smooth. the only thing i had issues with was that my hairdresser saw the picture of how i wanted my hair done, and she said it looked "messy". it really made me mad, because i had purposely gotten it done exactly how i wanted it and took a picture of it because i was getting it done by a different person on the day of my wedding (i lived out of state, so i couldn't have her practice on me previously). so her telling me it looked messy sent me into panic mode and i hated the way my hair turned out. once i had my makeup and dress on, though, it turned out to look okay. other than that, things went really smoothly! i was lucky.

I had an outdoor wedding, we had tents up and music, out in the country near a state park... the someone drove by and mooned us. I didn't find out until afterwards because I was faced the other way, and the road was far away. But some of the family still talks about it. Even though it happened, it was still a magical day!

I was at this wedding where the bride was drunk before the ceremony even started... oh wait that was my wedding. A piece of useful advice, don't stop to get a drink before the wedding as our one drink turned into two and a half thanks to some very nice patrons of our favorite bar. Luckily I sobered up half way through the wedding a bit, but I have some really funny wedding photos

Actually mine went well

I had a full-fledged panic attack in the shower that morning. Not to mention having slept VERY poorly the night before! I remember getting in the shower, wetting my hair, putting shampoo in it, and seriously seeing my entire life flash before my eyes as I gasped for air. (I had a similar experience snorkeling in Mexico one time.) I rinsed my hair out as quickly as I could, turned the water off and ran and got back in the bed! So my joke will always be that I didn't bathe on my wedding day. (Don't worry, I showered again once we got to the hotel after the wedding!)

I'm sure some are worth thinking back and having a good laugh about all your incidents.

I was getting dressed in the hotel when there was a fire alarm! I had to run down 6 flights of stairs in my wedding dress. I have some great pictures with fireman though, and me in my wedding dress!
Right after that, the car service that was supposed to pick me up to take me to my wedding ceremony didn't show up. I was on the phone with the car service guy, and he kept insisting he did pick me up. I said "It wasn't me, it was someone else. You know how you will know it's me? I'm wearing a BIG WHITE DRESS. A WEDDING DRESS. Do you know WHY? I have to GET TO MY WEDDING!!!!!" The hotel bellboy heard me freaking out and he got me another car service.

My BF got married in June on a relatively nice day (maybe 80deg tops), but the church had no air conditioning, which she of course didn't realize until the rehearsal dinner. It wasn't too bad for the guests, but there were huge windows that had all this bright sunlight shining on those of the us standing up. Midway through the ceremony, her brother who was standing across from me ran out of the church for about 5 minutes. Turns out he was so hot he thought he was going to pass out and ran outside to throw up. Thankfully the bride and groom didn't even see him run out or come back in.

i'm not married yet (one month to go) but i keep reminding my self that no matter what happens the important thing is me, my honey, and our vows.

My wedding day went really smooth. Except to get to the altar my husband and I had to walk up about 4 steps and I almost feel. Thankfully no one noticed but my hubby and I joke about it now =)

Everything on my weding day went smoothly until right before the ceremony. My maid of honor forgot to bring the rings from the church's parlor (where we got dressed) to the sanctuary, and for some reason no one was allowed to get back into the parlor during the wedding (stupid church policy), so we had to get married with my sister's fake cubic zirconia ring that didn't fit and only went about halfway up my finger, and my brother-in-law's wedding ring that was way too big for his finger! It all turned out alright anyway though! I also stumbled by stepping on my dress walking back down the aisle after the ceremony, but my husband caught me.

During my sister's wedding there were a few glitches but nothing major. When my dad went to hand my sister off to her soon to be husband, he was stepping away and stepped on the train of her dress. She took a step and almost got yanked backward. Everyone chuckled fortunately and the wedding went on.

Then at the reception the DJ played the wrong song for their first dance. It was supposed to be an Al Green song, well, it was an Al Green song but not the right one. My sister was a little irritated but she laughed it off..what else could they do?

Everything else went off without a hitch and it was a beautiful ceremony

At my aunt's wedding, they decided to release doves as the new bride and groom triumphantly run down the church steps, and one of the doves flew askew and into the groom's uncle's face, and BROKE HIS NOSE, and the bird was killed. True story.

I went to a wedding where the bride was so drunk she passed out before they even had a chance to cut the cake!!

I got married 5 days ago to the man I love & have been with for 10 years, I would have loved the cake to fall on the floor, or something like that.
Unfortunately, no one will remember the romantic ceremony, the delicious dinner, the flawless first dance, the perfect music & DJ, and my funny Emcee.
Mine will be remembered as the wedding where my best man's kid got tin a fist-fight with my husband's nephews while everyone watched! It was like junior high! I broke up the fight in the rain in my gown, and tried to get everyone to come back in or to leave, but it escalated, my 70 year old mother in law got pushed and everyone left before wedding cake and the late buffet that was made by a professional chef (I have lots of leftovers guys if you want to come over!)
The worst part is, my best man's kid kept worrying if he got married at the same hall, one of the people working there would ruin his day! (he gets married in April)
My matron of honour was in tears and went I went to the washroom to get her a kleenex, 6 women were talking about how they couldn't wait to leave, that it was the worst wedding they had ever seen!
So, I went and bought all friends that actually stayed (like 10 people) shots at the bar, sent my DJ home early, and sang Que Sera Sera in my gown.
The worst thing is, we are the "party house" that everyone comes over for parties and holidays....what should I do?
I am debating to cancel everything until I don't feel horrible anymore or should I just suck it up and pretend it wasn't that bad?
We just bought a house and put all our money left on the wedding so no honeymoon....now I know why people elope.
