I don't blame them. It was pretty bad.
1Again with going to liberal blogs for news about the GOP?
Come on!
2it was bad,i stumbld across when i was looking for something to watch and i just cringed for him but it isn't that big a deal...............
3Butt injections? I'm so behind the times
4Jindal's got a little time to redeem himself I think - though I have heard last night's speech called Jindal's Dean Scream.
5Did George Will never notice Bush kissing Lieberman, or any Saudi Prince who came near him?
I wanted to know why Jindal was standing near a staircase. He was awful. Something was just off.
6"Butt injections? I'm so behind the times "
7I don't know what to say about some of the quotes from the butt injection article.
8ugh if only i could give those women wanting big butts mine, do they realise how hard it is to find jeans or pants that look good on you with a big butt ?
9Yea going to a liberal site for news on the GOP doesn't make much sense.
however jindal was kinda off last night, i think he was just nervous and he does have plenty of time to grow and get used to being on the national stage so no worries from me!
10I think Jindal needs to work with a speech therapist, to get rid of the singsong patterns that he had last night. He definitely didn't impress me, but he has 4 years to improve on last night's performance.
11Jindal speech was not what I thought it was going to be at all. Even I was like huh? I'm sure some Republicans had a few choice words.
I think men in America are ridiculous when it comes to basic non-sexual affection between male friends. Look at other cultures around the world men freely hug and kiss each other. Here the only reason men don't do it and its sad is because of homo-hysteria they don't want to be perceived as Gay. I'm proud of the way my uncle raised his boys. All four of them hetero and as masculine as a tube of testosterone hug and kiss each other in public.
You know I'm not even gonna touch the whole butt injection black market thing. I'll just leave that one alone.
IMO the death penalty is too high a price to pay regardless of recession.
I think Gov. Locke is a good choice I'm excited to see how he'll perform.
12"I don't know when men started to hug each other, but hug they do, and look at that"
That's such an ignorant statement I'm not even going to touch it.
13Yeah, Jindal was not impressive last night at all. I kept thinking he was pitching his run for 2012 than giving a response to Obama's address.
Butt injections, huh? I won't be needing that.
14I thought Jindal came across as condescending. Not in a "I'm so much better than you/Kanye West kind of way" but in a "I think you're all seven year olds who don't understand what a Republican is or how the government works" type of way. It was like he was teaching kids on Sesame Street or something - it was really awful. Ed Rollins on CNN actually described it as a great thing for Sarah Palin, which made me laugh.
Also, I'm intrigued about the possibilities of a Chinese-American for Commerce Secretary.
15ditto to feeling like I was at Storytime With Bobby.
And re: using a liberal blog, it was a post about a conservative opinion, David Brooks! Sheesh.
16Jindal did not deliver. David Brooks has it right.
17TS CitizenSugar has taken a huge turn to the left which is what it is. but they could have gone to redstate.com and seen people criticizing jindal if that was the point.
18that would have probably given this site a bit more credibility.
19but ya know... these links are always 90% liberal blogs/sites since thats what the writers apparently read. judging by the posts no one should be surprised.
it would be nice to have a bit of variation though.
20sometimes I think, Boy! We didn't know how good we had it when we at least had one semi-conservative blogger!
21Liberty and Citizen link stories about Democrats to Malkin, Red State or Townhall often enough - no side's being persecuted here.
22I'm not sure if this is a new thing or not, but I'm excited to see you link to Feministing!
23Feministing is such a hateful website. I'm excited to see the link too.
24Well steph if you in your nonbiased judgement think its often enough it must be true.
25often enough = 1 out of five every once in a while
26This blog calls it right down the middle, just like the NYT.
27hehe!
you know who they never link to Org? Libertarian blogs! Talk about an oversight.
Though one time old Citizen did use a story from Reason magazine...
28Haus, you're right. I'd love to see some stuff from Reason, they have good stories.
29Haha, well, Libertarians are all nuts anyway. At least we'd all agree on that
30Jindal looked so awkward, and his speech and arm movements were strange, I thought that any minute he would start giggling or look to the left and go "am i doing okay?"
Yes Feministing is a terrible site....i agree.
31I didn't think he did that bad, he was nervous, give the man a break. Maybe public speaking is not his forte - hopefully, he will learn from it.
32"Well steph if you in your nonbiased judgement think its often enough it must be true."
33You can count posts, I've done it in the past and always found any slights were perceived, not actual.
How are you counting posts? Are you counthing headlines or source material? Because I've known of people who searched huffington posts tags versus redstate tags and its not even close.
I really dont see how you can say with a straight face that well over half of the links and sources aren't left leaning.
34Here is what I think it hilarious, we get a post on how Jindal failed, written by a liberal blog website.... But yet Obama saying that the automobile was created in America gets no notice.
35"And I believe the nation that invented the automobile cannot walk away from it" What?
Or what about
this economic recovery will likely "cost more money than has already been set aside.'' Whoa? where is this at on citizen?
How about the stock market hitting the lowest point since 1998?
What about Matthews "Oh Gawd" comment?
36I don't think Jindal did that bad. I mean he is a virtual newbie, this was his trial by fire. He got burnt a bit, but not too bad. This liberal bias in media cracks me up, where they can pan a newbie simply because he is a conservative, but do not nitpick when our pres and vice pres can't remember the names of their own programs or their own countries history
37"I really dont see how you can say with a straight face that well over half of the links and sources aren't left leaning."
The reason you can't is because the list of what's described as "left leaning" keeps getting longer as conservatives jettison people like Limbaugh for not being far-right enough.
Jindal's not a 'newbie': He's been in government since at least 1996, and running for or serving in elected offices since 2003.
38Wait, what? Jindal isn't considered a newbie. But Palin is vastly inexperienced and new on the political scene. Whatever.
39He's in Congress or a Governor since '03 - that's more national level experience than Palin's less than 2 years as governor was.
40who here ever said rush isnt conservative enough??
somebody is reaching....
41Ok, I want my slice of the pie, where are all of the Democratic Socialism blogs? *Crickets*
The sad fact is Sugar is a business. They will cater to whatever side is popular and boosts advertisement sales. If the trend swings right next year, they'll post more conservative blogs. If we elect a Libertarian for President they'll fire the Citizen staff and be allover that and if we fall to a Democratic Socialist devil
, then it will swing more left than you could have ever imagined. I don't think it's personal or has
very much to do with the personal beliefs of the Citizen staff or Sugar
.
42Amen Jessie!
43Sorry Haus, it was Drudge you threw off the conservative bus recently wasn't it, not Rush. Not much of a difference between propagandists though.
44Sugar is a business, yes. But the business model they have projected is to have a conservative (Citizen) and liberal (Liberty) posting stories for discussion and debate. That is what is marketed. To say they fired CS just because the dems won the election is way off base. That destroys the platform of debate, which is why we are getting a ton of fluff, and not much substance.
45Also, not true, since she was fired before the election.
But as always, I'm of the opinion that if you don't like the content, take your page views elsewhere.
46UnDave I'm not saying it's right, ethical or the morally high way to go or even the best way to go in the long run (pissing off your loyal base never seems smart). I'm just saying that's what they're doing for business.
