Over the next few months comedian Wanda Sykes better figure out a way to make President Obama funny. Wanda revealed yesterday that she will host the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner on May 9. No word yet if Heidi and Spencer will get an invite this year.
Wanda is a DC native, and dove into politics last year by announcing at a pro-gay marriage rally that she is in fact a lesbian.
She joked yesterday: "The first thing I did when they asked me to do this gig — I made sure my taxes were paid." Judging from that remark, Wanda won't have much trouble making us laugh this Spring.

I just now read an article suggesting she's make a great Commerce Secretary - maybe while she's in town...
1I think that was part of her stand up act, I watched it and she has this whole thing about putting single mothers in the white house in offices like budgeting because no one knows how to stretch a buck like a single mom! I think the line was something like "16 million on bombs! Judy? Didn't you say bombs were on sale at Target this week?"

8That is the one downside of Obama. He just isn't that funny. He hasn't done any stupid things. He is serious and smart. He loves his (own) wife.

16She is hilarious and in this situation Jude I think she'll do a better job than Colbert would. I can just imagine all the inappropriate uncomfortable topics she'll bring up with Obama. I think Colbert was better suited for ripping Bush a new one.
