In case you haven't checked your calendar, today is — dun dun duh — Friday, the 13th! For few people, this date can actually mean good luck, but for many, it's associated with bad luck and misfortune. Historically speaking, that's because 13 is perceived as an unlucky number, and the sixth day of the week, Friday, is an unlucky day. It's the most widespread superstition in the US — some people won't leave their house, go to work, eat at a restaurant, get married, or fly on Friday the 13th. Many cities don't have a 13th street or avenue, and many buildings don't have a 13th floor. With all this said, are you superstitious about this day?

Fantasie
Cheap Monday
DKNY
I'll admit, I am a little.
1not really
2i wouldn't choose to get married on this day and maybe if i had the option i wouldn't fly either, but overall i'm not really superstitious
a friend of mine is flying out on her vacation today, though, and returning on flight #666 so i would feel a little skeevy about that set of signs
I didn't even know that Friday was considered an unlucky day. Friday is my favorite day of the week and Friday the 13th is just another day to me. I work at a doctors office and most of my patients refuse to schedule on Friday the 13th. March 13th is also on a Friday so people that are superstitious must really be freaked out.
3Nope not at all. I actually like Friday the 13th, me and my friends sometimes have Friday the 13th parties.
4yes
5It's usually my lucky day. I think it would be lots of fun to get married on Friday 13th. Great story to tell. Plus, I'm like simplyfab87, I love to throw Friday the 13th parties (sometimes it consists of watching Friday the 13th movies and having people be anti superstitious by having an open umbrella in the house, a latter by the front door you have to walk under to get in and little stuffed black cats.Good cheesy fun!)
6I didn't even realize today was Friday the 13th! Thanks for the wakeup call. Yeah, I don't really pay much attention to that stuff.
7I'm not superstitious about just any Friday the 13th, I'm only superstitious when my birthday lands on a Friday (my birthday is the 13th). I have had bad luck almost every year that it's happened.
8Nope. I consider 13 a lucky number. Plus, today is my mom's birthday. Yay!
9Ugh! Why did you have to remind me. I would have gone the whole day without knowing it was Friday the 13th. I try really hard not to be superstitious and make fun out of holidays like this (maybe by watching the Friday the 13th movies, etc) but I was raised by a very superstitious grandmother...so even though I try not to think about it, I do always kind of believe in all the old wives' tales my grandmother used to tell me.
And I had a date tonight, too...now I'm going to be even more nervous for it!
10I'm not really superstitious about this day. I think it's in our power to decide if a day is going to be good or bad...well, mostly in our power.
11Nope.
12muahhahhaahaa its my 5 year anniversary today! I am superstitious about things but not so much about Friday the 13th
13Not at all. I love Friday the 13th.
14Uh no
15Nah... It's fun to make fun of this day. Now, if you were to talk about Saturday the 14th... Eegads! Remember THAT movie from the 80's? Classic.
16No, good things can happen on Friday the 13th. Me and my boyfriend first hooked up on one years ago and we're still going!
17i tend to have pretty good days on friday the 13ths.
so far, so good!
18Nope! Mine and my boyfriend's first kiss was on a Friday the 13th.
My brother was born on a Friday the 13th - he considers it his lucky day.
Congrats Marni!! - Happy Anniversary!
19Hiding55, I'm curious as to why a Friday the 13th in March is worse?
It's not worse. I just don't remember there being so many in one year or having 2 so close together. There are 3 this year. The next one is in March and the other is in November.
20Nope. Friday the 13th means absolutely nothing to me.
21Thanks kiki!
22No. I'm a really lucky person. My luck can offset any bad luck.
23Nah, it's just a normal day to me. Plus, it's my sister's birthday.
24I'm not superstitious. I don't believe in luck, good or bad.
25A little bit.
26okay...a lot.
Ah I see! That is weird.
27Just another day... But if whatever I sent out gets lost in the mail I might end up being.
28I didn't even realize it was today.
29I'm Taiwanese. I'm more bothered about the number 4.
30Nope.
31Nah, not really.. All my gfs have been freaking out about it all day, but I don't believe it's unlucky unless you believe it is ^^ It's like horoscopes, you'll almost always find a way to relate this to your life. Example: Oh no, it's friday the 13th, that explains why the printer didn't work when I had to print this kinda important document at work today. Bad luck and all because of Friday 13th. BS
32Nah - I forgot about it til I got home today! and I had a great day!
33No.Two of my kids are born on the 13th.One was born on Friday the 13th and my son is going to turn 1 on Friday the 13th.It's just another day to me.
34A little bit, sure.
There are 3 Friday the 13th's this year... today, March 13th & November 13th... I guess its a very superstitious year!
35Okay, there is something wrong with today... Train derailment, plane crash (all 49 passengers died, plus one person on the ground dead), and my best friend has the complete worse day ever. I guess that makes 3. Guess there is something to Friday the 13th after all..
36i had a bad day-first at the doctor, then i got fired from work...so yes friday 13th is a bad day
37Not really...but maybe a little
38Its such a cool day, bcuz ppe get all freaked out about it
39Nope! My birthday's on Friday the 13th this year: March 13th! I think it's silly that hotels and cruise ships don't have a 13th floor.
40No! Actually I wish I was born on a Friday, that would be fun. Instead I was born Thursday the 13th.
Monday's child is fair of face.
Tuesday's child is full of grace.
Wednesday's child is full of woe.
Thursday's child has far to go.
Friday's child is loving and giving.
Saturday's child works hard for a living,
But the child who is born on the Sabbath Day
Is bonny and blithe and good and gay.
haha.. couldn't resist
41Many years ago, on a F-T-13th, my friend and I were walking to the bus stop. We made jokes about the day and stepped on cracks. While crossing the street in the cross walk, a woman ran the light and hit us. The last time my friend was herself was in that cross walk. We were both laughing about something. I remember turning my head to the left and seeing a white car. Then I blacked out. My friend needed several life-saving operations on her brain and body, she was in a coma for almost two years. Afterward, she was but a husk of her former self, existing as 1/8 of a human in a special chair. She's dead now. As for myself, I have a scar and permanent nerve damage on the side of my knee and perpetual pain ever since. Since the accident occurred on the left side, soccer was never the same. I literally couldn't kick correctly anymore. My friend pops in my head at least once a day. Frankly, I'm kind of thankful she isn't here anymore because her life was no kind of life at all. I don't think she would have chosen to live that way had she been asked or known what it would be like. However, generally speaking F-T-13th doesn't cause me any consternation.
