Most people have a love/hate relationship with Valentine's Day, and no matter what your relationship status is, it's hard to escape the pressure that surrounds this holiday. With that said, I know a lot of people that go all out to make Valentine's Day a day to remember. So whether you're a fan of the holiday or not, tell us, what is your favorite Valentine's Day memory?

3 years ago, my boyfriend (now husband) and I discussed how we weren't going to do anything big for Valentines Day, just maybe go out to dinner. So while at school, I was celebrating with my Preschool students, making valentine's cards and cookies. We got a knock on our door from a delivery man, with flowers, but they were for my co-teacher. I knew they weren't for me, because we agreed we weren't doing anything. Then there was another knock at the door, and I thought there must be a mistake. But it was for me! A dozen roses and a box of chocolate. I was so surprised.
1No one will think this is sweet...but my BF and I are not into holidays as a rule, esp V-day, since we show each other love ALL the time and do things together all the time. However, one valentines day he was doing something with a motherboard that didn't work (he's a programmer who loves anything computers) and he managed to cut the motherboard into a shape of a heart for me and it said "I love you" on the back. It's not roses or chocolate or a teddy bear, but I thought it was cute. Oddly enough, he's done things like that on random days -- so it was a coincidence it was V-Day...BUT that's the only thing that's happened that I can think of.
2Unfortunately, I dont really have any good memories from previous bfs. But, my dad used to give me flowers every v-day when I was younger.
I will never forget that!
3my worse one was last year! i got into an accident
hopefully this one will be better!
4Chrstne, I think that's cute. Yeah, I'm not into Single's Awareness Day. (That's what my friends and I call it).
5I too got flowers and balloons from my dad on Valentine's Day. He's not the kind of person to say I love you and gushy stuff, so getting something like this was always really special to me.
6Also my most recent memory would be the day after Valentine's Day, I was working on Valentine's day so my bf and I didn't do anything, he still sent some gorgeous flowers to my work. The next night he finally gave me a ring. I was so thrilled.
No good bf V-Day memories, but my parents always left a little something for me and my sister on V-Day. My first V-Day after I moved out, my dad happened to be in the town where I live now. He snuck in while I was at lunch and left me a card saying how proud they were of me. I keep the card in the back of my planner for when I have really crappy days.
7Last year my boyfriend and i had our first valentine's day..though we had been dating for almost a year.
we got each other the EXACT same valentine's day card. I thought that was pretty cute and meaningful.
8I have no major happy memories of Vdays past but one of my favorite Vday memories was when I went on a date with this guy who was like 20yrs older then me (but drove a REALLY nice car, I was like.. 19) he took me to a pub down the road and then proceeded to hit on the waitress while trying to compare our breast sizes (I have a very large chest) and he ended up asking a couple of the other waitresses what their bust sizes were. It was so embarrassing and then when he dropped me off he tried to talk his way inside to "watch a movie" and I was so disgusted I completely shot him down.
The memory always makes me laugh. Even bad dates end up being good/funny memories.
9Nothing especially great has ever (and I mean ever!) happened on VDay for me, and I really hate romantic-type things - VDay is spelled "disaster" in my book.
My dad usually gets something for me - flowers, chocolate, a card, but always *something* having to do with bears (I got a crystal bear paperweight complete with a heart one year, a bear angel heart-shaped pencil holder, little stuffed white teddy bears some other years) - but I don't think anything this year.
10Mine isn't even a date, or a restaurant, or even being with a boyfriend in the same place. It's about when my current boyfriend sent me an anonymous "secret admirer" letter on Valentine's Day 5 years ago. It was so sweet and funny and we became even closer friends (we had gone to grad school together) but I lived too far away and was starting to date someone else at the time. After I broke up with that guy 3 years later, we reconnected in the UK and finally got together!!
11My ex [boyfriend at the time] took me to a Matchbox 20 concert last year ... and I love Rob Thomas.
12Last year, my husband woke me up with breakfast in bed, a dozen of my favorite flowers, and a comfy bathrobe. We lounged around all day, then went to a black tie gala and stayed the night in a hotel. It was amazing and we have the same thing planned this year!
13My best valentine memory is my first born. He will be 8 this coming Valentine's Day and he is the best valentine I have ever received. My husband went to the gift shop the day he was born and got me a card and flowers from the baby. And now that is why it is my favorite holiday and we get so excited when they start decorating at stores and stuff because he knows his birthday will be here soon!!!
14Umm, my favorite one was in high school. I donated blood that day, and since I'm small (5 ft) and had all that sugar since it was v-day, I definitely had a blood high that day. It was a lot of fun to be super chatty and happy all day.
15For our first Valentine's day together my boyfriend really dropped the ball and didn't get me a card or anything... The next weekend I was out of town with a bunch of girl friends and he had the most beautiful flowers delivered to the hotel. It was really sweet and I'll always remember it.
16I just rather be around the one I care about on Valentines Day. I don't care if we dont go anywhere as long as I got to spend time with him, I was happy.
17gee, I can't really think of anything particularly romantic. Sometimes it's things that happened on days OTHER than valentines day that stick out as being especially romantic, rather than something that was organised specifically for V. day. Just little things like turning up on a bad day at work with my favourite coffee, or turning up with flowers when he said he was going to get me a drink.
My current bf is incredibly thoughtful, it's kind of stressful, i have to make sure that whatever I get him is something really good, since he deserves something special!
18My most memorable was in the 4th grade. A boy who liked me gave me a treasure troll. We became really good friends, but he passed away our freshman year of high school. I still have that treasure troll!
19many good memories and I like this holiday. The best one or my life has yet to come.
20when i was in elementarty school, every year we would go to the bakery and they would give us these heart shaped cookies with red sprinkles. it was the sweetest cookie ever
hahah everybody getting the valentine day cards in class and you could give one to your crush
without him knowing that you had a crush on him because everybody gets cards in the class lol
21My husband got my chocolate and flowers last year. Hopefully he'll do something this year too, but as long as we're together. ^-^
22Nada. Kinda sad but that's okay. At least I have good memories for other holidays!
23A lot of favorites ... The sweetest idea was when my girlfriend gifted me a wine club membership from bottlenotes for one whole year. Every month we'd get different wines . It was jus so exciting !!
24Nice Memories...My story is bit different, but I'll be precise, last year on Valentines Day I was out of home town; my mobile credit was finished and I want to talk with my GF, Then suddenly while playing with mobile, I had found an application " Vopium " which I was not using but I remembered that they offered some Free Mins on Valentines Day, I've tried to make a call through Vopium and It worked, then I wished my GF that was memorable as well as exciting experience for me, and when my GF thanked me, I thanked to Vopium but in my Heart
25From that time time I am using Vopium and Its quite good.
About 6 years ago a bunch of my friends and I were single, so we planned to get together and watch chick flicks and eat yummy food. It was a Saturday, so I spent part of the morning at the Farmer's Market getting food, and I got each of my friends a small bouquet of daisies. It was a fun day, and later in the afternoon there was a knock at my door. It turned out that two of my close friends (married) decided that they wanted me to be their valentine, and sent me a bouquet of purple flowers! I felt so loved and so loving . . . it was a wonderful day
Three years ago was the first Valentine's Day with my boyfriend. We were both poor student teachers at the time, and had only been together about 6 weeks . . . but he got me a dozen red roses from Safeway. The best part was that they sold the roses in sets of 14, so he gave one of them to one of his female friends, and the other to the woman who had re-wrapped my dozen because she was having a bad day. That, to me, was more telling about him than the roses he gave me
26Last year my hunny surprised me by taking me to the beach and having our own little bonfire. It was definitely a night to remember:)
