Now I'm head over heels for Obama - Go Steelers!
1Why the he__ do we care who Obama is routing for??? Seriously? Not liek we are in a recession or anything.
2the super bowl is this weekend?
3yeah cg sunday
4Love the avi btw
5Some of us actually care about the Super Bowl, sorry we aren't all getting into our bunkers this weekend expecting apocalypse. And if you actually watched the video he had nice things to say about Dan Rooney who is a fantastic human being.
6I'll watch the Super Bowl, but I could care less about either team. *ducks*
7Oh my, Exxon's profits dropped? The world must be ending.
The story about the marijuana field and Google Earth just tickles me to no end.
I've spelled 'rooting' wrong all my life. Never knew it had a 'u' in it.
8Clearly he doesn't believe in the underdogs of America since he won't root for the underdogs of football. I'm just so proud of the Cardinals for making it so far!
9I care about the super bowl.
who Obama is routing for, not so much.
10Go Cards!
11Me, too, Piper.
I always thought routing had to do with paths and such, not cheers.
12Are you picking the Cards because Obama is a Steelers fan or because I am?
13Hainan, it's not very frequently you see someone who's rooting for the Cards!
Go Cards!
14What the super bowl means to me.
Buy chips today, they will be gone by tonight....thats about it.
15mydiadem, contrary to popular football fan belief, there are A LOT of Cardinals fans out there (especially now that the bandwagon has resumed its service!) Not everything is about you and Obama.
16rout was the closest I could find to routing: definition of rout
17It seems to be refering to a more of a rioting crowd than a sports gathered crowd.
root was the closest I could find to rooting: definition of root
From that link:
2. To cheer to show support for a sports team, etc.
-
Rooting is correct.
Exxon Mobil's profits dropped 33 percent last quarter, thanks to lower demand for gas and cheaper oil prices.
Wow! I never thought I'd see the day. I'm dumbfounded!
18Stupid link:
19definition of rout
See! Thank you, strange! I thought I was taking crazy pills for a second.
20Actually i am not a cards fan. I am routing for them because I don't like the steelers. Obama is not that important that i would choose to ROOT for a team just because he doesn't. That is childish. I actually usually root for the team closest to me. And I usually root for the underdog.
21Go...Bears? Colts? No?
22I do think it's kinda cool to have the President be a fan of my favorite baseball team, but I've had Sox love for years. April cannot come quickly enough!
23I can always get behind an underdog story. I mean, the entire playoffs this year was filled with statistical unlikelihood, so I'm happy no matter who wins. (My tip jar will probably be happier for a Cardinals win!)
24Yeah you could make bank if you bet for the cards to win.
And they do!!!
25No problem piper. It was bugging me too.
26Either way, I won't be rooting for either team. I'll just be watching some football.
Oh, I don't gamble, Hainan, but I'm working at my sports bar on Sunday. In Arizona
27"Exxon Mobil's profits dropped 33 percent last quarter, thanks to lower demand for gas and cheaper oil prices."
the devil is in the details:
Exxon Mobil Corp. on Friday reported a profit of $45.2 billion for 2008, breaking its own record for a U.S. company, even as its fourth-quarter earnings fell 33 percent from a year ago.
28I'll be cheering for the Cardinals because I'd like to see a cactus planted outside the Pittsburgh stadium.
29Chaton that sounds like you will be having a busy, busy Sunday
Yeah ! good luck!
30This is going to be THE most anti-climactic superbowl EVER! I'm tickled that the cards made it, but really, who expects them to beat the steelers? I know next to nothing about football, and even I know that much!
I thought Mary Jane was legal in switzerland? Or is that just Amsterdam? either way it's still funny that they found it on Google Earth.
A co-worker just showed me that one dollar in US money is worth 34 BILLION in Zimbabwe. A loaf of bread there costs 10 million dollars. Last week an exorbitant amount of Zimbabweans (I can't remember the exact number he told me) were diagnosed with Cholera due to the levels of starvation there.
Boy, when I see stuff like that it makes me a little less anxious about the US economy.
31Wow, Steph. Now I'm completely dumbfounded.. AGAIN.
$45.2 billion...
32Who expected the Giants to beat those cheating Patriots last year? If I was the Steelers, I'd be worried. The Cardinals aren't a team to be taken lightly.
Having said that, GO STEELERS!!!
(As a Colt's fan, I feel oligted to root for the AFC, as long as it isn't the Patriots.)
33Well, Steph, I guess the oil companies won't be asking for a bail-out next now will they? LOL
34Glad to see you qualified that rooting for the AFC remark UD.
35I dont care about either team. All I care about is dips and beer!!
36clarabelle98, the Steelers are only favored by 7 points! And the Eagles were favored by more than that when the Cardinals beat them. And the Panthers were favored by 7, too! And the Cards pulled through in all of those!
37Besides, anticlimactic in this context means that you're expecting a super close game, and then it's a blowout. You clearly are expecting a blowout, and I'm not sure that's what you'll get.
Im going against whoever my hubby is going for.
38I'm not really expecting anything. LOL I just know that over the years I've heard alot more about what a strong team the steelers are and not much about the Cards. That's what I'm basing my assumption on. Years and years of "research." LMAO
39I can't agree with the President's stance on the Steelers.
40clarabelle, I'm expecting the Cards to lose miserably, but I'm not allowed to say that at my sports bar, and I hesitate to say it online just in case anyone knows who I am.
The Cards are a historically terrible team, but the quarterback and the coach this year
really deserve to be MVP and Coach of the Year just for the incomprehensible difference they've made to this team!
41Jude, your ostrich looks so disapproving of Obama's football picks! hehe
42See, I'm lucky. The seahawks rarely make it to the superbowl, so I don't have to worry about that TOO much.
Better hope you don't talk in your sleep Chaton!
43Yes, Ostrich and I disapprove of both teams this year. Bah!
44Your ostrich is freakin me out.
45Imagine waking up and the first thing you see is that!? LOL!
Ostrich is very cranky.
46The Cardinals have never made it, so it's all the more incredible! And I hope I don't talk in my sleep, too! Two of my coworkers (the ones who are like, my close friends) know what I think will happen on Sunday, but we've all taken a vow not to discuss it.
47Jude, I think that this year's Superbowl is kind of a pity Superbowl. For Pete's sake, the Cardinals were 9-7 in the regular season. Teams like that shouldn't make it to the finals!
48Pity Super Bowl is right.
49Should have been the giants.
