While the nightly headlines might not be so optimistic, things are looking up for Katie Couric and CBS. On the tails of her Sarah Palin interview this Summer, Katie has secured a Grammy special, and the first interview with US Airways pilot Chelsey "Sully" Sullenberger. Meanwhile, ratings for the CBS Evening News are on the rise. Last year, it was almost impossible to find pro-Katie news out there. But now, experts speculate that Katie's warm presence makes her the perfect anchor for these tough times.
So tell me, are you one of those viewers helping Katie rise to the top?

I hate when "experts say" silly things like "Katie's warm presence makes her the perfect anchor for these tough times".
1I don't think I've ever watched her.
2I used to watch her on the today show, and I liked her in that format. I don't really take her that seriously and she seems to have a huge chip on her shoulder. When I watch nightly news it is usually ABC or NBC.
3But I usually only watch local news on tv.
Nope, I don't really like her.
Only nighly news I ever watch (and its rarely) is Brian Williams.
4I selected nope I don't watch the evening news but that may not be true - Does Lou Dobbs Tonight, The Situation Room, The Countdown w/ Olberman and Rachel Maddow qualify as the nightly news.
Although I should show the volume is off when these shows are on and generally I'm reading a book while they're on.
Occasionally, I remember to catch BBC World News and Deustche World News or The Newhour with Jim Lehrer.

I actually think some older viewers (well, the only ones who watch the evening news on the networks) would find Katie comforting.

27Katies a cold fish, its excrutiating to watch her interview anyone. I didnt like her when she showed up on the news back in the day and everyone was all "awwww look how cute it is!" and I dont like her now, when everyone is all "awwwww look how warm she is"

30I chose the option that I watch other networks, but on second thought, I really get my news off the internet sites, FOX being highest on the list, but I also check out Wallstreet Journal and Newsweek to keep my perspective clear.

32Katie Couric is a snore..zzzzz Oh! She has a monotone voice and she seems very uninterested in what she is saying to the public. The only time I think the American public took notice is when she interviewed Sarah Palin. At that point, Sarah Palin made Katie look interesting.....Katie is boring (yawn, yawn) quite boring..
