Getting a good night's sleep doesn't come easily for all, especially if you sleep next to a bed hog or a snorer, but new research shows that the remedy for catching those much needed zzz's is sleeping next to the right partner.

A study conducted at the University of Pittsburgh discovered that women who are happily married or coupled up have less trouble sleeping than their single, unattached peers; and you might be surprised to know that caffeine, the amount of sex they had, stress, and alcohol consumption had little impact on this study. Wendy Troxel, an associate professor of psychiatry who worked on this study, explained:
The results showed that even after taking into account all of these factors that are known to influence sleep, the level of marital happiness emerged as an independent risk factor for the existence of sleep disturbances.
Whatever your relationship status may be, tell me, do these findings ring true to you?

Hmmmm I actually do think I sleep better when it's with my boyfriend right next to me...
1I think the study is true. I mean it's common sense that we are happier and calmer when we are in a good relationship, so we sleep better. I don't know about others, but I find myself liking and dont care too much about the annoying habits that i usually dislike(like snoring and stuff) ...
2Yeah, I think it's true for me.
3I'm not sure ... he falls asleep really easily and the snoring tends to keep me up!
4This completely rings true to me. One of the best things I can say about a new boyfriend is that he's easy to sleep with. A man who's hard to sleep with means a relationship that's probably not going to last.
5I love sleeping curled up next to my bf. I definitely sleep better with him. It's such a nice feeling. I feel safe and completely relaxed.
6Yah I definitely sleep like a baby next to my honey. Unfortunately for him, I snore and he doesn't always sleep as well!
7Actually this is extremely true. When my boyfriend and I are having problems (example last friday we had an argument and although we made up i was still a little annoyed and it was on my mind for a few days) I have the worst nights of sleep. Last night, however, I had the most amazing sleep I have had in a while and I think it was because we had a really wonderful, loving day together. We couldnt stop hugging and kissing and holding hands (which we hadnt really been doing because I had gotten a bad cold) and I just felt so in love last night that I slept soundly and I woke up with no problems.
8So true!!!! I thought I was just weird...lol
9...I actually like her snoring and or heavy breathing...helps me sleep.
10My boy used to snore a LOT and really loud, but not anymore.
11Its so wierd! But I find myself sleeping soooooo much better when he is with me.
I live with him, so yes. This research is very true. I sleep way better when he is next to me.
When he and i are mad at one another, we lay there for about 10 minutes till we say something. otherwise, we fall asleep fine.
12I'd say it's true. I always slept better with a boyfriend in bed with me.
13SO TRUE!
14When things were happier in my relationship, I used to be able to sleep like a baby with my then boyfriend/now ex. Things got bad the last year of our relationship ... and I never got a good night's sleep when I was with him. I guess it was losing the sense of security around him that made it hard for me to sleep.
This is a weird study, in my opinion, mostly because I feel like there are a lot of variables that could affect the results that they didn't account for. But I have never slept well with any of my previous boyfriends in the past and I don't sleep well now. So maybe I am an anomaly.
15My husband snores sometimes, but I manage to sleep through it. I'd rather have the snoring then sleep alone--I HATE that. Can't fall asleep without him there!
16I actually heard a story that diffred from this a tad bit saying that women in particular needed "space" ( physical) for a good night sleep. So if you sleep with a man that likes to cuddle, or sleep right under you chances are that is one reason why you are not getting a good night sleep.
17Lately I have a better night of sleep when my bf is in the bed compared to sleeping by myself.
18i sleep better with my husband in the bed..but that wasn't the case for the first 8 months of our relationship. he's a huge cover hog and i am also very particular about the way i sleep. so we sleep with separate comforters. now we both sleep like rocks and have trouble sleeping or sleep less when the other isn't in bed too..
19I sleep good either way.
20WITH MY EX, I WOULD FALL RIGHT ASLEEP. WITH MY NEX BF I HAVE A TROUBLE FALLING ASLEEP AT TIMES. LOL. BECAUSE HE SNORES. LOL. NOT TO MENTION THAT WE DO NOT LIVE TOGETHER AND I DID WITH MY EX.
21I STILL LOVE HIM THOUGH. I HAVEN'T BEEN THIS HAPPY IN A WHILE.
If we are apart for a couple days, since we do not live together, it takes a night to get used to each other again and then after that we are sleeping like babies.
22Also, which I find interesting is that I hate snoring. I can't sleep if there is noise, but my boyfriends snoring doesnt bother me that much. i guess its love.
I have trouble sleeping without my partner. I toss and turn a lot.
23my bf snores ALL the time
24Same with me, cordata. However, I can fall asleep, if he isn't on his back (that's when he snores his loudest).
But I usually go to bed before him, so I have time to fall asleep.
25I sleep better with him. Sometimes he's a bed hog, and very occasionally, maybe one time a month he snores, but other than that, I never have problems. However, in our old place, I could NEVER sleep, and it wasn't because of his habits, but because of echo, and the fact we had an air mattress. I think that most of my sleep issues dissipated when things got better...and my sleep is never directly effected by him doing something. I just feel more comfortable when he's around, I guess because he is the protector.
26Yikes! I'm trying not to take this as a bad sign. :-/ It's annoying — we don't sleep well together, yet when we're apart we can't sleep well either. It's like we can't win!
27I love my husband dearly and actually don't sleep well when he ISN'T next to me due to traveling for work...but I sleep badly when he IS next to me too, as he just recently started snoring, and hits me in his sleep! Then there's his annoying, codependent cat...
28My problem is that my husband comes to bed later than I do and we never wake up at the same time. It's always annoying but not enough to make us change our habits.
