Don't |
- Do know what teams are playing.
- Do root for your team if you're a fan — don't be shy!
-
Do enter the betting pool — even if you don't know the facts, you could end up victorious.
- Do throw the football with the boys at halftime — it'll help burn off some of the calories you've consumed!
- Do be understanding if your significant other's team loses — some guys take a loss very seriously.
- Do look forward to the commercials.
|
- Don't talk during a big play, or any intense moment in the game for that matter.
- Don't overdress for a Super Bowl party.
- Don't comment on the players "outfits."
- Don't walk in front of the TV.

Dude, I'm so glad I don't have to go to these any more. It was all about the beer and the commercials anyway.. I'm just not into football as a sport, basketball is much more my thing!
1DO NOT bring a bottle of white zinfandel. Oy.
2Honestly the Super Bowl bores me, I'd rather be home watching a good movie than watch the game.
3I'm not into sports period. My ex bf dragged me to a super bowl gathering a while back, and I hated it. They were all smoking cigars and talking about the game. I was bored to death and had no clue what was going on.
4I don't really like football but I still watch the game with the the boys. I just drink some beers and eat some fattening food. I have been screamed at for talking and walking in front of the TV. God forbid should they miss a second.
5DO offer to bring something - beer or chips or ICE is a big one for any party. Or if you aren't sure you'll like what drinks are served bring a case of your favorite. No one turns away free food or beer.
6Who is playing?!!
7tomatoshirt Pitts and Arizona
8I have to say that these dos and don'ts are kind of cliched--burning calories? commenting on outfits? Hmm.
9Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers!
This is a huge game... the Cards have never been to a Super Bowl and have ALWAYS been the under dog!
I will personally be watching this game... I love the Cards... and I never thought I would see the day they would play in the Super Bowl. *Tear*
10These rules seem more for a dumbed down audience. Even if you were a girl and didn't know the teams, I dont think any guy would actually care. Just say you came along to see everyone and have a good time. Then jokingly say you'll offer support to the highest bidder. I definitely won't have this list in my back pocket.
11Seriously, what decade is this? Let's all make sure we dress like June Cleaver, too!
12A bit off topic, but these stock photos are HORRIBLE. Do you notice the seams in the back "wall?" Hilarious.
13Lmao! Who actually goes to a $hitty football party? because that's what it is. Lame concept.
14I think a lot of people would disagree with you on that one RockAndRepu. Superbowl parties are a big deal to a lot of people.
15How about... if you don't like football, then don't bother. Just like I wouldn't expect someone to force me to watch the Oscars, I'd never force the Super Bowl on someone.
16I love college ball, but could care less about the pros. So rather than pretend to care for yet another year, I've decided on a my new Do: I'm going hiking with a couple of friends who also don't care. We'll grab supper afterwards at a near-by diner to relax after all that exercise. Best of all, the park and diner will be way less crowded than on a typical Sunday!
17I'm not a huge football fan at all, but I love going to Super Bowl parties because it's an excuse to have fun with my family and friends!
18I'll be at the Superbowl in Tampa on Sunday. I'm leaving tomorrow night. One of my favorite perks of my jobs, I get to go to all Finals for free, but I'm with Deidre, the college bowls are SOOOOO much better than the professional ones. The crowd and the energy level around them are just ridiculous and you get to me some of the craziest fans.
19i nearly died of boredom last year at my first superbowl party.
20this year's party involves uninterested wives like myself who can keep me company
I don't care for most sports or football but I kind of always have a great time at superbowl parties. I just see it as another excuse to eat dips and drink beer and mingle.
21I'm so excited to watch the Steelers win their 6th super bowl this weekend!!
22My bf played football in HS and playes Madden and loves and breathes it he. I really don't too much care for it but he will be dragging me to a gathering with him and his friends. (YaY me) *sacrasm*
23If you gals don't like going to the Super Bowl parties, why not take this opportunity to do your own thing? Get other uninterested gals (like the wives/gfs of the guys who are getting together) and do something that you would enjoy, like a day of shopping or pampering.
24What a lame list. I get you're not interested if you're not a football fan, but if you have three brain cells, you should already know everything listed.
"Do root for your team if you're a fan - don't be shy" -- you're NOT a fan if you don't go all out and support your team. Just because I'm a girl I'm supposed to sit there and golf clap when Roethlisberger throws a touchdown, because it's improper for me to stand up and yell?
"Some guys take a loss very seriously" -- what a gender discriminatory statement. Is this 1940? Some WOMEN also take a loss very seriously, too. I'm a bigger football fan than my husband, and he LOVES football.
"Don't comment on the players *outfits*" -- Are girls really dumb enough to do this at an actual party? If anyone makes comments, they're getting thrown out of my party. Or strangled with my Terrible Towel.
HERE WE GO, STEELERS, HERE WE GO!!!!
25"Do be understanding if your significant other's team loses — some guys take a loss very seriously." i always find this odd. a person who's only connection to a team is through their (one sided) choice, has an investment with a mega-million dollar team in a game where players are traded constantly, coaches are fired frequently and teams move to other cities on occasion. what are they invested in, the logo?
26LET'S GO PITTSBURGH!
27I think it is a great opportunity to hit a chick flick and do some shopping with friends. I like football, but couldn't care less about who is playing in the Super Bowl this year. The majority of the time, the game itself is boring.
I say take advantage of a Sunday to do what you want....believe me, your guy won't miss you during those precious three hours.
28My biggest don't?
DON"T COMPLAIN HOW MUCH WEIGHT/HOW FAT YOU'LL GET BY EATING SUPERBOWL FOOD.
No one cares, and no, no one really wants to know how many calories they are scarfing down on game day. I don't mind if you pass on the hot wings, but please don't tell me how many caolries are in eahc one if i don't ask and please please please don't loudly mumble how big your butt or hips are going to get.
29I'M SORRY ARE WE ALL AIRHEADS??
30I don't need this kind of advice. Geez. Who would?
31I know some of you ladies are offended by this list because you feel as women we can't possibly this clueless or dumb but TRUST ME these girls are out there and they WILL violate the rules of this list!
32likety split: ""Do be understanding if your significant other's team loses — some guys take a loss very seriously." i always find this odd. a person who's only connection to a team is through their (one sided) choice, has an investment with a mega-million dollar team in a game where players are traded constantly, coaches are fired frequently and teams move to other cities on occasion. what are they invested in, the logo?"
Couldn't agree more! It's like a bunch of wanna-be football players just trying to get as close as they can to the game. I don't understand why people would want to be a fan of a sport they don't even play. Why don't they just go out and actually get on a sports team of some kind, then it makes sense to support that team.
33How about tips on not dying of boredom if your S.O. drags you to a superbowl party with all of his friends and you hate football and aren't crazy about his friends, either?? I'm trying to take it as a compliment that he wants me there with him, but I still don't wanna go!
