Rumor has it that IL Gov. Rod Blagojevich wants to appear on The View to tell his side of the story. The governor's public image is badly bruised right now, thanks to federal corruption charges, impeachment by the Illinois House, and an impending trial in the Illinois Senate. Blangojevich is ready to make his case to the country, and apparently he feels that Whoopi Goldberg has shown some sympathy for his predicament.

Blagojevich's previous statements may give us a preview of what he might say on national TV. He told the AP yesterday:
Dec. 9 to my family, to us, to me, is what Pearl Harbor Day was to the United States. It was a complete surprise, completely unexpected. And just like the United States prevailed in that, we’ll prevail in this.
Considering the governor's capacity to say outlandish things, an appearance on The View might get messy. Then again, maybe he just needs a chance to explain.

Only if he does a step-by-step demonstration of his morning hair routine!
1unless his intentions are to look like an Adonis next to the hideousness that is on the view, than no...he shouldnt go on.
2The...View? It's gotta be just a rumor.
3The View? I guess I think of the late night shows, Leno or Letterman or SNL, as where people usually go to do image repair. Or a sit-down with Matt Lauer or Diane Sawyer.
4He was already on the news last night talking about how this is affecting him and his family.
5he shouldn't have been such a dumb prick in the first place. And to compare it to Pearl Harbor!
6Why doesn't he appear on local shows and speak to the people of his state since they're the ones affected by the mess? In addition to targeting the right audience, he'd bring national attention to local commentators, maybe making new friends in local media.
7I agree with Stephley.
8I am from Illinois....he is an embarrassment!!! I cannot believe that he continues to try and fight this.
No matter what, the Federal Government has something on him, and hes a corrupt governor.
He needs to shut his, sit down, and stop looking like a fool. Obviously he's made some bad decisions, stop hiding behind hat a good person you shouldve been, and own up to what you did!
Innocent or Not, theres something wrong and I am so annoyed that he is my governor. Good bye BLAGO! We dont like you at all.....never have, never will!
Fix your hair while your at it!
Only if I was a hair stylist.
9Going on the View doesn't help anyone.
10I'm all for any public Blago appearance--especially when he starts drawing comparisons between himself and Pearl Harbor and quoting Tennyson. SWEET!
11What he says or does not say in any forum will help or hinder Blagojevich. The View has nothing to do with it.
12I serioulsy LOVE this guy. He is HYSTERICAL!
I hope he never goes away. What would I do without his spandex comments to the media during his morning runs??
13I don't think going on the view would make him look ridiculous, he makes himself look like that.
geesh he's so skeevy that going on the view might actually HELP him!
14OK, speaking as a former Chicagoan, no, no, no. Illinois politics are generally corrupt, and all a Blago appearance will do is further cement that opinion in peoples' minds!
15Being a scandal-ridden Democrat, the ladies of the view will be drooling all over him.
16Piper, that is if they can bring themselves to get John Edwards off their couch, right?
17John Edwards is still on their couch? Must be uncomfortable for their other guests.
18Which other scandal-ridden Dems?
19Hmmm...gotta go with the Clintons. They are always my go to scandal ridden Dems.
20"Only if he does a step-by-step demonstration of his morning hair routine!"
21
22I didn't realize the Clintons were regulars on the View.
23oh.my.god.
24why? why the view? really?
Out of all the reputable news/commentary shows there are on the television, why...oh why...would he choose The View? Does anyone watch that show on purpose? The last time I saw it, I was sitting in a waiting room at the hospital...listening to those hens squabble just about made me want to jab my eyes out with pencils...so...I voted "No. It would just make him look ridiculous."
25I am so tired of this man. What is the point of him still trying. He's clearly guilty. He needs to be charged, tried, and convicted. He's has Illinois embarrassed enough by his actions. They need to move onto new news, good news for their state.
And if he was going to do a television show, then why not do a proper new show interview? NOT the view. They would never ask this man all the right questions because they would be trying to put a joke into most of their questions so the audience can laugh.
26I'd like to see him go on the view, just to see what the "women" do to him.
