Today America will introduce its 44th President! At noon, Chief Justice John Roberts will administer the oath of office to Barack Obama who will swear to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. While 240,000 people have tickets, as many as 4 million will watch Obama become president via jumbotron, along with many more around the US.

And of course — there will be a speech! Considering the opportunity to set the tone of his administration, and the fact that so many people have come to the capitol to witness his inauguration, Obama must be feeling pressure to deliver a moving address. Regardless of the words, the marking of democracy in action and new energy in leadership will likely give Americans inspiration in these tough times.
Will you be watching? You can tune in for live video from Ustream TV and CNN. Tell me if you think Obama lives up to the high expectations!

Hellz yeah. All of our TVs are tuned into a different station right now--think we have ABC and NBC on right now. Woot!
Absolutely!
I'm watching, and keeping the kid home from school, until after the inaugural address - there's nothing any teacher can tell her that's more important than this is.
That's nice Stephley. If I was still in High School my mom prob would have made me go.
Supposedly we are going to watch it at work.
We are going to watch it at work. My boss and I have already gotten the ball rolling for that.
I am tuning into coverage on the internet at work. my boyfriend is actually going. His cousin had an extra ticket. Nothing is going to stop me from watching this. NOTHING!!!
It's a beautiful day! Yes, expectations are high, but he certainly can't do any worse than Bush.
Sorry I'm late. I was frisking Secret Service Men ;-)>
Watching from Brazil on C-Span through Livestation! Switching channels every once in a while xD
Sometimes it's good to be on the west coast. It's still pretty early here, so I can catch it before I start my day.
Hey what's with the new format? I go on vacation and you guys rearrange the furniture.
I know...I hate the new format.
I'm not a fan of the new format.
I feel really nervous for Obama right now, even with the added security.
Of course! If I had my way I'd be in DC right now!
Speaking of the new format.... If you don't want to see teamsugar, private blogs and private groups go away, please sign this petition!

Thanks in advance.
I also hate the inconsistent comment labels/links. It doesn't always say if there are new posts or how many there are accurately.
Add me to the above- I click new comments and it doesnt really do much.
I am excited-will watch live stream from cnn.com or nytimes.com - since I am at work!
Yes! I'm watching in secret at my work computer! Hooray for live video coverage!!!!
Happy Day, everyone!
Al Gore just came out. I wonder if he still thinks GWT is actually occuring.
Bill and Hill just came out. They look fantastic--LOVE Hill's coat.
hypnoticmix: Great comment. You made my morning.
I saw Gen. Colin Powell on Morning Joe this morning and he said "There will be 2 million people or so in DC watching this. My prediction is that in 20 years, 15 million people will CLAIM they were there." I thought that was cute.
I'm watching while I work!!!. My boss who's a big Obama supporter told everyone to work from home today.
How cute is Malia taking pictures of the crowds...
everyone here at the office is watching not much work will be done today. i hate the new format too. bill and hill look so good, so did george w sr. and barbara he looks so frail though
I am watching now!
people suck for not cheering when Bush came out. Get over yourselves! HE is still you commander in chief, for a couple minutes anyways!
Totally immature but lmao at the announcer: "s-s-s-s-senator"
okay it wasn't that bad but
Do all the men kind of look like russian mobsters to anyone else???
As cold as it is, I'd look like that too
Just smile already Obama
haha I know but it just struck me as funny...
Lmao the look on his face! He's so the man!! Omg. Excitiiiing!
Oh, and thanks JFK for making hats unfashionable.
I'm so excited. But I'm with you Hainan that was pretty sucky that they didn't cheer for him. It goes to show, people really really didn't like the man.
He looks like he wants to cry, I got a little teary eyed, darn you people having an effect on me.
I'm here! All the ladies Hillary, Michelle, Laura, Malia, and Sasha all look gorgeous!
people are really influenced by public opinion and easily swayed....
And I think the Obama chanting is immature as well, this isn't a football rally.
What a beautiful day this is!!
Umm Hainan we know you don't like the guy too much but this is kind of an exciting day..
OK, woah. I almost slept through this (I worked until 2am pacific.) Where are my glasses?
Barack H. Obama
well Hain you may think it's immature but to a lot of people, seeing something like this come to fruition is very exciting so yes they are going to cheer
The "Oh-bah-mah!" chant is a little chunky...
The announcer is cracking me up too@ LLLLadies and Gentleman
STOP FIGHTING, sugars. Let's just come together on this day and be happy for Obama.
