A few months ago, on Halloween, I shared a belief many of my friends have — that if you're dating someone you aren't sure about, Halloween is the time to break up with them, or else you'll be stuck together through the entirety of Winter. Apparently their theory isn't as wacky as it may sound. According to the UK Telegraph, breakups and divorce rates will be on the rise this January. Shelley Hesford, of Cheshire law firm SAS Daniels, was quoted saying, "We get more calls in the first few days of New Year from couples wanting to separate or divorce than any other time of the year."
We're 13 days into the new year, so tell me, are you still coupled up or are you newly single?

As a matter of fact I am! It's hard, but I'm loving it at times too.
1nope.
2Still together and loving it.
3me too, still together and loving it
4Going strong... =]
5Wow I really am newly single- we broke up Dec 28th. Which stunk
6still together, but we only just had a 3-month "anniversary" (though we didn't mark it).
7I see no divorce in my future :]
8I had a 12/28 breakup, too... for the best, I know
9i'm in the middle...i had been contemplating a breakup and told him i wanted him to move out and he decided to move to colorado (i'm in st. louis) with his brother but we're still technically together, just taking a big step back. i'm kinda excited though
10Wow I can't believe how split this poll is!! We are still together- but then we spent the holidays separately and that helped us miss each other!
11We're still together. Been seeing each other since August (ish) so we're kinda still in the infatuation/honeymoon phase and it's going very well.
12
13still together it'll be 2 years in april and we'll be moving in together beginning of september.
14single and loving every minute of it!!
15How about still happily single?
16Broke up in December. It still feels kind of new, so I guess that's a yes for me.
17Single!! That relationship drained me emotionally for almost 2 years of my life... I decided I had to let him go. It would be a sad sight to still be caught up in a dysfunctional relationship at the 2 year mark (March 10) when it's been messed up from day one. It's a decision I have no regrets about. It's a easier New years resolution than my exercising 3 times a week.
18Neither, am kinda getting into a relationship now.
19Newly single, broke up in December. But definitely not loving it (even though I'm the one that broke up with him), it still hurts too much to be joyous about it.
20Happily together
21Single and don't want it to be forever.
22God, please help me.
4 years later we breakup, in the end I know it's for the best, but it leaves a void for now
23Still together and talking about plans years from now, so I guess we're pretty damn happy!
24Just broke up a few days before New Years. I have been wanting to break up since forever, but he would never hear of it. So I drew him completely crazy and made myself a totally unlikeable person, until he himself pulled the plug.
25I'm glad he did. He is SO not the guy for me.
Still together and stronger than ever!
26How about just single.
27
28Still together...
29Is being single for 37 years out of your control a good thing?
30actually, I met and started dating someone over the holiday period! so that was exciting. Yay!
31Broke up with my ex at the end of October (HA, right before Halloween!) and i'm soooo glad i did. that was a dead-end road and after getting over the whole "I miss you" stuff, i'm enjoying my singledom once again!
32My boyfriend of 3+ years and I broke up yesterday. I'm still trying to process it all.
