China Prepares For New Year
While I waited until the last minute to make my New Year's Eve plans, China is wasting no time to prepare for its lunar New Year celebrations. The year of the Ox begins on Jan. 26; but before that red lanterns must be hung, festival posters bought, and money trees lit. In Japan, which also follows the Chinese zodiac, investors are also preparing for some losses next year:

Ugh, the duck picture's a little gross - but I do love the big way they celebrate the New Year.

2I love Chinese New Year. It's also the same for Vietnamese and when I was younger my parents brought us there for celebration. It's great

So are the wonderful old Chinese people who look at me and my wedding bandless finger and give me the blesseded RED ENVELOPE of cold hard cash.
I hope there's a really Ox in the parade.
