One of my friends recently told me that when her husband is out of town, she sleeps with one of his old t-shirts so she can snuggle with something that smells like him. It keeps the loneliness at bay and although it sounds a little childish, she's not alone. Researchers reported that as many as three-quarters of women admit they cuddle with clothing worn by their significant other when he or she is away. And get this — two-thirds of men do the same thing!
Can you relate? Do you embrace clothes worn by your lover when you're apart?

Umm no...
yessss! my boyfried gave me one of his shirts and evey night i'm not with him (we don't live together) i wear his shirt. anyway i washed it so it doesn't haved his smeel anymore
but anyway every time i wear it i feel closer to him
I can understand the appeal.... Smells and memory strong connection b/c of the position of the Olfactory cortex and the amygdala and all this other scientific stuff. I loved the smell of my guys apartment and after I spend the night there I would smell like him. I never cuddled with his clothing. I would dely showering after I had been with him because I liked his scent on my skin. That may sound gross but I do shower haha. I just loved how he lingered on my clothing and skin.
I haven't ever cuddled with his clothes but I do love the way I notice is smell on my clothes and my bedsheets and blankets after he leaves. So delicious.
My husband leaves one of his undershirts on the bed for me to cuddle with when he goes on business trips
My mum does this sometimes when my dad's away on business trips (which is always the case). I don't know if I'll ever do this though.
I agree with hiding. I like his smell on my pillows but I've never worn his clothes to feel closer to him.
No, I don't. It seems strange to me because I always leave one of my shirts out for my cat when I'm out of town... I couldn't see me and the boyfriend doing that for each other.
I would not cuddle with his dirty shirt, but sometimes I wear one of his big clean t-shirts to bed if I'm feeling lonely and he has to work
I snuggle with his pillow! It smells just like him and makes me excited for when he comes home.
my boyfriend and I lived in other cities for the first six months of us dating, and I loved having one of his tshirts around - even washed and smelling like MY clothes, it was nice to be close to something that he worse so close to him
Lol, this sounds like that weird guy that smells women's underwear...j/k... why not wear the clothes instead of cuddle it ~_^? Unless I guess you're dressing up your teddy bear in their clothes then cuddling with it?...k, that probably sounded weird.
I do. We live in different countries so whenever we visit each other and I end up taking his shirts or his hats
I've bee
I thought I was the only one..
My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship. I'm going back up to school this Friday in upstate NY, and he's going back on the west coast, but we're both our families are living in NY so that's our middle ground. I won't be seeing him until March so I took one of his jerseys and he sprayed his cologne on the shirt so I could wear it to bed and have his scent on there until it wears off. It's hard being in a long distance relationship so anything I can do to make it a little less hard, I'm gonna do!
Awww... I've never done this, but I think it's really sweet. I've caught my Mom doing this when Dad's been out-of-town.
Awww... I've never done this, but I think it's really sweet. I've caught my Mom doing this when Dad's been out-of-town.
I cuddle with his shirt....his pillow sometimes smells like drool!!
i've never done this with my fiancee's clothes but when i was a kid my mom was single and went out a lot on dates or out with her friends and i got in the habit of having to sleep with one of her shirts to go to bed. After a while I started sleeping with it every night and it was a great comfort when i missed her.
Men do it too? That's strange. Not unappealing, but strange. Frankly, I would only expect them to j*** off on those clothes or something
^LoL....hahah, contrary to that belief...we miss our women very much too...I've used a tiny bit of her hair conditioning cream on occasion just to carry her scent with me, I know it's weird but it made me all...warm and fuzzy or something inside. And anyway...I have a little picture frame of her on the corner of my laptop to stare at her all day -_- so no need to clothes...and no...I don't j*** off to it either -_-.
*for clothes...
No, I can understand why some people would.
Wait.
People cuddle WITHOUT clothes????!!!!!
@GScott: Yeah sorry, I know my image of men is a little stereotyped at times
of course! who doesn't? LOL
I can't imagine him doing it, although I'd be totally cool with it if he did!
CREEPY!
My partner lent me his favorite hoodie for a week, I never took it off! It was wonderful to curl up in something that smelt like him. He was lucky to get it back when I next saw him, it was a bloody cold day and I was warm in it!
I wear his jumpers all the time and I love anything that smells of him. We live together and don't travel away from each other much but I think I would do this if he were to.
oh of course... When my hubby and I first go together, i'd stay at his place a few nights. Then I would have to go home. So I took one of his shirts home with me.. I slept in it at my place and I would just throw on any shirt out of his closet to sleep in at his place. But the shirt I had of his at my place.... ohhhh. so comfy.
before i lived with my fiance, i used to wear a tank top and shorts to bed. now i wear one of his shirts since they smell like him. and when he's traveling for work - i sleep on his side of the bed so i can smell his scent on the pillow
I don't think its creepy at all. Wow, but anyway. One time I left my tee shirt at my bf's house, and he says he cuddled with it, because my smell made him comfortable. The same with me too. I do this, as well as a lot of people I knw. So its really not surprising to me, I think its very cute =]
Creepy? o.O It's a significant other, not some stranger who doesn't know you're obsessed over them. My husband and I do this all the time. I love his smell. He loves my smell. And, the best smell is ours combined under the sheets. My hubby is currently in Germany and he left some unwashed clothes for me to snuggle with. My mom also used to not wash my dad's clothes when he went on military deployment for long periods of time. She missed him, of course.
