I watched part of the premiere of True Beauty last night, the new reality television show about a beauty contest with a twist. What the contestants don't know is that in addition to their outer beauty, they'll be judged on their "inner beauty," too. They brought in a "scientist" to measure the contestants' body parts and features to determine where in the good looks range they were. Secret etiquette and ethics challenges will determine their "inner beauty." This show is going to be a real winner . . .

I actually like the concept of this "social experiment". I say bits and pieces of it and the one who got kicked off in the end was unrepentant...
1I like that it's kind of flipping the script on these "pretty" people but at the same time, I think they should have chosen at least a few people who normal people could relate to. They all seem shallow, rude, condescending and mean... I dont really understand how any of these people deserve $100,000 and their picture in People Magazine.
Also, the chick that got kicked off was such a biatch. I wish both of them got booted. I do like how they get slammed down on national television though hehe

3It's an interesting idea but there would never be a reality with that concept that would actually appeal to me considering what usually gets better ratings. And why is it that the people usually considered the most beautiful (including by themselves) are usually so generic looking and uninteresting (and not just physically)?

5i loved it! at the end when they took the ousted chicks picture off the wall and chucked in the dumpster, :roftl: and the comments "i spend a lot of time looking at myself in the mirror but, come one, if you looked like THIS wouldn't you?!" so shallow and self-absorbed and ugly about each other.
did you notice they have jobs like go-go dancer and artists model? even the guy with an engineering degree does nothing. they get off on their own looks in a way that is oddly entertaining. all the things your mother told you about stuck-up attractive people are true on this show. but to be honest i wouldn't classify any of them as incredibly beautiful.
6I watched it too, but I wonder just how vapid these people are by thinking that they're only here to compete based on physical beauty alone. Wouldn't they think that there is something more to it?
