Not many of you made New Year's Resolutions in 2007, but with so much change in 2008, you might have a new outlook on the concept this time around. So if you're looking to make a change of your own, do tell, what are you pledging for 2009?

The usual of eating better and working out, but more importantly, I resolve to have more face time with people in my life. I email, call, and text way too much and spend actual time with people too little!
1Reduce negetive self talk
Start a new hobby - perhaps martial arts or rock climbing
Cook a new recipe once a week
2Same as every year. To lose weight and actually keep it off. I have no problem losing weight it's sticking with the healthy life style that always gets me.
3Quit smoking. (I went out and bought all my "quit smoking" supplies yesterday!)
Also, eat healthier and just LIVE healthier in general!
Get my finances more in order.... organize my house...
4I really never make them - I just hope for a better year in general than the last. I find that making new year's resolutions never works for most ppl. You really have to make it a life change instead of a "resolution". Happy early New Year to all!!!
5The usual for me, to lose weight, but I really want to land a book deal. I've been trying to become a professional writer for years now, so hopefully next year will be my year.
6I also want to stop obsessing over finding someone to spend the rest of my life with. It's kinda sad on new years when you look around and see people kissing one another and you have no one special to spend it with.
If I can stop thinking about that, I will be fine.
This year, I'm celebrating new years with my parents.
HAPPY NEW YEARS TO EVERYONE!
To put the cigarettes down for good. I'll quit for a few months, then start back, then quit. A very bad cycle I need to get out of!
Work on getting my debt down... student loans are a pain.
Happy New Year to everyone and best of luck with your resolutions!
7This is the best one I've ever made: Stop dating douchy guys.
I bought "The Manual" after seeing some great advice on this site. From the stories and scenarios he told I realized that there's def a pattern in the types of guys I date, so this year I'm ending it!
Wish me luck!
P.S. I highly recommend the book.
8I want to stop being so serious! Have more fun and reconnect with the people in my life that I care about. Sometimes I just feel so busy, busy, busy and rush, rush, rush that I don't even want to make the efort to connect with others. I also want to recommit to taking care of my health...it is time to take off the weight I put on while working on my thesis. Wish me luck!
9im not big on resolutions either, but if anything, i resolve to be grateful ALWAYS
10HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
Last year, I made a laundry list of things I wanted to accomplish this year. Fortunatly, looking back, I have done almost everything! I think its a great motivation to have something to look back at and remind you of the goals you want to achieve throughout the year.
This year, I REALLY want to finish up whatever I didnt have time for on my list. Money has been tight...so I would really like to travel more in 2009.
11I've been regular with my workouts and all, so I just want to continue staying healthy. I also want to save because 2010 is my travel extravaganza year. And, hmm, like someone. Haha, I have such a hard time falling for anyone and I always thought it was the men, but I'm starting to think it's my problem.
12I'm going to try not eating white sugar.
13Be more thankful
14I always kind of tried this, but never followed through. But has anyone really made a solid NYR and actually followed through with it by every detail?
Anyway...mine's to be a better person, not perfect, but make life better for myself and make me first priority instead of everyone else.
15i want to be more positive.
i want to only see the good side of things.
16My goal is to pay off all my debt by the end of 2009. I HAVE to reach this goal, no if's and's or but's!
17I would like to actually stick with an exercise plan and not give it up after 3 weeks.
also, I wanna do more enjoyable things on the weekends so I'm going to try to get out of town at least once a month and go somewhere new.
18Mine this year is to be a healthier person. I want to focus on eating right, exercising, mental health. Just to have a healthy lifestyle.
19Get back on track with my writing.
20My simple resolution is to stand more (instead of doing activities while sitting) and working on my posture.
My difficult resolution is not to compare myself to other people, friends and acquaintances especially. Now that will be tricky.
21I don't make resolutions since I never stick to them. But I have a few goals for the year; find another job, finish my third book and try to get one published, take voice lessons. Wish me luck!
22Good luck, Marci!
23I never make resolutions. I don't think attempts for self-improvement should be saved for just the new year.
24I don't need any resolutions. Just determination
All of my 'problems' from last year
are gone away...
25Well, I looked back on 2008 and realized how much NOTHING I did. I'm an artsy person by nature, and I hardly did anything artistic (I have a hard time just starting, but I enjoy myself once I do start). So, in 2009, I'm taking art lessons to improve my sketching and give myself allotted time once a week to be artsy and creative. I also want to be more frugal. I also want to make more effort into being friends with "just acquaintances".
26Wait! I have one! Much less Popsugar!!!!
27My 2008 resolution was to get off the celebrity band-wagon, and I did well until this month. I'll have to renew that commitment in 2009 - I like to think there are better things to do with my time.
28I plan on getting a better paying or position with my current job! Eating right is always a New Year resolution but when it comes to that time I can't seem to get started! Some people have it all together and they don't need a resolution but as long as I have my family and health then there's nothing to complain about!
I want EVERYONE TO HAVE A WONDERFUL & HAPPY NEW YEAR~!~
29Forget new years resolutions, forget every other year. I'm pretending I will be just born on Jan 1, and play it that way. Everything from the past doesn't exist. Clean slate. Fresh start. New person. I guess I'm a baby and I'll start from scratch (not literally)! Haha, hope this works.
30Well the usual of being healthier and then a new one this year; to be nicer to people. Too many people say I come off intimidating (I can't help it. I'm just shy so it seems like I'm mean but I'm actually not) so I'm going to try to be nicer and become more approachable:)
31To be an even more feminine, powerful woman. And to support encourage others like me. And men too.
32I have a LOT this year. 2008 wasn't a good year for me, so I'm trying to make 2009 as good as possible!
Exercise daily, eat organic as much as possible, and keep up a healthy lifestyle in general.
and don't skip classes or work
ever. Also, pass the tests I'm taking this spring...hopefully with high scores.
Stop thinking negatively about myself and my future.
Do really well in school, aim for 4.0 (or at the least 3.
Save as much $$$ as possible, only spend on things I need, keep financial records, and be as financially independent as possible.
Make new friends, renew old friendships.
Find a new guy whos worth it.
Get my drivers license by my (18th) birthday. AND stop being afraid of it.
Read at least 2-3 books a month, probably more if I have time.
Forget the mistakes I've made in the past, especially this past year. Forgive myself, learn from them, and move on with no regrets.
And ultimately, to sum it all up:
Become the person I want to be.
...or at least get closer to becoming that person.
Happy New Year everyone!!
33Continue recycling
34Exercise more
Finish furnishing my apartment
My only goals for New Years are to stop helping people who don’t appreciate my free help, although they are gaining mostly from it. And I want to visit Rome from an extensive time. I believe there is so much to learn in Rome
Oh, and good luck on getting your book published *Marci*
35Quit nicorettes...
36I only have one I know I'll keep and it's to thank god and be grateful for all the blessings that I have in my life.......
Good Luck on reaching all your goals Marci!!!
37Get over old wounds and make up with old friends.
I've lots a few friends over the year due to school, moving, and other drama-full circumstances. I think now's a great a time as any to put that behind me and try to get back to the awesome times I used to have.
38We really don't have things like New Year's resolutions in Croatia, but I think I've become Americanized enough to finally accept it. So, min are to finally get my masters in psychology and taking over full ownership of my bar. Other than that, my life is pretty perfect just the way it is.
39To learn to play the banjo, write more letters (not emails), and take a peaceful walk in the woods every day.
