Hell to the yeah, Chicago is rocking below 0.
Sorry to hear for the loss Toyota.
Wow, five to 15 years, he's lucky he's not in a ditch somewhere. Some governments will kill you in a minute.
I want to know what's in the report that will be released this week.
Last note: Free Rod!
1Bella, it felt like the uncovered portion of my face was being stabbed with little needles this morning on my way to work. Also, I'm wondering if there's such a thing as frozen eyeballs, because that's exactly how mine felt today.
I wanna read the report, too.
Free Rod's hair!
2Em, you need to wrap the scarf backwards to go over your nose and mouth (making sure its over the ears) then wrap it around your neck and then put on your hat. Girl I felt nothing today. I had too many layers on but I looked good.
Rod's hair bouncing in the winter wind - priceless.
3I love it Bella! Thanks for the tip! Now if only I could cover my eyeballs...hmmm...
I lose all sense of vanity in the winter. I'm not very self-conscious to begin with, but in the winter? As long as I'm warm, I don't care. I'm also thinking about investing in some of these things I've seen at outdoorsy-type stores--they're these rubber things with spikes in them that you attach to your boots so you don't slip on the ice. They're made for the wilderness but I could definitely use some this winter.
I hope Rod's taking care of his hair in the winter wind. Deep-conditioning treatments, maybe some Vo5--it has to look its best!
4Em, do you have waterproof boots? I have some that are great by Naturalizers. Awesome and they look nice b/c they are black. I never slip. Let me find them and I will private you.
5It's -10+ here. I'm still hoping for some of that there global warmin Mr. Gore was promising...
6Thanks Bella!
7No problem, hun. I know now how to deal with the heat in the South and the cold in the Midwest. I'm a pro at this point.
8Side note-anyone watch that show Worst Week? It's surprisingly funny!
9Yikes. Everyone try to stay warm!
10It's raining in San Diego
11Off the subject again, Harm I saw the previews of a horror movie coming out and it takes place in Harmony. Things just pop in and out.
12blue--I watch that. It's awesome. And Red from "That 70s Show" is in it. Can't beat that.
13I really like that show, I was wondering how they'd continue after the wedding...but the last episode (with the upstairs apartment) was pretty funny!
14I'm in Chicago as well... wow, we're troopers. I lived in Miami for 10 years before I moved to Chicago (I've been here for 6 years) and I have to say that even in sub-zero weather, I prefer it really cold to really hot. You can only take off so many layers but you can always pile on more!!
One thing though: my car battery died cause it was too cold but it wouldn't have mattered anyway cause the shaved ICE surrounding the wheels would have prevented me from getting out.
15We had record lows near Denver over a week ago... at zero with -20 wind chill, but we got by just fine. My concern is for those without the power in the midwest right now. My in-laws all got affected in Indiana but were lucky enough to cozy up under their covers before power came back on. My father-in-law still doesn't have it on and refuses to go anywhere because he is doing all he can with a generator to make sure the pipes don't freeze.
It is funny to think I was in Miami at this time last year.
16This is my first Chicago winter. I am NOT loving it.
17Sorry to hear that javsmav, however, this winter is mild so far.
