You all voted on your favorite birth control method of '08 and I wasn't surprised to see that the the pill won with 43 percent of your votes. It seems as though most of us have a love/hate relationship with contraception, but I'm glad to see that those of you who are sexually active have found the right method for you!

Kind of surprised it wasn't NuvaRing.
1Wait they still make "the patch" I thought that was killing people?
2Condoms
3Ive heard too many bad things about nuvaring... The pill is a tried and true classic. I love it!
4I missed the poll but I tried nuvaring after using the pill for years and it was so irritating that I had to give up after a month. It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be too. Thank goodness my method is now - vasectomy!
5IUD!!!! The best method ever!! I used to take the pill and always forgot to take it. What happen?? I had a baby!! So, after that, I decided to try the IUD. I love it. No pills to remember, no shots to take since I hate needles, and no condoms to buy since I am in stable relationship of 5 years.
6I used Yaz for a year, then it made me horribly, horribly ill.
So I switched to NFP. It's working for the past 2 months.
7Just got my Mirena IUD last Friday. Not gonna lie, the first day was rough...but I'm hopeful that I will be my normal, cheerful, non-crazy self without all the hormones of BC pills! So far, so good...
8Why on earth would I use the ring?? I have heard too many cases of it getting stuck up there and someone having to go up there and get it out. And the patch should be recalled. I will stick with the pill thanx.
9Just got the NuvaRing but now after reading the comments kinda freaked out to use it! haha
10Joy, don't be freaked out
I use the ring and I really like it. So convenient. The best tip I can give you is re: insertion - twist it into a figure of 8, then bend it in half, so it's 2 smaller rings on top of each other. Then insert. It's less likely to slip out or wriggle down
11Cool- thx for the advice:-) If you have any other tips please lmk!

I've used NuvaRing for over a year and I only have good things to say, for example it's never gotten "stuck up there." It might sometimes be pretty deep so it seems like you can't find it, but that's nothing to panic about. Try again after a while, it won't disappear there for good.
It's easier to use after a few months. Don't give up before trying it for the whole three months as it takes a bit of time to get used to it, for me it's no longer any weird thing - it's so easy to use in every way.
13Started the Nuva Ring about a week ago and so far so good!
