I like to think I look cute when I come to work, but my dress is pretty modest and laid-back. Some women, on the other hand, use coming to the office as an excuse to look their best. I love seeing style around the office, but knowing your audience is incredibly important — seeing your co-worker's provocative side could be slightly uncomfortable! Since we're all different, tell me, do you dress sexy for work?

Nah not unless I'm going somewhere after and even still I might just change before I leave here.
1"sexy" is kind of a difficult category. Like the picture above, homegirl is, in my opinion, office appropriate, but still sexy. If that's considered sexy, than sometimes I do dress that way at work. Today... yay casual friday.
2It really depends on what you consider sexy. I love well fitted A-line skirts, high heels, and button down shirts that show a bit of cleavage. But I'd never dress to provoke sex in a skin baring way a la Erin Brockovich.
3Jeans, flip flops and a t-shirt. Hardly sexy.
4One morning I couldn't find a hairbrush, so I didn't even brush my hair. My office is the epitome of laid-back.
I will be wearing jeans, top and fleece when I start work. I'm going to be a social worker... anything else would be highly inappropriate!
5Before I met my husband, I worked at a newspaper and had a crush on one of my editors, so I tried to do the sexy thing, but couldn't really pull it off, lol. It bugs me when I see women who are supposed to be professional with slits down their shirts to show off cleavage (like Cuddy on House - gross) or super tight skirts. I think to be taken seriously a girl needs to dress classy.
6It's hard to dress sexy when you wear scrubs to work!
7i wear similar stuff to the girl in the picture, so it's work appropriate but some might find it "sexy" yet not revealing or inapropriate
i try to mostly when i know i'm meeting my bf after work cuz he loves a hot work outfit. i go with higher heels and more fitted skirts
8I'll wear a cute top or skirt and look good but breaking out the tight skirts and plunging necklines for work is inappropriate.
9Haha, this makes me think of a lady I used to work for. She was close to 50 yrs old and she wore mini skirts to work a lot. She also would wear high heels to our promo events for the gym. She was the joke of the office.
I kind of felt bad for her, she was so insecure. All she would do is talk about herself and try to draw attention to herself by wearing clothes that even I wouldn't wear to work as a 20 something.
10Others may not find it sexy, but i do. Confidence is sexy! I dress in nice trousers and blouses often... and i'm in a 'technical' field... dominated by men.. so yea, that is pretty sexy.
11No. For work attire, I prefer elegant and chic over sexy. I save sexy for weekend wear.
12The lady in the picture is not dressed sexy. she is dressed professional.
13The problem is really what are we considering to be sexy?
What that woman is wearing in the pic would be completely modest if she was wearing a blazer with it. And I have to mention that clothing stores from The Limited to Saks tout the "young professional" look to be more provocative then days of old. Look at the shoes they are giving us to wear?! and you want me to throw on penny loafers ??
So if turtle necks and badly fitting pants are considered conservitive, then heck no I'm not going to do it. But the collered shirts with some stretch, and "The Editor" pants from Express are my daily uniform... I can't help it if guys in the office have a thing for that "Librarian" Look...
14My office is tiny and we don't meet with customers in person so it is extremely casual. Jeans, tshirts, flip flops - I could probably walk in in my PJ's and it would be OK.
15Definitely nothing provocative. I work in academics, and I would really lose face if I dressed up sexy. I mean most academics even consider loose hair or slight makeup 'over the top', so sexy clothes is really a no no! 'Austerity' (
) is very important to make an impression
in intellectual circles.
I try to look polished an well-groomed, but I maintain my simplicity.
16Since I have to wear a uniform, definitely not sexy at all.
17No. I dress pretty boring/conservative, partially because sexy isn't appropriate in a law office IMO, and partially because I look bad in sexy clothes. I look like a child playing dress up or something. I need a stylist!
I think the lady's outfit in the picture is fine, cute even. it's the bending over that might cause a problem!
18I work in a synagogue, so no.
19I like looking attractive, but not sexy. We have one woman in our office that wears mini skirts and knee high boots, and clients have commented on how inappropriate it is. It's one thing to get admiring looks around the office, but I really don't want anyone leering at me or thinking that I'm looking for a date.
20I would never wear a short skirt or excessive cleavage to work, but I think it's important to look stylish and nice. It gives off a clean, put-together impression.
21LOL Jude...What, no miniskirts or bra tops in the synagogue?
I agree with most everyone...I don't dress *revealing* at work, but I certainly FEEL hella sexy in my pencil skirts, cute slacks, and blouses or tops. You know you're a grown up when *sexy* no longer equals *revealing/slutty*.
great poll, Dear! I love these conversations.
22Yup, depends on what's "sexy"
I love a fitted button down shirt with slacks and high heels.. or a pencil skirt and a cardigan ... I think it's chic/ stylish but not "sexy."
23No thanks, I work in a predominately male environment as a scientist. I'd never be taken seriously if my triple D's were hanging out for all to see.
24I agree with Mondaymoos - some people, many people actually, are just naturally sexy, they exude sexy. They can wear a potato sack and be sexy. I also happen to think the woman in the picture is dressed appropriately for work, how she's "standing" at the filing cabinet is another story lol.
25A sexy woman should need to dress boarderline slutty to look sexy, she just needs her confidence. Even scrubs can be sexy
. I find woman doctors sexy even
, but right now I'm finding women chefs sexy
.
26No, i wouldn't ever show up in a too tight or low-cut top or a mini. I find that innapropriate even for me.
27i do, but i'm a poll dancer so it's kind of expected.
28Good one lickety
I like what the lady in the picture is wearing, it's cute.
29no - i don't dress 'sexy' but i do dress with a noticeable style so people will take a second to admire what i'm wearing. i think that there's a time and place to be 'sexy' and work is not that place. when i met my fiance, we worked at the same agency, and i did try to wear heels more and cute outfits, but no one at all would ever say that i wasn't dressing appropriately.
30If you categorize dressing "sexy" for work like the posted picture than yes I do...
I wear fitted knee-length skirts...and nice blouses BUT I would never wear anything showing cleavage or short skirts with do-me baby pumps on lol.
31it's damn near impossible to dress sexy in scrubs.
32I go to work everyday in an EMT uniform...while it's tailored to fit me niiiicely, it's no way near sexy
33I dont all the time but I do enjoy putting a sexy outfit 2 to 3 times a month.
It makes me feel good.
34sexy and slutty are completely different. something decent can be sexy too. u cant wear slutty stuff to a work place. but u can wear something decent yet sexy to office. do i make sense?
