Anderson Cooper, who is the face, name, and mind behind Anderson Cooper 360° on CNN, pulled in 39 percent of the vote, with Tom Brokaw and Ann Curry trailing behind with 14 and 13 percent. What do readers love about Cooper? Plenty of commenters complimented his friendly face (OK, I'll admit it, they called him "sexy"), and said he comes off as a smart, nice guy.
On top of his nightly show, Cooper played a major role in CNN's America Votes 2008 coverage, reporting from both national conventions. He also provided special reports for CBS's 60 Minutes.

10TS, perhaps being on reality TV sets you up for ridicule by the likes of Perez Hilton, but Anderson Cooper holds a position that comes with some higher expectations. Even if you're not a newscaster, it's sort of tacky for an adult to insult a little girl.
And lets not forget that at 14, the reality show was ultimately her mother's doing.

The funniest part of it all, is a rarely watch network news, maybe election night or some huge event (like Bush dodging a sandal) - so I mostly love him for when I see him on other shows as a guest claiming no opinion b/c he is a journalist.

14I met Anderson Cooper a few years ago, and he was just as nice and gracious and handsome as ever.
I also won't hold his comment about Ali Lohan against him, as it was more a charge toward Dina Lohan and her lack of parental boundaries. And because I agreed with every, single thing that he said about her. If I hadn't had previous knowledge of her being 14, I clearly would have thought she was in her late 20s possibly early 30s. At one point Ali was looking older than Lindsay
I'm happy to see him win this.
15So yeah the blatant Brian Williams ignoring in this result announcement, despite all the comments on the poll that wished he had been included, just furthers my annoyance with this poll even more. I like Anderson well enough, but he would have had a tougher competition if Brian Williams had been included.

I really don't care what anybody has to say about the Lohans and it certainly wouldn't effect who I got my news from. And for the record, I don't think he was wrong. Dina is very blatantly using her girls. There is a special booth in hell reserved for her and Lynne Spears.

I thought it was going to be a show about some kind of blemish he had that he was going to show everyone and i hoped it was in a naughty place.
32He said they were "horrific people" and that the 14 year old girl "looks to be about 60." It wasn't a "Oh she's so mature for her age" comment, it was a catty remark about the appearance of a 14 year old girl. If any of you know how hard it is to be a 14 year old girl (and I know you do) then you should know it was wrong of Cooper to make that comment.
Regardless of how good of a reporter he is, I can't personally take him seriously if he won't apologize for something like that. It's seriously inappropriate. It's just one incident, so this isn't an attack on those who like him, I just think he messed up.
