The power of scent is indescribably strong. A simple whiff can bring back memories of a special moment or person in your life. Smells can also affect your dreams while you sleep, and the unique way a person smells may play a part in who you choose for a mate. It may also interest you to know that a woman's sense of smell is actually stronger than a man's, especially during the time she ovulates.

Certain scents may also have a way of getting you excited. Maybe it's the sweet aroma of clean skin (or sweaty skin for that matter!) or his freshly washed hair that gets you going. Whatever it is, do tell, what scents put you in the mood for love?

1I love the smell of my fiance on his pillow. Mmmm
2Every man has his own scent. So, I'd have to say that I'd be attracted to 'his' scent a few hours after he's showered. Or 'clean' sweat after cutting the grass or something. I rarely like cologne. A great herbal body wash is great. Oh! B&BWorks aromatherapy Lavendar chamomille smells great on guys. (my son has it)
*Ya'll know by know I'm on a man strike.
3well i know i absolutely despise AXE.. so over used. I adore old spice, my boyfriend currently uses the 'swagger' type, the bodywash only, so he never 'over uses' anything, that mixed in with whatever he does his laundry with... haha best smell ever. he smells great.... on the other and, his apartment stinks, smells like cigarettes (his roommate smokes in the house i think, he has too, the scent is too strong) and "old apartment".. heinous.
then again, my apartment smells like an old apartment too, but im addicted to candles.
4haha, le romantique, we're opposites. i love axe, but i hate old spice (my dad uses it, and overuses it to boot).
i dunno if there's a scent specifically... but i do love it when i'm sitting on the bus, and some boy who smells absolutely marvelous sits next to me. it makes it painful to get off at my stop though.
5Love the smell of her hair, drives me nuts. OKay so I love smelling her period...drives me nuts either way
. (haha, sometimes I sniff her hair like those crazy hair sniffing weirdos
)
6I love the way my boyfriend smells, even without cologne there is something about the scent his body gives off, it drives me crazy.
7i don't know what 'man' smell my man has - but i love it (not the sweaty one but the just showered and i want to snuggle one).
if we're talking random though, then i would have to say 'aqua de gio' - yes i know that every college guy wears it, but it smells SO GODO
8really ilanac13? what does a godo smell like? hehe just playing with ya
pippins_: agree with you fully, I hate Old Spice and I simply love all Axes (I could easily be one of those crazy chicks in the commercials).
What I love the most though is the mixture of his natural smell mixed with the coconut oil he sometimes rubs in his hair. Or just the former
9^_~ Axe really does work, just waiting for more women to act on the scent.
10yes! luv all of them
I was just thinking, it really does make sense that we're only attracted to mates that we think smell good. I mean, I can't remember ever being attracted to a guy without distinctly remembering that he smelled good
. It's something subconscious that works even
before we notice it.
11Not to be a perv. But...
"Love the smell of her hair, drives me nuts.
OKay so I love smelling her period...drives me nuts either way Sticking out tongue. (haha, sometimes I sniff her hair like those crazy hair sniffing weirdos")
The second line threw me off for a sec.
In response to the post:
I constantly get busted smelling my husband. He uses an oil from Ethiopia. It is smooth, lightly musky....I don't know what the actual name is, but if you could imagine a glowing ruby. It would be like that. Because its an oil it blends nicely with your body. It's so delicious.
12First off, let me just say I can't stand Axe. Yuck. It reminds me of my old Jr. High school boys' locker room (not like I ever went in there or anything...
)
I don't really know if I love a certain scent for a guy. I've realized everyone has a specific scent, something that just smells like them. For instance, when I've broken up with a guy before, everything seems to smell like them for weeks haha. It's very frustrating. I think when you like/love a person, however, you like however they smell (most of the time at least!), just because it's a part of them.
Also I am not too big on cologne. Guys should smell good, but it should be a manly scent, and not too strong. I pay much more attention to perfume anyway (for women! lol).
13^LoL, I know it sounded pervy. Well she used to use this hair conditioning cream that drove me wild, while she doesn't use it anymore, her natural scent even drives me nuts. I used to move close to her to just sniff her hair. Now her aura just drives me wild, but I still like her scent (whether or not she takes a shower).
14HA I am on my phone and accidently put a
face -- I meant to put " =X " lol oh wow. Oops.
15GScott - I totally thought you meant something else! I was all "Whaaaa???"
My favorite smell for my guy is when it's kind of the end of the day and I can smell a mixture of his deodorant and sweat...Not like gross body odor, but just his scent.
16LoLz, I didn't even realize what I was saying might have come out wrong, hahah.
Whatever I likes all the smells anyway
.
17"I hate Old Spice and I simply love all Axes (I could easily be one of those crazy chicks in the commercials)."
YES! I totally could be one of them too! Haha.
18Wow, GScott, I was thrown off by that second line too, a bit shocked for a min. there, LOL. And my bf totally loves smelling my hair too, he's always sniffing my head, lol, it's really funny and cute.
I love one of the Axe's, ex wore it.
My bf has a couple different cologne's but the best is Ralph Lauren Polo Black (I think that's what it's called), which is amazing. Yummy.
And I love the fresh soapy shower smell. Those will "put me in the mood".
19And my bf works on cars a lot, so smells like oil and all that other car stuff, lol, which actually smells really good and "manly" to me, that one doesn't get me in the mood though, it is just sexy, haha.
I agree with you Muirnea! For some reason every time my boy gets out of the shower I want to pounce on him! I really love that fresh clean scent. I'm also a fan of cologne (as long as it's not too strong). And actually I find the smell of leather on a guy very alluring as well.
20My husband's skin. His natural scent makes my knees weak. I'm serious.
When we were first dating, the first time I hugged him, and caught a whiff of his natural scent, I swooned. He smelled DELICIOUS to me.
I remembered this clearly. No other man had this effect on me (and I've had a few serious
relationships before him, and dated some men casually).
It's no wonder I married him.
21There are a lot of nice and pleasant smells, but a smell with engine revving power? Freshly showered is nice, but the point when you get a liiittle sweaty after a shower. Oooh yeah. And when you're a lot sweaty but before the point it gets to be bad B.O.? Oooooh yeah. I don't know, it's a very delicate balance. Hee. I guess it's a pheromone thing, too, since it doesn't work with just anyone. Seriously, I know I'm attracted to someone if I like the smell of his sweat.
I really hate it when guys overdo the cologne. Definite turn off for me.
It seems pretty common for men to like smelling hair. Either that or there's something about my hair. Anyway, liking the smell of hair isn't that weird, either.
22My husband's natural a little after he showers scent, and the scent he leaves when he goes to work and I go to snuggle in his warm spot
Also, his cologne he wears sometime makes me want to pounce 'em.
23Huh? I can still understand GScott's comment only the 'wrong'/pervy way. Someone care to explain what he DID mean? sorry
24Oh, I finally see how some can read GScott's "Love the smell of her hair, drives me nuts. OKay so I love smelling her period" the dirty way. Haha.
No, I don't think he means he smells her pubic hair and her menstruation. He means the hair on the top of her head. And the last sentence is just missing a comma, that's all. It should read "I love smelling her, period." Period as in the punctuation mark, not the red tide.
I would be kind of disturbed if someone were really turned on by the smell of blood. That would be kind of creepy.
25LOL
ok so i get it now
26I love the way my bf smells too...just the way he smells. A mix of his cologne, his laundry detergent, his body wash and deodourent. Mmm....I esp like the way he smells when he wakes up in the morning next to me or when gets home after a day of work..the clean sweat smell not gross sweat....
27Phew, I'm so glad I wasn't alone here. You can go out on a limb and be totally off. Just another example of text conversation being misinterpreted.....or improper punctuation. : P
28Sometimes when my boyfriend leaves the room I bury my head in his sweatshirt and get a combination of his body smell, deodorant, and cigarettes and when he comes back he wonders why I'm all over him. hehe.
29It's crazy what smells do to me.
