On last night's episode of The Hills, Lauren had to pack up her room at her parents' house in preparation for their move. She and Lo took a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about first kisses, homecoming, and taking steps toward adulthood. My parents still live in the same house I grew up in, so I don't know what it would feel like to have to say goodbye to all those memories. But looking back at your childhood home, what was your favorite memory there?

i thought she only moved into that house in high school? wasn't there an episode of laguna beach where she was moving into it. doesn't sound like a "childhood home" to me...
1I miss a lot of things.
My favorite memory was my room with my own entrace. I could always have people over and hang out. I miss being carefree then. and enjoying the summer nights.
...
2yah they only moved into that house when she was like 16 or 17
3but it was one sick house for sure!
agreed, she just moved there in high school-
4my fondest memory of my childhood house in the islands was running around chasing chickens.
my fondest memory of my childhood apartment in nyc was putting on shows w/my sister for the fam.
Mine was playing outside in the backyard with my dog, Maggie. It was a really sweet little neighborhood and I haven't had a yard for quite a while. There were lots of other kids around too, so it was a great place to grow up.
5Everything, and it makes me sad that I will never be able to be there again since we sold it. But, I have to say, since my old house is gone, it has made me think more and more about getting my own house and creating all new memories.
6I miss being able to ride my bike to the houses of the kids I grew up with and went to K-9 with.
7Well...I moved to a few houses during my life. I consider my "childhood home" the one I moved into when I was 11 and stayed there until I was 18. The previous house I was in for 7 years as well.
Let's see, the first house I was in...my favorite memory is always using my room as a jungle gym, or gymnastics equipment. I used the bar in my closet to do flips, I was always doing cartwheels, and other things my mom would have hated. I also loved to slide down the stairs on my butt or on a cardboard box. I remember coming home to a new kitten one day after school, and a new dog two years later. I loved that house.
The next house is what I consider my childhood home. I had a very rough time there, with an abusive dad and all of that stuff. But, I also fell in love for the first time, had my first huge crush, found my best friend. We also did stupid stuff, hung out, had water fights in my backyard, swam in the pool, took dips in the jacuzzi. We played basketball on the basketball court in the backyard, I learned how to build things. I buried my first pet of my own -- a little hamster. I moved up from grammar school, middle school, and graduated from high school there. I look back on that house with the most fondness, not even about one specific event, because I experienced so much there, and I can see my life, every serious milestone up until the time I left when I think of that house, when I pass by that house. Granted, it was a bit tainted, and I do not miss it -- but the memories remain.
8Of course it brings fond memories! The best memories are being able to actually play music loud enough and not having neighbors complain about it. I also miss how cozy and clean our house always was (thanks to my mother.) She always kept it smelling and looking fresh and even though I try to recreate that in my own apartment, it's tough! I just miss the feeling of being carefree and just having fun.
9I was very spoiled when I was little and had my own train to ride around in the playroom with my cat. Definitely my favorite memory.
10I'm in the same boat as Chrstne, only I move around more frequently. It's corny, but I don't think of a house or building as my "childhood home" -- I think of my family as my home. Moving around a lot helped me forge a really strong bond with my parents and little brother. So I feel most "at home" when I'm with them, and they are the source of all my childhood memories.
11My husband & I bought my childhood home from my parents a few years ago. They had rented it out for the 10 years before that.
My favorite thing is the thought of having my OWN children in the house I grew up in!! And thinking about what memories they will make!
Surprisingly enough, I have no "ghosts" or overpowering memories living in this house again - I think it helped that I saw strangers in it for so many years. It's been nice for my husband & I to make the house our own.
12Living in NYC in an apartment has made me realize how much I miss living in the suburbs and having a house with a backyard. I miss our fireplace, having tons of church people over our house all the time, taking my dogs on long walks without the fear of being hit on by creepy strangers, going for long drives, WaWa and Brew HaHa (coffee shop), and so much more... ugh this is making me miss DE sooo much!!!!
13My parents still own and live in the house I have always lived in since I was born. And I am still temporarily living here during part of college.
I liked it like that though.
14What I miss is how it used to be around here. When I was little we didn't have to have a fence for our dogs and random neighbor dogs would visit all the time, and it was pretty much woods for miles. There were like 10 people on the road total. One subdivision maybe. Now it's really really grown up, it takes like 10 min. to get out of my driveway onto the road b/c of traffic sometimes. So I miss the casual, country feel of the area, it's all suburbs and shops and restaurants and people now. Everyone used to look when one car drove down the road, b/c there were so few people.
I miss the family dinners. We ate together as a family every night and it was always an adventure!
153rd Country I'm living in, but one of the fondest memories is standing or sitting outside of my back door I think it was, and looking toward the horizon. I kinda of lived in an apartment complex in the countryside, so I was looking into a nice wide green field for about mile long. I loved it when the sun was out, but I especially loved it watching thunderstorms in the distance, while sitting in the sun. I loved it when it rained, both sunny rain and dark rain. The rainbows afterward were beautiful. That was the last time I saw a true rainbow in the sky.
16Oh, and that memory was from the second country...St. Lucia, from when I was 6.
17I miss having a huge ass house and a huge ass bedroom. Also miss eating breakfast together as a fam and miss living near all my little buddies
18I have so many great memories,it's hard to pick only one in particular.Just recently my siblings and I have decided to sell the house in a couple of years (both of my parents are deceased now).It makes me so incredibly sad.
Honestly I miss everything about the house I grew up in but my most fondest memories are of all the holidays spent there with my immediate and extended families. There was always so much happiness, laughing, and good times.....
19I miss playing on the huge swing we had in the sitting room ...
20It was a huge wodden couch like swing and my sister n I used to spend lazy afternoons there playin our random imaginary games ...
It was so much fun ... and life was so not complicated back then ...
We had a river in the backyard, and a few times every summer we'd go rafting... I never appreciated it when I lived there, but I miss it so much now!
21Our little "clubhouse" under the front stairs. My dad built a door and a window and we would do everything under there. I had my first "kiss" under there (^_^). And by kiss, I mean a little peck on the cheek. I was 8, he was 11.
22I move every couple of years, so I've never really been attached to the house- I'm still fond of all the memories I made there, but they're memories of the actual events and I've never attached them to the actual house- if that makes sense.
