At local MMA (sometimes they have boxing at these) shows, I think they mostly get whoever says yes, but at some bigger shows, I've seen them use hooters girls and even strippers (that was in Atlantic City).

My bf asks me why I wouldn't do it, and I just tell him that it takes a "special" girl to want to be a ring girl. Think about it.

Well the fact that they asked you must mean that you are a very attractive girl.
Men are going to drool over regardless so you might as well make some money off of it. Use your sexual appeal as an advantage rather than a disadvantage.

Leila, things like that are actually really empowering! You get to see the wonderful extreme that female sexuality has and just how silly men get over it. Now if she were being exploited and nude up there, that'd be one thing. But in a bikini or booty shorts? As long as she isn't all touching herself or having others rub on her, then it's just a really fun experience. But when it goes beyond that, that's when it'd take a "special" type.

I have had so many offerings lately for modeling/promo work but I can't My bf would flip if i was strutting around in a bikini. And I knwo everyone will be like "You're your own person! Berlin - I say that "tongue in cheek". Personally, I don't feel empowered by using my body. Some girls do. . .I get that. I just feel like when women say that they are empowered by using their "female sexuality" they are playing into the system. Just be honest with yourself and say you like the attention and find it good for your self esteem, you know?

Why don't you try it? Unless you have to sign some contract saying you'll commit to them for a year. $1000/night is a lot of money just to strut around a ring for a few hours. If you don't have any moral qualms about it, why not? Oh, and make sure there's nothing shady going on, because that sure is a lot of money for a few hours' work.

my bf is a mma fighter (not amateur) and at the matches no one even pays attention to the chicks so i don't think you have that much to worry about.

DO IT!!!! Make sure they won't do anything nasty like pimp you out for after the show or make you sign a contract....but WHY NOT? The first time, make sure you have a big guy friend there to drop you off and pick you up just to be 100% sure of your safety. DO IT!!!!!!!

Do it! OMG, if that was offered to me I would never had posted this question...I'd be too busy strutting and holding a number. I agree with lilcroat03, in all honesty you will probably be out for0-45 seconds at a time and most (not all) will be more amped up about the fight than your hotness.

I'm all about women doing what they want to do if that's their choice. I'm probably going to get a lot of flack for this but here it goes: I'm all for call girls, strippers, dancers, ring-girls, jello-wrestlers and all other forms of hot female fun in said females have made the choice for themselves and are proud in what they do. I can't stand some (again, not all) "feminists" who said NO woman should exploit their bodies for any reason..but I say if that woman made her choice and stands by it proudly, then she has made HER CHOICE. if youre comfortable with your body and can use the money then you aren't really doing anything crazy. i'm sure theres that many guys at the beach when you go in a bathing suit so whats the problem? as long as at the end of the night you know who you are and what you are comfortable with, theres no problem with strutting your stuff for a few minutes for that hefty of a paycheck. have fun with it.

This sounds like one of those things that are too good to be true. Why would someone pay that much for a fight ring girl? Like other people mentioned, the known going rate is not that much, nobody pays enough attention to the girls for it to matter $1000's worth a night, and there are likely plenty of hot women who'd do it for much less, so it just makes no sense as a legit offer.

Hey, we ARE in a recession, the people who organize these things are in it to make as much money for themselves as possible. They're not going to throw bunches of money away on something like paying the ring girl, especially not at a time when all the bosses of the world are tightening their wad and paying their workers as little as possible.

This will either end up ripping you off or putting you in danger, or both. Best case scenario, you'd end up not getting paid that much because they'll tell you they're taking training/wardrobe/makeup fees out of your pay, or whatever (maybe you'll even end up owing them money!) Worst case, you'd end up surrounded by criminals, unable to escape, and forced to do anything they want you to do.

If you must try this (at your own risk), at least use every resource you have to check this thing's legitimacy. Have a contract so everything is in black and white (and read all the fine print). Make sure friends and/or family know where you'll be and when to be concerned if they don't hear from you. Be super careful with anything you drink. And yeah, by all means try and have a friend there looking out for you, though I'd fear if things get ugly your friend might be in danger too.

Normally, I wouldn't think a ring girl gig is such a big deal, but this particular price tag is fishy. Feels to me very much like a twist on the old "modeling career scam" (which is the thing that can end in either of the scenarios I wrote about just now).

I get how it can be tempting, but please, be very careful. Don't get ripped off and be safe out there.
