This year's presidential campaign offered enough material to skyrocket ratings of shows like SNL and reminded most of us why we love late night TV. Tina Fey poofed her hair and turned out a dead-on impression of Sarah Palin, while John Stewart, Stephen Colbert, David Letterman, Jay Leno, and Bill Maher delivered cutting and comedic insight on the candidates, news, and general state of the world night after night on their prospective programs. Which of these political comedians had you LOLing through the very best moments of 2008?

Anthony Peto
Matthew Williamson
John Frieda
Colbert all the way! But I love to watch the rest to!
1I vote Colbert!!! I am seriously in love with him.
I like John Stewart too, but he just delivers funny lines (usually laughing so hard you can't understand him), Stephen is the full package.
Oh and I can't stand Maher for some reason, he comes off as an a-hole to me.
2Stewart, Colbert, and then Lettermen
3Jon Stewart! The daily show is the best.
4I agree zeze...he does come off like an ass sometimes! But I'm not gonna lie he is funny!
5No one beats Colbert
6AHH, liberal, liberal, liberal, liberal, liberal, liberal....
where is Dennis Miller?
7COLBERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8I'm torn between Tina Fey and Stephen Colbert.
9I voted Fey though.
its hard for me to choose between colbert and stewart but i chose colbert anyway. i love them both!
10"AHH, liberal, liberal, liberal, liberal, liberal, liberal....
where is Dennis Miller?"
I thought conservatives were against progams like affirmative action? CS should not include him when he's not as funny as the rest (by the scientific standards used to calculate this poll) just for the sake of diversity.
Oh and Colbert is the bestest fake republican ever, clearly not a liberal.
11Gahh I love Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert equally.. but the coin has spoken. Daily Show it is.
12Colbert > Stewart
13Colbert is FABULOUS.
14Seriously, haus. Not even an "Other."
15Although, I don't find any political humor funny, regardless of affiliation.
Where is Dennis Miller or an "other" choice?
16Should have read comments first!
17I mean tina fey?!? She does one impression because she looks like the person.
18COLBERT!!
Dennis Miller has always been kinda meh to me, even when he was on SNL back in the day. I'm also not a prude in any way, shape, or form, but I always kind of think he swears just for shock value, which is kind of weird to me.
19i loved when the big man called out john mccain
20I actually love the guy who comes on the Daily show as the "Arab" representative. I can't remember his name or his fake daily show name, does anyone here know? I also like the British representative, so I picked the Jon Stewart to represent the Arab guy and the Daily Show as a whole. Stephen Colbert is funny, but he can't top three funny people.
21jessie, I think you're talking about Asif Mandvi, and he's technically the "Muslim" representative, not an Arab, I think he is Indian.
22Oh really, I guess it was the "Arab Family Man" discussion that threw me.
23And thanks I love him to pieces...I would totally be into him getting a bigger segment and it would be a plus on the political comedy sphere (and sadly the political sphere period) for Brown people as a whole.
24haha...ya, I know which one you're talking about, and I think he did call him self the "brown people" representative, but I assumed since he was Indian, and that is what Indians, as I've heard, have been called, I thought he meant that. Arabs are harder to color-code, the seem to come in every shade from Dita von Tesse white to Djimon Hounsou black, lol, but I think you're right, he probably adopted Arabs too.
25I want to marry Stephen Colbert
He's hilarious.
26Oh zeze brown people is I term I use because I'm a mutt (Cuban/African American/Japenese) who is brown and it is easier and all inclusive
. He looked like one of my Muslim Pakistan friends, but I didn't want to assume. He looks a
little clay-red in undertones to be Indian, but you are right Indian comes in many shades and undertones. All my Indian friends have yellowish-beige undertones to their brown skin.
27How can you make me choose between Stephen, Jon, and Bill?!
28Does dennis miller even have a show? Last time I saw that guy he was in "The Net".
29Other than him who else? I can't really think of any other ones...
dennis miller hasn't been funny since the Bush I administration
30how about an "all of the above" option? lol
but since I have to choose, i'll say stewart because I he never, ever fails to make me LOL.
31I have to agree with yesteryear, Miller isn't funny anymore. I personally enjoy Bill Maher, he doesn't hold back and he's just as funny and outgoing in person as he is on TV. Jon Stewart would be my number two with Stephen Colbert being number three. I personally cannot stand Tina Fey and I don't watch her.
32everyone except leno! his show and jokes have been awful for a long time now~~~
33Soooo because 2 people say he isn't funny it must be a fact?
Apprently there are no such things as opinion anymore. I think Jon Stewart isn't funny so that must be a fact and you all must be wrong... thats how it works right?
Dennis Miller has his own radio show, does USO tours, and comments on Fox News a lot.
34This is why we need a somewhat conservative writer on this site! One sided quizes, polls, stories... I mean really, don't we want to see a side we're not all being hit over the head with every day?
Maybe we could learn something new!
35Umm Hausfrau don't you have Citizen or did she leave.
36And Citizen did this poll, last time I checked she was Republican or maybe she's not I'm not sure.
37WAde, the citizen we all knew and loved was fired and replaced with another liberal.
38And that isn't speculation, that is straight from the horse's mouth.
39Which horse? Did the old Citizen tell you she was replaced by a liberal or did the new Citizen tell you she is a liberal?
40Old Citizen
41OMG when did that happen?? What the hell I'm behind the curve.
42I'm not sure of the exact date, but I know it was not long before the election.
43Well any reason why?
44You're right its not fair to have two liberals or two conservatives.
45"Soooo because 2 people say he isn't funny it must be a fact?
Apprently there are no such things as opinion anymore."
Those were opinions...
46I went with Steweart, but its really his whole show. The supporting commentators are hilarious.
47Yes Citizen was canned before election day.. I think it was super crappy esp. because of all the work she did about he election, to take that away from her is not right.
And now we have 2 liberal writers.... soooooo I guess we will learn nothing new.
48I may not have agreed with Citizen all the time but I really enjoyed her writing style and at least she TRIED to be fairly moderate.
I guess thats too much to ask now.
49I thought someone said she was happy at her new job. I took it to mean she left.
And yes, it is pretty obvious the new citizen is either liberal or a moderate who leans liberal most of the time. Just visit her page.
