We had plenty of quality time with our favorite anchors and hosts in 2008 — from the campaign trail and the presidential debates to weekly, morning, and nightly news shows. Which of these friendly faces has the wit, voice, reputation and that certain something special that makes you put down the remote?
This year has been especially thrilling for fans of politics and news, so I can't wait to find out all your favorite things in 2008!

O'Neill
Miu Miu
Oliver Bonas
Diane Sawyer will always be my favorite, but Anderson Cooper is sexy.
1My boo!!!
2Why is there no option to vote for Brian Williams?! I tune in to him every night to find out what's happened that day.
3I like Brian Williams.
4OOOOHHHHHH ANDERSON. I like Brian Williams too! I can't believe so many people picked Ann Curry, I can't stand her!
5Andersen and then Rachel Maddow.
6Ann Curry is a terrible at interviewing, she ask questions and then answers them in the same sentence.
7Koppel then Maddow.
8Shepard Smith is with out a doubt my favorite newsman...if only he didn't work for Fox I might actually still watch him. His coverage during the beginning of the war with Iraq and Hurricane Katrina was incredibly interesting, sad, and ironically even humorous. His personality was a perfect antidote for watching these major points in history. I just wish they would unleash him.
9How can you exclude Brian Williams?
10I am staging a protest, NO BRIAN WILLIAMS?????
Not only is he my favorite, but also secretly want to marry him!
(number 2 is Stephen Colbert)
11where's Matt Lauer!?! (although I voted for Anderson Cooper
12love me some tom brokaw! he's my hero
13I love Rachel Maddow and Keith Olberman!
14In the poll, I voted for Gwen Ifill because she's my favorite besides those two.
anderson cooper. yummy and funny.
15Anderson and then Rachel Maddow
16Just as suspected not a single one from Fox News, figures!
17Add them, people have added Brian Williams, Matt Lauer and Shepard Smith.
18Anderson and Rachel Maddow..
19but where's Stephen Colbert people? get with it!
Brian Williams!
20I should have voted for Couric, the way she kept on Palin during her interview.
21I can't respect Ifill after her horrendous attempt to moderate a debate.
Colbert is always the best.
Colbert (his writing team?) is brilliant.
22"I can't respect Ifill after her horrendous attempt to moderate a debate"
..really? I thought she did ok, she was passive, sure, but it was understandable after everyone called her bias before the debate started. I could see how she wanted to stay out of it so no one could claim any bias, unfortunately our skilled politicians don't answer questions without a little arm twisting.
23Where are O'Reilly and Hannity?
24Megyn Kelly??
We're doing a pundit poll soon!!
25Thanks, Liberty, that's good to know.
26I didn't catch the distinction.
But Megyn's primary job is co-anchor of the weekday morning news.
Plus, she has a background in journalism, she isn't just a talking head.

Good Morning, Good Morning, In the news this morning, Good Morning...
Had to throw that out for all of the Soup fans! Thanks for the laugh, Ann!
My favorite is Rachel Maddow and then Chuck Todd (love how he focuses on facts and stats). Since they weren't options, I went with Anderson. I thought he really illuminated the tragic reality of Katrina in a way that no other journalist did. He has come quite a way since his days on Channel One!
27"Shepard Smith is with out a doubt my favorite newsman...His coverage during the beginning of the war with Iraq and Hurricane Katrina was incredibly interesting"
Wow, that is very interesting.
That is the beauty of different perspectives!
28I was really amazed during the beginning of the Iraq war when I heard him report numerous times that WMDs had been found, or that Saddam was dead...when it was completely not true. I am not trying to be argumentative, because we are all entitled to our opinions, and he does have a engaging personality...I just find it very facinating that we would get different impressions from the same coverage!
Haha, Jilliness, my fiance and I were JUST watching the Today show this morning and she really does do that! When I saw it on The Soup I thought it was a one time thing, but nope...GOOD MORNING!
29Write in vote for Shep Smith!
30my vote is for brian williams!
31Um, can anyone see my comment? Because I can't.. maybe its just Chrome...
33Anyway, I voted for Anderson, he's neutral and cute *le sigh*
34That's weird, Mina--I can't see your comment, either. I only know what you said because it showed up in my Gmail.
35Jillness, like I said, Shep does work for Fox ~ thus much of what they report is either untrue or a bad case of jumping the gun before the facts are in. Both he and David Bloom reporting for the Today show from his "Bloom mobile" in 2003 in Iraq were so interesting and humorous, that I actually took 3-days off from work just to watch it non-stop as well as CNN and MSNBC. Shep just had a genuinely funny personality and way of presenting information; unfortunately he is forced to tone it down for the news. The part where they found a video from Al Jazeera to try to show that Iraq still had an army...SOMEWHERE was pretty comical ~ And was hilariously expounded upon in a play called Saturday's Voyeur in Utah that year or the next.
36the silver fox!
37O'reilly has a fan?
kidding!!!
38Momma, like him or not, he does get big ratings.
39I'm partial to cranky folks, though, when they're mostly balanced and well-intentioned. Too many news folks are colorless sycophants.
"...Fox ~ thus much of what they report is either untrue or a bad case of jumping the gun before the facts are in."
Because folks like Chris Matthews are the model of journalistic ethics and objectivity.
Even the press (was it the New York Times?) finally admitted that election coverage was biased, pro-Obama. *After* the election, of course.
40lol jillness!
I love how joel has to throw that in to every single episode even though it was like a year and a half ago! (I always look at the date lol)
41How about a poll for who you like the least? LOL Mine would Katie Couris. Ugggh. Grrrr. She makes my skin crawl for some reason. And why wasn't there a choice for Brian Williams? He's cool.
42NOT Ann Curry.
43I love Shep.. I secretly woild love to marry him. But i Voted for AC 360. SDo funny he his
44Rachel Maddow
45I love Ann she's every body's Gal I love Andrson too but thoughts of him bring up other thoughts besides favorite anchor.
46I LOVEEE my man Anderson!
lol
