Now that the election season is over, we can look back on those campaign ads that invaded our living rooms nonstop and determine which one we like best!
From a simple YouTube video comparing Barack Obama to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears to a 30-minute primetime infomercial, the candidate sales pitches came in all shapes and sizes. Mike Huckabee even teamed up with Chuck Norris to make an ad full of Chuck Norris jokes, and Paris Hilton herself hit the campaign airwaves with a video announcing her candidacy.
This year has been especially thrilling for fans of politics and news, so I can't wait to find out what you loved most about 2008!

I don't like any political campaign ads, maybe i they didn't run them soooo much.
1I think the celebrity one was my favorite. It was the dumbest. All it did was alienate Paris Hilton's parents who had maximized their individual donations to McCain's campaign weeks earlier.
2It wasn't on the list but I think my favorite was Kay Hagan's response to Dole's "Godless" ad. "I approve this message because my campaign is about creating jobs and fixing our economy, not bearing false witness against fellow Christians." Oh snap!
3My favorite isn't on the list either. It was a "Yes on 8" commercial...with a funny clip of Gavin Newsom. It made him look completely off his rocker.
I was 1000% against Prop 8, and I know the commercial was SUPPOSED to make people for it, but the commercial was just ridiculous, and the little clip of him was hysterical.
4I couldn't decide if I wanted to throw my shoe at the TV because the whole Prop infuriated me...or giggle uncontrollably at the clip.
5I couldn't help but love the Paris Hilton for president ad. I knock the girl so often, but it was very entertaining,
6I loved the chuck norris commercial. I'm not a huge fan of Mike Huckabee the politician but he has a great sense of humor.
7The Chuck Norris thing was just too funny to me. I don't support Huckabee the politician either, but it was a great endorsement!
8I loved loved loved the Celebrity ad. It was so darn funny.
9I was hoping to be done with the political ads for the next 4 years.... Darn.
10I'm not a Paris fan, but that one was really funny.
11The Obama is a celebrity ad was very historical.
12not historical but will def. be remembered.
13My "favorite" ad wasn't included on here either. And, it wasn't created for this election season . . . It was "No on 8" and it was so incredibly powerful. It was about a garden wedding, and basically everything that could go wrong before the bride walked down the aisle did. The first thing was the door handle to leave the bridal suite broke off, then her heel broke, then people had parked where she was supposed to walk. After that the arch that she walked through with her dad caught her veil and tore it off and messed up her hair. As she starts to walk down the aisle a little kiddo runs up and puts his (her) arms around her and the bride's dad has to disentangle them. So now her dad isn't with her, and a woman at the wedding sticks out her cane and trips the bride. The groom tries to leave the altar to help her, but he is detained by the people standing with him. They show the bride, down on the ground, looking up, and the groom looking back at her, and the narrator says something like "Imagine if you couldn't marry the person you love."
I know this isn't something that everyone on this website agrees with, but this was by far the most powerful ad that I have seen. It made me cry the first several times I watched it, and even now, as I have retyped it, I have teared up.
