NBC may soon name the next permanent host of Meet the Press. Whomever succeeds longtime host Tim Russert, who died unexpectedly earlier this year, will surely become one of the most influential journalists in the world.
Every president since John F. Kennedy, along with countless prominent national leaders, have appeared on Meet the Press, the longest running TV show in history. Do you think NBC should tap a well-seasoned journalist, or go with a younger anchor who can take the show in a new direction?

I like Koppel because he's not all about politics - he has much more of a world view and as the economic crisis plays out around the world, it's going to be important to have people who recognize the importance of the smallest shifts.
1yes stephley! i voted for koppel too. i like what he's done recently.
2Gwen Ifill. The other choices are either to partisan in my opinion or in the case of Chuck he's just missing that something.
3Ted Koppel would be the best choice, although I reckon that would greatly reduce his appearances on NPR's Talk on the Nation. Gwen Ifill annoys the crap out of me.
4I like Koppel, Todd, and Ifill.
5Koppel. Although it is still difficult to imagine Meet The Press w/o Russert; I loved how interviewed guests.
6I love the PBS anchors. Sometimes they are the only people worth watching, so Gwen Ifill.
7ifil, i heart pbs!
8Luke Russert!
9Ugh... I don't like any of the choices!
