Hi ladies,
So I tried self-tanning via a spray tan for the first time and I'm terrible at it. I'm all sorts of different shades and no matter how many times I tried to even it out, it's just not working! So I've decided that I should just embrace my pale skin. However, a fairly big event requiring a dress is coming up in a week and I look awful! How long does it generally take for a spray tan to fade? Is there something I can do it speed it up?
Also, is it bad if I am exposed to the sun while I'm still rockin' the (very bad) spray tan? Thanks!

sorry for laughin'..........ahum,
1just shower over and over and over and over! Next time you could try an over the counter lotion that has bronzers already mixed in. Exfoliate first. The lotion helps for a more even spread. Or if you have a self tanner , add a dime sized bit of regular body lotion to your tanner and then apply. Plus if you're that pale you really don't want to go with an all over body spray tan because everyone knows it's not you, right? idk,....hope this helps.
Try one that is tinted so you can see where it is rubbed in. You may also want to exfoliate thoroughly first. I use L'oreal Sublime Bronze Tinted Lotion and I love it and have not had a problem with streaking.. You may also want to give yourself time for 2 applications. The second application day will usually even out any unevenness from the first.

3I would get out in the sun (wear sun screen of course) and let it even you all out. Then, you should be a nice tan color, and the color will be all even.
4I'm not sure the sun will even it out. First of all, lay off the lotion and moisturizers this week- they will lock in the color. Second, I'd reccomend finding a swimming pool- the Chlorine will wash the tan away (or if you live near a beach or salty lake) the salt will scrub away the tanning solution. Also try soaking in hot baths. Good luck!
5the sun won't hurt you any worse than it would normally without the spray tan. next time try mystic tan. and exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate before you apply it! but i would say definitely find a big body of water and scrub with your towel really hard on the darkest spots, just to buff it out evenly.
6ooh, the salty beach was a good idea!!!
7A really grainy facial scrub should work also. Since you applied multiple coats, it may take a lot of scrubbing. 2 days before your event use a tinted self tanner and then apply second coat the day before.
8Jump in a pool-- clorine works wonderrs in bleaching that tan out.
TINA!
9I agree with the comments above mine. You need to scrub away the patches that are a little too thick. After you dry - see what areas you need to apply self tanner in a bottle. Make sure you apply lotion first and let that soak in before you apply the self tanner. It will give a more even effect rather than soak in and create another dark spot. Then wait a day and apply as needed. A little goes a long way.
After you get a somewhat even tone - try dusting a bronzer powder with a bit of shimmer to areas that are exposed.
