Do you and your mother have special bonding traditions? Do you have Sunday afternoon dates with each other to get together or chat over the phone? I have a weekly sushi date with my mom, just the two of us, where we can catch up, gossip, and spend quality time together. So ladies, with Mother's Day just around the corner (this Sunday, don't forget!!), do tell, what is your favorite mother/daughter activity?

1I call my mom about 2 to 3 times a week to just talk and catch up. Most of the time, I'm stressing about work or school, so she's the one that will patiently listen and offer her own advice. Then I'll ask her how her day went.
Anyway, we're taking
her out or brunch on Sunday...yum!
2Watching a chick flick on the couch and while eating chocolate or some other sort of treat and just talking about things in general. Or going shopping and not taking ourselves seriously (laugh a lot)
3We would always go to Target together on Sundays and have lunch. Even if we just went for tp - we would make the trip. It was just fun to walk around and chat.
4We did so many things together, she was my best friend. I miss the phones calls, some days it would be several times during the day just to make each other laugh. Miss you mommy!
5i don't think we really have a "ritual"...i'm my parents' only daughter (out of 6 kids) so my mom and i talk the most on the phone out of everyone else in our family. we live far away now, so we don't get to do any "weekly" traditions. we had a terrible relationship during my teenage years, but now that i'm grown i know that i am so lucky to have my mom!
6My mom, my sister and I all love bad sci-fi and horror movies. Whenever my sister is home from college for a visit I go back home for the day, and we sit around watching SciFi channel marathons of monster movies or rent bad movies. We'll make a bunch of snacks and then talk through most of the movies.
7My mom and I have always had a mother-daughter date night. We get together, drink champagne and make a nice dinner. It is so much fun to have a few drinks, cook together and just chat about everything. I'm taking her for a spa day with me for Mother's Day....massage, facial, etc... Yiippeee - can't wait!
8Smoke cigarrettes and piss each other off. LOL, just kidding. Okay, no I'm not. She is a worrywart and hard on me, being the only girl, and I'm more laid back. But I love her and she rocks.
I taught her how to put on makeup when I was 13 and my parents split since I used to read her Cosmo and stuff. She used to steal my clothes. Then she got a job at a salon and that was it! Til this day, I STILL refuse to get nails put on. HATE them. She was so mean when she did mine. LOL
The best times is when we go crabbing or fishing.
9Whenever I call we'll just BS abck and forth about random nothingness, it's great! That and when I was stateside we would make fun of people who were dressed funny in walmart.
10Mom and I make a "date" at least once a month to shop, have lunch, and have a great time. My mom and I didn't talk for over 15years, so this is very precious time for us.
11My mother died two years ago, but we spoke on the phone every day and had a standing date for Sundays. I'd arrive to her house around 1:00 p.m. and we'd have a light lunch with a pot of tea and cookies. Then we'd do any errands she might want to take care of and afterwards we'd have a glass of wine together while I made a special dinner. We loved our Sundays together.
