I love Jon Stewart.
And I love the idea of a fully plugged-in White House. I figured Obama's Internet savviness would come into play if he got elected.
1I think it is great that Obama plans on using the internet to communicate with Americans. People might listen if it is on you tube.
I also think this will make him more accountable to the nation. If he knows millions of Americans are going to be listening to these reports, he will work harder to make progress so we don't have to call him on his crap.
2O'Reilly is a thug.
3According to some people we already have a Muslim president...
4If by thug you mean awesome, then yes.
5I am still having a hard time getting over what O'Reilly said about homeless Veterans. And Falafel.
6I really don't like Bill O'Reily, he really gets me angry.
7I stayed up to watch this last night and it was hilarious!
8Generally, I can't stand Bill O'Reilly, and it's not about his views, but the way he argues with people (he doesn't let them say anything, and then assumes he's right because they don't talk quite as loud as him), but he's amazingly likable in this clip. How does that happen?
9colleen i had the same thought! i think what makes o'reilly seem likable is the fact that he's a very confident guy and him having the guts to go on the daily show almost makes you root for him the second he steps out from behind the curtain. the hot chocolate and teddy bear was priceless. the daily show seems to nail every damn thing they do - how does THAT happen? the writers are amazing!
10"the way he argues with people (he doesn't let them say anything, and then assumes he's right because they don't talk quite as loud as him)"
You said it far better than I could--that's a perfect description of him!
11YY, you know the answer to that. These kings of liberal media made a deal with Satan long ago for prolonged comedic brilliance.
12Bill really is a good guy who tries to be fair, I think. I don't care for how he insists overpower on guests. He wouldn't need to do that to be as good as he is (although Barney Frank deserved it). It gets tiresome really, and I can only really watch him around election times because he seems to be the most fair to all the candidates. Case in point was his Hillary and Barack interviews which were the toughest for each respective candidate, but arguably the best and fairest interviews for each of them.
I was a big fan of Tim Russert. Tim made it awefully hard to tell which side of the aisle upon which he lied. Bill, while not at that level, IMO tries to be as fair. Being such a staunch tradionalist, I think will always fall short....but he's awesome nonetheless.
13I can't stand O'Reilly. Either he used to be a little better, or I wasn't paying very close attention. When he had the "body language analyst" on his show, I vowed to never watch it again.
14I feel like body language analysis should be left to magazines like US or Glamour, not part of the political discourse. All it's ever used for is to reinforce preconceived notions.
15I like OReilly and it was nice to see that Stewart didn't call him an ideologue, and actually went out of his way twice to say he wasn't. He really isn't. He's conservative yes, but he's not a nard nosed Republicans can do anything and its ok and Democrats are always wrong kind of guy.
However I'd be careful making up opinions about him based on specific quotes because 99% of the time they are taken out of context by the likes of the fascists at Media Matters.
16Media Matters isn't "fascist."
