hmmm.
1I think Obama's victory was, among other things, a victory of civil and decent campaigning, and should sound the death knell for the divisiveness, fearmongering, and partisan smear tactics that failed to work for his opponent.
On a related note, last night I felt so sorry for McCain, and wondered how different things would be had the Bush campaign not smeared and destroyed him in 2000.
2He was about to tear up, I think. It was his final go at getting to the White House but he didn't make it. All those months...all these years. Can't help but feel bad for the guy but one thing that we know about him is that he is a survivor.
3Is that going to be the mythology of the Obama campaign? That they didn't run negative ads?
4Re Palin apologizing: sorry but this is ridiculous. I don't agree with anything she says or represents, but if she did cost McCain some votes, McCain himself and the Republican party are those to blame.
5I really think she was not qualified to be a vice-president, but it was McCain and his party's job to make sure they'd pick someone qualified to run as a v-p - she shouldn't apologize. It's a bit too easy to let her take the blame.
Governor Palin seems like such a classy lady. I like that. She handled those questions with grace.
6I concur with Advah, McCain is ultimately responsible
for HIS CHOICES.
On a side note, Sarah Palin is not one for verbal brevity..
7There was a LOT I was going to say about all of these articles...but since the election's over and we need HEALING not divisiveness, instead I'll say this:
Those holographs were pretty freaking awesome!
8That's quite an impressive word salad Sarah Palin. The apology to McCain for any potential loss of votes is priceless.
9This is the most eloquent she's ever sounded. Part of her has to be relieved. That's the first time I've heard her talk where it has sounded sincere and unscripted. I do hope that you do great things in Alaska Sarah. Good luck to you.
10Isn't this sexism
why is a woman apologising when Mccain is the one who made the poor
choices. Where are all those people who were screaming sexism now?
11I agree...I don't think Palin should agree for costing McCain any votes..its not like she rode down to him on a moose and pointed a gun to his head and made him choose her as his running mate...he chose HER.
12I agree, CYL.
13"I do hope that you do great things in Alaska Sarah. Good luck to you."
Thank you for this Harmony. I have enjoyed your comments post-election. You are a classy lady!
14lol, I enjoyed them pre-election too! lol, didn't want to give the wrong idea!
15LOL thanks GS. I just feel like this is a time to be gracious.
16There was more than just Palin that cost him votes.
17I could not agree more with you HarmonyFrance:
"This is the most eloquent she's ever sounded. Part of her has to be relieved. That's the first time I've heard her talk where it has sounded sincere and unscripted. I do hope that you do great things in Alaska Sarah. Good luck to you."
I enjoyed this interview. I did not enjoy a couple of the questions. I was thinking to the interviewer, "Get over it already -- clearly she's trying to move on, maybe we should let her!"
18Wow, Sarah Palin is so inarticulate. Is this really the most eloquent she's ever sounded??
19I knew she was this person. I really wish we could have seen more her like this in the election. I wish her well and I do not think anyone should blame her for a loss. Stop looking back and let's look forward. We need to move our nation forward.
20Amen Bella. We really need a kumbaya emoticon!
21
22lol, that didn't work out!
23
24There.
25
26Dude that is my joint. We should all hold hands and sing. :hugs:
27Nice, GS.
I didn't do this last night, so I'll do it now:
It was a hard-fought election, and you conservative Sugar ladies were some of the best-spoken McCain supporters I've had the pleasure of debating.
28Aww, Jude, thanks. And most of you ladies and one gentleman, I think that's all you have, were the same. Enjoy your win. I know you are all flying high today! The important thing is to try to end this scary divisiveness that has infected this country. And, being one of my absolute favorite libs, you are already doing that!
29I hate kumbaya.
30
Thanks, GS.
31Now, Jude, not all of us were McCain supporters... but I hope you still enjoy me
32Why there always got to be a party pooper - you will sing kumbaya anyway and like it.
Now everyone grab a hand.
33See, I was about to say, "Everyone but that Mich, she is just trouble. And I heard she has uncontrolled flatulence, too."
34Can I hold Bella's and Jude's? I think I just explained why I want to be on the other side of the circle from Mich!
35ohh my, I'll hold her hand.
36I don't wanna hold hands. *pouts*
37I've had some great times debating you, Mich
Now,
for everyone!
38GS, such a trouble maker.
39
GS and indie!
40indielove, you're the reason parents get switches for their children.
41Indie, you will hold my hand and you will like it.
Cause' my lotion smells good!
42Oh sh!t. I don't want a whuppin'! Somebody hold my friggin' hand.
43GS... harsh.
44Hold mine, indie, I'll protect you!
45Mich, remind her that you're not the one with back hair so long and luxurious it can be braided.
46I hear you can just go down to the ole' Walgreen's and get some Liquid Cork. It will clear that problem right up!
47If it were luxurious I wouldn't have to braid it!
48I need to be drunk before I can sing.
49No fair!
