A Canadian comic duo who call themselves The Masked Avengers recently href="http://www.citizensugar.com/2451580">pranked Sarah Palin— hard core. They called her staff (who promptly handed the phone to her) saying that French President Nicolas Sarkozy was on the line. Palin missed several cues that could have alerted her to the prank (the Pepe le Pew French accent, referencing the Nailin' Palin porno as her documentary, the improbability of the phone call in the first place), but maybe it was because she was so nervous she wasn't paying attention. Whether you're a fan of Palin's or not, what did you think about this prank: funny or too mean?

This broad is just stupid dipped in dumb.
1I second that
2I feel bad for her. Even though I don't believe she could be VP or President, she still seems like a nice person.
3But I will add that I think the SNL skits are hilarious - Palin is just too easy to make fun of!
4OOf. That's embarrassing. I can't believe she got in the phone that easily!
5I think she should fire her staff. They should have known not to accept the call. It's funny until you remember we need national security. I think she's a nice enough person, but surely not federal government material and not because of those guys (which was dry not funny). I think John McCain was the first one to 'punk' Gov. Palin.
6wooow! i cant believe how easy that was for them! I laughed at the "nailin palin" part...she obviously couldnt understand what he was saying!
7I can't believe they were able to fool someone who can see Russia from her own backyard!
8Well of course they can! She can't see France from her window, remember? Its much farther away in Europe (which, I believe one of the conservatives here called the place where nobody wears deodorant in a stunning display of global savvy and cultural expertise.
)
The closest this woman probably got to French was of the spud variety, on a plate with a hamburger - and even those are actually Belgian.
Didn't she agree in the prank to go "baby seal hunting?" What next, shall we line up 100 Dalmatian Puppies for a new coat?
9I don't think it was too mean. The fact that her staff didn't properly screen the call displays a much to relaxed attitude and incompetence on their part. As for her, this reveals her to be ignorant about the topics that as a VP candidate she should have internalized by now. I don't think it was mean... I might even say it was necessary.
10*too
11I don't think it was too mean. She fell for it, her problem. Her staff certainly wasn't a help, so they get much of the blame. This WAS funny, but I also don't think it was the worst showing for her. She displayed about as much knowledge as she's ever displayed (little, in my opinion), and behaved just as we know her to behave...while she thought she was on the phone with the French president! That's pretty "real" after all.
Also, considering that she did think it was the French president, I don't think it would be bright of her to start correcting or questioning him, if she knew the real information, so I don't mind that she was just patient and nice to him.
12This reminds me of being a teenager and handing the phone to one of my aunts or cousins when a guy would call that I didn't want to speak to. The bad thing is that it was in 'high school'. It would have been funnier if they had talked to someone other than her, thinking it was her. The punkee getting punked...now that's funny!
13Ahahahahahah "stupid dipped in dumb" LOVE IT! lolol
But yeah this was definitely not mean. She deserved it. Can't believe she couldn't figure out it was a prank.
14Oh, this definitely wasn't too mean. It was revealing.
15So it's that easy to contact VP candidate.
It's her own fault she's labeled as a stupid. I'm using the kind words now
16dont use the kind words in citizen! they'll eat you alive in there!
17Oh my !!! This was really good. I must say I agree with Mesayme though about firing her whole staff !!!!
18That was flipping hilarious. I'm just waiting for someone from Citizen now to march in here and rant about how offensive, unfair, and "poor Sarah Palin, she's always the victim blah blah blah" the stunt was.
I thought it was very telling.
19Ignore my above comment, I predicted and found the "poor Sarah"/"damn those liberal elitists" comments over on Citizen already.
20you can always find one of those in citizen! haha!
21Yeah within minutes of posting my comment I already got the attack (albeit indirect) that I'm so "immature." Cool!
22You thought getting into her email account was easy...try calling her! Oi..not very mean at all..it was like a naive teenager talking to the cool kids and wanting to be impressive.
23I just feel kinda bad about everyone always picking on Palin. Its like constantly picking on the slow kid in class. After a while it just kinda sad.
I can't feel sorry for her, she wanted this, then she needs to learn to be accountable. That's public office, we sort of expect her and the people in her employ to know what the heck they are doing.
(If she hadn't already embarrassed herself so many times methinks this would be far less amusing. So again, she helped create this situation by walking into it before she was ready, or well-versed in her own responsibilities.)
AND....if people are still going to slam Teddy Kennedy for Chappaquiddick, then she can damned sure get over a prank phone call...in fact, she had better, because this is no country for lightweights come election time on either side. Put up, or step down. No room for babies at the top people...no room!
24ROTFL Lily Inferno!! Hahahahaha "Its like constantly picking on the slow kid in class. After a while it just kinda sad."
25If the slow kid in class was this pompous they'd get it too. She talks like we're the slow ones and that's why she deserves all this and more.
26In response to that last comment by Shadowdamage: Right on! That's exactly what I believe. This isn't a middle school election. This is a significant government position that Palin isn't ready for. I respect Obama, McCain and Biden as deserving candidates. I do not feel that Sarah Palin deserves to be the Republican VP candidate, and she is certainly not the woman that I would like to be the first female VP.
27LMAO at picking on the slow kid in class comment...
28On one hand it's mean but on the other how could she not know that something was off.
29Oh she (or her staff) totally asked for it and I don't like the woman at all but I do feel sorry for her. Especially after everything. Almost like she got bashed to hell for nothing.
30woof. and to think she was thisclose to being the prez.
31I think it was a little mean. She obviously is a very naive person. I also don't think she is playing with a full deck of cards. It's just really mean.
32...It does scare me that she was almost our vice president though.
