LOL he must have reallllly had to sale a book!
1Wow, Barry Goldwater's granddaughter just made me really mad. Certainly Goldwater would not care for McCain's positions, but he'd be even less thrilled with Obama. So it's pretty offensive that she would speak for the whole Goldwater family (and use grandpa Goldwater's good name) to endorse Obama rather than just denounce McCain.
2It's sad that she has no respect for Barry Goldwater's principles.
3The View gets great ratings whenever OReilly is on because of the fireworks, so they should be thanking their lucky stars that anyone gives their show any weight anymore.
Anything that makes Joy uncomfortable is good for me!
4"this isnt 60 minutes, its the view" my favorite line, that and calling Joy a kool aid drinker. I love bill.
5Go O'Reilly!
6Citizen have you seen the video that compares the two interviews (the one they did with Obama vs. the one they did with McCain)
The bias is incredible.
With Obama it was a cooing love feast.
With McCain they were bitter hard butts.
You should check it out.
I wouldnt be able to sit there with those Harpies, the smell of rotting bitterness and old age would gag me. Plus seeing barbara without the Fog Filter would turn me to stone.
7chan - can you post the link?
8I love it when outsiders think they have a clearer view of someone's family member than the people who actually knew and lived with them and have the greatest access to their most personal writings.
9I'm sorry that I missed this interview. I'm glad that O'Reilly gave Joy what she had coming. I'm glad no one calls the View fair and balanced.
10I love when people think they can speak for dead people.
11Steph, all you have to do is read his book to know that Goldwater's views are practically the opposite of Obama's.
She could have simply denounced McCain and left it at that, but she chose to endorse Obama. She also could have left her family (and her grandfather's memory) out of the article, and simply spoken her own mind. She did not do that. The article is disrespectful to his memory.
12Yes, steph, I bet in his secret writings he said that he would vote for the socialist party.
13her post makes no sense! she starts out talking about personal freedom and then ends with "Nothing about the Republican ticket offers the hope America needs to regain it's standing in the world, that's why we're going to support Barack Obama"
Well sure, if you're voting based only on standing in the world which is what this sentence is saying, then yea you should vote for the guy who's going to be sure to kiss enough butt to make everyone like him.
14I was surprised by that endorsement from Goldwate's granddaughter, but her full statement seemed to focus on the tone of the campaign and social issues.
15if personal freedom is so important, they should be voting libertarian, those values more closely resemble BG than Obama's do.
but again, it seems she is voting because she wants the rest of the world to like us again.
16Also, I saw that clip of the View. Joy looked like her head was going to explode, and Elisabeth looked like she was going to pee her pants in delight. it was gross.
17I don't think any of her arguments make sense, but that doesn't bother me, I'm used to that. What bothers me is that she states it as if that's what Barry Goldwater would have wanted. Anybody who cares what Goldwater would have thought knows this isn't true.
Her statement would be fine if it were her statement, but she presumes to speak for a dead man who dedicated his life to fighting against the things Obama stands for.
18TS, most things involving either Bill O'Reilly or the women from the View are pretty gross. Get them all together? You'd better have a barf bag handy.
19I had actually noticed that clips from the View are never posted here. I'm surprised to see this.
20I think Elizabeth looks really happy. Someone should do a study on The View. Compare and contrast Joy and Elizabeth's relative happiness based on guest visits and topics (and whether or not Lizzie is being trounced).
21Barry is rolling. Another example of someone trying to cash in on a name. And I for one don't want her including me and mine in her, "our".
22Joy's body language says "ass hole"!!
23Joy behaved better than I thought she would. O'Reilly is an a$$.
24Stephley,
I agree with your assessment. A Goldwater scholar just doesn't compare to a close family member or colleague. To date, there has not been an heir apparent to Goldwater. Several Republicans have merely fashioned themsevles as hollow versions. As a complex independent voter, I would welcome with open arms a return to conservative intellectualism. Unfortunately, the religious right has befouled the Republican Party beyond recognition.
25Religious Right, Radical Left, I guess we are all lost? Or we vote half of who is in office out and try to start fresh.
26He composed himself really well! I would have lost my temper at Joy and her unbridled c*ntdom.
27I agree, GS! Fresh start, and term limits!
28Haha I love it! Go Bill!
29"her unbridled c*ntdom."
John is that you?
30... Why? Is that one of his catchphrases or is it just unfathomable to you that some people dislike Joy?
31c*nt is a name he likes to call his wife.
32It's very fitting for Joy. She was a total pain in that interview. She was worse with McCain.
33I guess that's the way you have to act in NYC or they'll beat you with sticks.
34He's a very brave man. I don't watch the show, but I've seen enough clips to know that Joy can be a real beast!
35I really wish Whoopi would have been there to put him in his place...while I like Joy she it too much of a hot tempered comedian to rebuff O'Reily properly.
36If Whoopi can't even keep it together well enough to SHOW UP to an O'Reilly appearance, I seriously doubt she would have been able to "put him in his place."
37Whoopi Was too afraid of O'Reilly to show up. She called in sick.
38whoppi afaraid?? i doubt that!
That man must be soo miserable!
39She had emergency gum surgery I thought. Joy is a b*tch. Why would he be miserable?
40to be always screaming and mad...i dont know..i think i'd be miserbale to be pissed off at so many people. Not saying that he was pissed off on The View..just in general.
41I can't watch him interview people. I hate the way he interupts them and talks over them. I want to hear what the interviewee has to say.
42People know before they go there (or at least they should know) that they will not be able to talk much..
you know who i will take any day though?
Lil O' Reilly!

43Whoopi also missed the episode with the HSM chick who looks up to her so I think she was actually sick. I'm on fall break, I probably shouldn't watch too much of The View...
44Mommof2 That is hilarious! "You look like a muppet!"
45LOL at BO on "The View," he was great. I'm not a BO supporter, but I do support most of the things he said on the show. Yes, Joy has become a grumpy old woman. Yes, Barbara Walters did not engage John McCain like she did Obama. Finally, YES, "The View" is not a fair and balanced show. I tape it everyday, and am surprised at how biased it has become. I am an independent, who is undecided at the time.
46Just out of curiosity, all of the people who hate O'Reilly so much, how do you feel about Olbermann?
(For the record, I dislike them both.)
47I've only seen clips online, since I don't watch cable news. Bill O'Reilly seems...what's the word...feistier? More prone to shouting? But yeah, they both have their moments.
48I like Bill. He calls a spade a spade. He doesn't mince words, or let you spin a response. I could do without some of the yelling, but there are "pinheads" out there that need a good tongue lashing.
49MSNBC doesn't come in on my TV, lil. Even though it is supposed to.
Does he have a similar interview style t O'Rielly? I really hate that talking over the interviewee thing so if Olbermann does that than I wouldn't like him.
