A sense of direction really comes in handy when you’re trying to navigate anywhere new. But unfortunately, not all of us have a natural knack for knowing where we are or getting where we’re going — some people have a propensity to always get lost, even with directions! There’s nothing like being stuck in the car for an hour circling the same streets to ruin a person’s mood. So ladies, does this sound like you? Are you easily lost?

I very rarely have a problem, but when I do, I don't have a problem asking for directions :]
1place me anywhere and i can find my way home. no doubt. this is why we have road signs. I guess you just pick this stuff up easily though living in large cities. houston for me.
2omg i am bad!
3it took me soooo long to figure out the city i was BORN in when I started to drive! I dunno why, but my sense of direction is horrible.
It's all about being aware. I used to have a terrible sense of direction. Then I moved to NYC and put myself through the ropes - it's dangerous to not know where you're going! Now I'm excellent at finding my way, wherever I am. (It also takes planning and forethought.)
4I'm terrible. I get lost so easy and then I start yelling or crying. I hate getting lost and not knowing where I am.
5Im directionally challeneged... thank god for my GPS
6If I have a map I can find my way no problem. But without one I'm doomed.
7I am so terrible at directions. If I don't go the exact same way home was I did to get to a new place. I will get lost. Its really sad
8I am really good with directions but thank god for that... because my boyfriend is TERRIBLE. His friends nicknamed him "Nicholost" because he is constantly getting lost. I cannot count the amount of times he has driven past our exit on our way home or gone the wrong way on the highway it's ridiculous.
My mom bought us GPS JUST for him. So far it's helped but MAN... he has no sense of direction.
9fallen85 - haha your bf sounds like my friend michael. he calls me for direction when he gets lost... IN HIS OWN NEIGHBORHOOD!
at least the gps is somewhat helping! lol
10Just need to buy or rent a new car with a navigation device.
11I ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO MAP QUEST IT BEFORE I GO ANYWHERE.
THERE'S BEEN A FEW TIMES THAT IT WAS UNEXPECTED AND I HATED IT.LOL.
12Yes all the time, especially when I'm running. One minute I'm on a road I know the next I'm coming up to the motorway! Thank God for Google Maps on the Iphone.
13The same reason I bought a GPS. I'm usually good with directions but for some ridiculous reason I end up taking the wrong exit or wrong turn. I've even gotten lost in NYC!!! Where I live!!
14I completely LOVE my GPS and I think I owe my life to it! When I can't use it for whatever reason though, I'm just OK with my sense of direction. I'm not completely savvy but I'll manage to find my way around eventually!
15OMG, I got lost when I was in Madrid, Spain the first night I tried to make my way back to my homestay by myself. It was the scariest thing ever!!!
16My boyfriend makes fun of me giving directions because I usually tell him to turn just after where we were supposed to. ;p Put me in a new town though and I'm pretty good at finding my way around!
Once I have visited somewhere once I am generally OK on future visits. It's all good though... I usually print off maps too!
17yep...and i'm not ashamed to admit it.....i am horrible at reading a map...hubby gets soo po'd at me sometimes....i just tell him to pull over and look at himself
18Its weird but I have a good sense of direction in most cities..but when it comes to the suburbs my boy is in charge lol
19My family calls me "Tom Tom" cause I always know where I'm going. Or perhaps they call me that because I'm a know-it-all backseat driver....hmmmm.
20I ALWAYS get lost...ALWAYS.
21I'm very good at reading maps and can follow them really well. However, I don't carry a lot of maps around, so I tend to get lost. Usually I don't mind getting lost though, especially when I have nowhere in particular. But when I have somewhere to be, I'll have directions ready and follow it to a tee.
22...especially when I have nowhere in particular to go*
23I map it out and look at it thoroughly. Usually I don't get too lost because I have a photographic memory and can recall it. As long as I don't get too flustered.
24my garmin is my best friend!
25I don't have GPS, and so I get my directions online to everywhere prior to leaving. On the occassion where the google map didn't know a road was closed due to rush hour traffic (as in, they make both lanes one direction) I sometimes have to call a friend and ask them hook me a up with a new route. Sometimes I can drive and figure out, and sometimes I take completely wrong turns.
I think my problem is once I have left the car, I forget how i got to where i am if it is a new place, and then my orientation as to where i am in conjunction with the roads when I am ready to leave where I have been is part of my problem.
26My mom says I'm a homing pigeon. I'm awesome with directions. I can go back to somewhere I haven't been in years and still know my way around. I owe a lot to my photographic memory!
27Yes, this is one of my weaknesses. My sense of direction is so bad, it's laughable. I get lost five minutes away from home. I have no sense of geography, and how our cities are laid out. I have no idea of north, south, east, west. I'm truly a direction tard.
Over ten years ago, my husband got me a cell phone so that I could call him, so he could come and lead me home. Embarrassingly, this was done on regular basis. As said, there were times I was five minutes away from home, and I couldn't find my way. He would arrive, shaking his head in disdain. LOL
My poor husband was so frustrated with me. He didn't understand why his seemingly intelligent wife was so incapable when it came to navigation and direction.
And yes, he got me a GPS.
28my X used to call me mapquest. =)
29I am really good at getting around in cities and in the wild.
30HORRIBLE sense of direction. seriously, my 9 year old laughs at me because even she remembers better and reads a map better. btw, am i the only one who was 30 before i knew that "up" on a map is always north? sounds so dumb, but i never knew that :durr:
31Due to the location of my bed in our first motorhome as a kid, over the driver's seat, I was my Dad's navigator. Give me a map and compass and I can go anywhere. Show me a map and I can usually recall enough details to find my way. My mother & sister do ok if they know the area well. My brother...well, he could get lost in a paper bag, poor thing.
32I have a terrible sense of direction
33No, I have a great sense of direction. My friends always call on me to navigate.
34I'm doing okay in a big city like Houston. At least I can get from point A to point B (with mapquest/gps), and repeat the same route the next day as long as I remember buildings, signs, and places (without mapquest/gps). It's getting better ever since I started driving. The only thing i'm still learning to get is North, south, east, and west - all I know is turn right, turn left, stay straight.
35I'm generally pretty good with directions. When driving by myself, I usually end up where I'm supposed to be with little problem. Backseat drivers are the ones who usually end up getting me lost with all their "shortcuts" and "landmarks" they look for. Thankfully, my new car has a built in voice activated GPS, so it never happens anymore.
36i used to be really bad at directions but once i moved overseas for school i realized that i was rather good at it and that was kind of interesting to me. ever since then i've had a great sense of direction and i'm usually pretty good at figuring out how to get places.
37i can barely remember left from right so yea i am pretty bad
38I think I do alright, but then in saying that I like to be prepared so I don't get lost so...maybe, naturally, I am awful!
